Until I saw this video I was not aware that little children became monks or studied to become monks from such a young age. How do they choose this? Is it chosen by their families? Isn’t it difficult for them to leave their mothers so young? Do they still get to visit with their parents and siblings? I think it might be similar to other children going away to boarding school, but in this case there is a deep spiritual aspect to their education.

Amitabha is the king of light and the king of buddhas. Amitabha can also be called Buddha of Infinite Light and Buddha of Infinite Life. Namely Amitabha. Amitabha, freely translated as immeasurable life (Sanskrit amita^yus), immeasurable light (Sanskrit amita^bha), so Amitabha is also known as immeasurable life Buddha and immeasurable light Buddha. However, in Tantric Buddhism, Amitabha's response is incarnate as the Buddha of Immeasurable Light, and his sacrificial body is the Buddha of Immeasurable Life. It is stated on the scroll of the immeasurable life that the Buddha of immeasurable life is majestic and bright, the most respected first. It is also said that the Buddha of Infinite Life is boundless in stature, which is beyond the reach of ordinary people.
The "Blessed Life Sutra" says: If anyone gets the title of Buddha, he rejoices, believes, and even thinks, he should know that he has the supreme merit. The Amitabha Sutra says: recite Amitabha, and get the protection of all the Buddhas in the sand of the Ganges in the ten directions!
Support sentient beings to the Pure Land of the West. The person who recites the Buddha can now obtain ten benefits. This is what the Blessed One proclaimed in the sutras that the Buddha opens the golden mouth, the truth is true!

It breaks my heart to hear about how these young monks get physically, emotionally and sometimes sexually abused. Some of them will be scarred for life. These little children should be with their parents, they should be nurtured at home by their parents. This tradition of enrolling little children needs to be stopped. Only adults should be enrolled to be a monk as they can make informed decision on their own. What if these kids change their minds when they become adult. Parents and head monks need to give serious thought to it. Everything look rosy to the outside World but trust me I have heard lots of horror stories of what these children go through. BTW I am a Buddhist too.

They have a long way to go before they truly grasp the religious meaning. Discipline. Those gestures they make will eventually disappear.

Buddhist monks and nuns should avoid meat, alcohol, married and living luxury life. Give them this education. Tibetan cultural most monks and nuns doesn't following this rules.buddha said if you don't have any food to eat then you can eat meat.this kind of bad buddhist culture was born in potala palace lhasa. Pureveg simple living monks could inspire us to be pureveg and live simple life without any violence.
