I saw a video having to do with US Special Forces and sleep. Part of the Green Beret selection and training has to do with being able to function when sleep deprived. The mantra used to be "you only need 2 hours of sleep." It has since dawned on them that there is a difference between surviving and thriving, and the troops should get a full 8 hours when possible. Just because you can function on two hours sleep doesn't mean you should make it a habit.
Interestingly, there are studies which correlate fitness and sleep quality. This would mean that fitness indirectly affects academic performance, and you could make the same argument for having a healthy diet.
My guess is active people get tired and can fall asleep. I sit at a desk all day and don't get enough exercise and I find it very hard to fall asleep at night. I just don't get tired during the day.
Maybe that's causation vs correlation issue. Students who are smarter happened not to spend so much time studying, and that's why they were sleeping more than other students
Regular early sleep might be an indicator of a consistent student, hence a more successful one. Sleep pattern signals just might be the symptom and not the cause. Don't lose sleep over this study people!
I really needed to hear this😊😊 I'v been feeling a little bit guilty for constantly sleeping while my friends pulling an all nighter studying every night 🙂🙂
are there any indications that what's good to learning is good for creative output? i've spent years studying mathematics, now i am supposed to produce new mathematics and I feel like no strategy I've come up with as a student is of any help.
problem is ... everybody doesnt need the same amount of sleep and some peoples brains are extremely active to the point of not being able to sleep . i can sleep only 5 hours MAX - unless im drunk or something
@tristix3721 true but you only get “quality” sleep when actually - tired. Your body can adjust to a sleeping time out of habit. But you won’t fall asleep in “quality mode” until necessary likely . This is why i burn out in the gym or work till i drop
It depends how old you are. At 16 to early 20s i could get away with 5h, at 40, without 7h minimum i feel worn out for the rest of the day. There could be people still able to function with less sleep even when they get older but its the minority, the 1 in 100 or less. If you are in that category, you are lucky
If you have trouble sleeping, try napping throughout the day. Naps are practice sleeps. For the first couple of nap attempts, you'll probably just sit with your eyes closed and your head on the table, but Ive practiced getting into rem sleep in 10 min naps (well, im dreaming and that means rem, right?)
The best sleep comes after toiling the entire day spending the time towards some goal with a sense of contentment.
youre so right.
there's no greater feeling than hitting the bed after a physically and mentally exhausting day

Looking for this response.

Or simply that students who are more organized study more effectively and get more sleep than those lives are more chaotic.

This camera angle makes me feel like a 5 year old sitting in front of your couch, not on it.
Great video! I’d appreciate if you go in depth about the physiological issues involved.

Thanks for the great video! Could you please link the study somewhere?
Master Roshi had it right from the jump:
“Work hard, study well, eat and sleep plenty!” 🐢
2 p.m. summer time or winter time, that is the question.
This video could have been a short e-mail.
Man❤ Love your productivity
I want to see the outtakes of your entry.

it's not the quantity of sleep but the Quality of sleep is important.

Yeah but how much "bad sleep" can I afford during a month without it affecting the scores too much?

Time for me to go to sleep 💤😴
This is one of the best channels for programming I ever came across. Period.
I used to think the same but now it’s all about learning and nothing about programming
If you want to wake up smart, go to sleep
Mr. Giles, for some reason, I'm thinking how do you maintain good hygiene of your sofa filled with so many rugs
you talk too much and its annoying
baby, don't cry
