I have found 2021 in circulation I have a lot of them I have pull out of circulation and need a lot of help to grade them I’m trying to to get MS 65 or higher
Thanks for sharing your perspective. I believe you might be correct. In Hawaii, half and large dollar coins are hard to come across, but I always ask my banks. ...2 years after your post, my bank got a box Mint wrapped of 2021 D Kennedy half. I was excited and surprised. Many came out of the rolls dinged up.
my 2023 redbook still calls them NFCs but the mintage numbers you put up speak for themselves; (the redbook is also different in those numbers); I will have to get a 2025 redbook soon and see what might have changed. I am going to spend a couple of rolls of 2021 and 2023 I got recently; they are obviously already circulated;
Other than some older slot machines - I do not know (other than coin hunters) any other uses for half dollars! I hope I am wrong and missing some other business that supports their use but I just don’t know of any! ???
I haven't seen any halves at my bank recently, but I will be keeping a closer eye. My LCS will sometimes give me a half in change when they have them in the register, but otherwise, I almost never see them
I think it could be a form of seniorage. I notice similar results when looking at $2 bills being printed for some recent series versus others. When they print the twos, they are doing it for a far better overall price than if they were to print the same amount of money with just ones. 2021 is a two quarter design year. So, maybe they have to mint so many more halves, to make up for 3 quarter designs not happening this year. Just speculating, but by minting halves, it is a way to not overproduce the Crossing The Delaware quarter.
I'm guessing the mint hasn't been looking at RUclips to see that people are roll hunting so when the banks start asking for boxes (for those roll hunters) the mint thinks people are using them in daily commerce and dumps more out....maybe?? Or the mint could be full of....well, you know, Minty Mike!!
Couch Collectibles is awesome! There are some great channels for coin collectors. I really like how you each bring something different and useful to the community. Thank you for what you do!
I think it's safe to say if you show up once a week looking for Kennedy half dollars the bank will start to order them and if the bank start to order them the mints will produce more.
Here in TX a large Red retail store was handing out half dollars for change during the virus of 2020. A family memeber that works at that retail store told me they had rolls of halves in their cash drawers for all of 2020 because of the change shortage. Maybe that change shortage caused them to be relased into circulation
Interesting finding, just a lot for those 2 years. Are we affecting the mint? I never receive a half dollar in change. Many years ago we got a 1943 🚶♀️walker from a 50 cent slot machine when they still used coins 🪙😪, not paper receipts. Ray.
The more boxes that are ordered increase the algorithm and if the mint pays attention to this and they see a rise in demand they will usually mint more. But I am not an expert, this is just my thoughts on the matter.
I would think they would still be in because I haven't found them in regular circulation yet I think next year is going to be the year that during regular circulation
Might be time for a class action law suit against the mint by the people who has bought the half dollars that have purchased with the info they are not intended for regular circulation. If the mint keeps this type of activity up, they will lose customers from buying these items that are supposedly not for release into the general circulation.
If the mint is delivering bags of the 2021's to places like Loomis, Wells Fargo, etc. to wrap up and distribute then these are indeed intended for circulation whether the mint wants to admit it or not. It would be a whole different story it it was leftover stock from say 2018 that they were kicking out but being out only a month and a relatively high mintage says that yes these are IFC's. As to the cause for it coin shortage, coin roll hunting, distribution issues, collector demand, ect. it is probable a combination of many or all of these with the way things have been over the last 1.5 years or so.
I found a whole roll of 2018s and I spent them before I found out that the were NIFCs. Fortunately, I have found many 2018s since that time at the bank but not an entire roll. I have not found any NIFCs of other years though.
Well considering you just got 6 boxes worth of them, who knows? Maybe the coin roll hunting has had an effect. I wonder if the mint people/director watch coin roll hunting streams. It would be interesting to ask Ryder about that. I would think some of them watch to gauge interest in certain items for sure
I would point out the spike in 2013 as a counterpoint. That was nearly 10 million produced without influence of CRH's rise in popularity. @SilverBull30 may be right...maybe some impact from the larger coin shortage and lack of circulation during 2020?
The spike in 2013 may have been in part to the fact it was the 50th year of issue of the Kennedy halves (1964-2013). Not that there was anything special done for the 2013 issue the mint may have seen a potential demand increase because of the anniversary.
Hey Silver Seeker!!! I really appreciate your channel and later on today I will be purchasing one of your mystery boxes and doing a unboxing on my channel (if that’s okay with you). I’m really new to this RUclips & precious metal thing. Long story short I’m happy to now be a part of this culture and I’m going to document the way! Thank you for all your content it’s very helpful!!! I’m really excited!!! If I can be a help to you in any way…. Shoot me a message! Keep up the great work!!!
I dont do "NIFCS' but I Wonder if the coin shortage had something to do with this, you may of hit a the jackpot, Ebay those suckers! 1 roll at a time $$$$! Thanks Seeker!
The mint is sending boxes of them to Banks to be distributed as currency... additionally the data is still listed as circulating coinage on their mintage stats page...
@@SilverSeeker I think that has been happening since 2017. The sneaky word is "Intended" and I think that hasn't changed. It is ludicrous that the Mint is just dropping Millions of them into Circulation without formally classifying the denomination as a Circulating Coin. Sheesh I wish they would get their act together! Thanks @Silver Seeker you are the Man!
Very interesting observation. Since the orders for halves have increased alot due to CRH on RUclips, perhaps the Mint is responding to the "demand." If so, then neither the 2018 nor the 2021 would be NIFCs
Idk and I’m just learning a lot of stuff and I don’t know much but from what I know they are NIFCs and they are made proof like and worth something low mintage for 2021
Of course they are making more they have to make up for all the silver that’s been pulled out of circulation since hunting halves became popular and silver prices went up at least that’s Mehta I think thanks for sharing see you on the next one👍🏻👊🏻
Littleton had a "free 2021 coin promo" as long as you'd get on their mailing list recently. I don't see why they would make a ton of Kennedys because at some point the coin hunters are going to find all the silver right and the coin roll hunting will slow down. The coins don't have a use otherwise except as novelty currency that cant' go through regular vending machines.
they could be slipping some into circulation unless you collect coins most people, at lest the younger generation has never seen half dollars and dont know what they are on another note they really dont know what a 2 dollar bill is from what iv seen working with younger folks
If they are not made of silver what is the point? I exchange fiat for silver because I'd rather have money and not a so called substitute. Besides the 100 plus year game is almost up. Don't be caught holding the bag!!

It would be a little more Exciting if there were 2021 W Half Dollars Mixed in I don't want Full Boxes of 2021 P or D Aghhhhh!
Went to the bank today and all the halves they currently have are boxes and rolls of uncirculated 2021's.
Bought a roll of halves from the bank, got 3 2021s in the roll. 3 bicentennials and a 2009 NIFC
Has ANYONE found Any Errors on 2021 Half dollars ???

Not intended for circulation.

Is 2021 half dollars NIFC or Not
if we have a change shortage, why don't we start spending halves?
They probably are harvesting the silver themselves and issuing new clads to replace them.
Silver eagle 2021 West point
I live in southern Mississippi and any half dollar is rare around here.
Go to bank stacker.
If the mint is sending them out, then I would think that they are intended for circulation. The Mint is sneaky.
I did not know the mint was still distributing Kennedy’s to banks! If they are, aren’t they intended for circulation?
Wow, this is the confirmation that we all needed.
People should use the 50 cent coin again in circulation.
I haven't seen any halves at my bank recently, but I will be keeping a closer eye. My LCS will sometimes give me a half in change when they have them in the register, but otherwise, I almost never see them
Will the 2022 half dollars be NIFC
Buenas
Amigo yo tengo 16 monedas de esas
Half dollar será k puedo venderlas
Xfa ayúdame
I use $2 bills all the time! I’d love to see the half dollar come back into usage.
I try to use half dollars and dollar coins as much as possible since it's easer than having a bunch of quarters and dollar bills
I still get halves from one of the local recycling centers. Makes sense to me to use them as you are not burning through quarters as fast.....
Has the increase of more coin hunting channels affected the amount of silver you are finding now ?

I like your reasoning, sounds very plausible. Good theory.
Probably explains why I haven't seen many Delawares. I've only found two all year so far
@@normanwaterman2017 I have been seeing a lot of Denver mint ones, but only one Philadelphia so far.
All the half dollars end up back at the bank except for the silver
Nah i put them into circulation

I think so. Supply and demand

Interesting concept. In some states, they have spent the last year dealing with full boxes of the 2018’s as well.
I think it's safe to say if you show up once a week looking for Kennedy half dollars the bank will start to order them and if the bank start to order them the mints will produce more.

yeah we dont circulated half dollars at store in MA
That’s interesting. I don’t know if they can be NIFCs either, but this was cool to know.
I have found a ton of uncultured 93s too. Wondered if the mint dumped them in.

I think its because of the coin shortage I always think of that why the mint sells out of there products is from the RUclips coin community

Wow I wasn't expecting that from the 2021 halves. But I do think with as many channels out there it does make the banks need more.
I dont know if it's the coin roll community or the sudden increase in coin collectors, which is due to the coin roll community.
