Best show ever. 2nd season very underrated
i think season 2 is the highest rated
season 5 the media is the worst and then the next is considered the school system
@@vince3804 Season 4 is one of the best seasons in television history. My order for this show is 4,3,2,1 and 5
@@MJones-ur1hp I love 2-3-4 actually
To me they are tied - I do think I have a slight preference for season 2 tho
1 next / then
5 is the worst
Either way - best show ever
I remember the first season it took like 10 episodes to actually give a damn about what was happening - this whole interview makes me want to go back and re watch it haha
I totally agree!! In fact, season 2 is the best season of the show in my opinion because it got away from the street life and showed how influential politics and abuse of power by law enforcement are to the plight of the "hood". Season 5 is also underappreciated.
Show was masterpiece from start to finish...R.i.p Michael Williams
Damn. I just remembered he was dead again. R.I.P.
I loved him. Omar and Bubbles were my favorites
Truly amazing show. It's has to be my all time favorite.
Omar. The greatest character ever created.
RIP Robert F. Chew as Prop Joe as well
Season 2 of The Wire, first watch I couldn’t get behind it. After rewatching it, I appreciate season 2 way more, absolutely amazing show!!!
"Nicky, from the docks" - Spiros
And his malaca cousin
My name is not my name.
You only really appreciate the docs when you start seeing the other seasons and how each season addresses a specific segment of the city and how the drug trade affects it
I really love how he mentions that it felt like it was "low production value". And The Wire is, absolutely. And I think that is one of the strenghts of the show tbh. It feels so gritty, dirty and real because of the writing and acting, but also because of the low production value. It isn't made up and polished, looks-wise, as other shows. And I think that is a massive benefit in this case.
Its not "low production value". Baltimore is just fucked up. We had the best cinemaphotographers, key grips, PROP MASTERS,wardrobe, and cast to MAKE it look as real as possible. Not to mention the PERMITS, and extras. Please don't get that confused with production value. ✌🏾
@@jdwilliamsnorkprojects734 yeah true! Didn't mean to degrade the product so to speak.
Yeah The Wire is as authentic as it gets. Never seen anything like it, probably never will.
@@Kaspisify He could have said "gritty" like you did, or "raw". "Low production value" was a shot. And if it wasn't deliberate, it was ignorant and disrespectful.
@@jdwilliamsnorkprojects734 yeah I get that! You're giving me good perspective and "arguments" for friends who conflate the gritty and authentic aspect of The Wire for low production value hehe :)
You're a soldier Bodie!
I’m from the UK and think this show is the best series ever made. Some of the best writing, casting and acting I’ve ever seen from what at the time went totally under the radar. Was talking about this show in work with a few people just a few days ago and the general consensus was that it was one of the best pieces of television yet made.I still want to visit Baltimore someday too.
From being on one of the most critically acclaimed shows to being one of the most prolific videogame characters on TV Paul Schreiber came a long way.
Wire is the greatest show of all time and the themes and message still ring true
Season 2 is underrated
The Season 2 finale was one of the best season finales in Television history! Such an emotional story!
That has to be one of the best shows of all time. It spring boarded so many actors careers with Idris Elba and Michael B. Jordan to name just a few.
It took a second viewing of The Wire for me to truly appreciate the 2nd season, and the series as a whole.
Second season was my favorite too. Pablo's character was great
The Wire deserves way more praise and recognition
Dude even showed for the finale!!!!!
I remember watching the 2nd season of The Wire and I thought I had tuned into the wrong show! Then I thought maybe is was a one episode thing but nope. It took me a while to warm up to that season. I liked the Greek antagonists, they didn’t mess around.
Watching the Wire in real time and waiting for next Sunday's episode. Jonesing worse than Bubs.
Bubs jonesed worse than any real addict ive ever known lol. Never even seen an addict that acted anything like that.
The wire was poppin from day one
Folks who complain abt season 2 wanted a 1 dimensional story abt criminals & cops. Thankfully the Wire creators had a bigger vision. The story of urban crime affects & is affected by many institutions...police, politics, blue collar union opportunities, school systems, media, social services etc. The Wire was the only show that spotlighted the multi-dimensional causes of urban crime
don't ask me why...but my mind was blown the first time i found out his name was Pablo...
Season 2 was my favorite...
I loved Den of Theives and had no idea this guy was the same one from the wire that's awesome
Season 2 was by far my favorite. It was the most different of the 5. And I love Nicky and Frank Sobatka. Ziggy was a useless moron but the other two were very smart and capable. Especially Frank. Gosh what a character. Involved himself into some terrible stuff but all of it was for the union and his coworkers.
Nicky Sobotka!
if I didn't recognize him and only see him as nicky sobotka from the wire, I think I would've hated his master chief acting even more
Frank Sobotka is a fkn legend
Holy hell. He's american. I thought his accent in Halo and that bank robbery movie was acting. I guess I didn't know he was acting during American Gods.
Pablo Schreiber looks like Ben Affleck and Adam Sandler were melted together
🔥🔥🔥🔥
he looks like Zach Braffs brother to me
My absolute favourite show ever.
Now I wanna watch it over for the 4th time. Ugh nothing wll ever compare
4th time? Try over 30. Lol, but true
Fav TV moment of the last 30 years is when he wakes up, looks at his girlfriend, grabs her boob and then goes to work. Not a word spoken. Just living the moment. I modelled my life after that philosophy.
Second season is the absolute best all three Sobotkas have some of the best arcs in the show.
The game is the game.
I’m not hearing your name
Indeed
He brought a new face to master chief
I've watched the Wire at least 5 times.
Season 2 does not get the credit it deserves.
💗 him!
He looks the same. Season 2 was so good
Pablo was great...
He’s hella funny in that show in HBO called Brink
Damn! I didn't even know it was him.
Wait i just now realized that was him sheeesh
Not sure he’ll top his Leprechaun in American Gods. So good.
Nicky Sabotka top 3 character from The Wire for me.
season 2 was the best season of "the wire", which was the best show in the history of tv.
While I am a season 2 apologist, that's a huge stretch. I go, 3, 4, 1, 2, 5. You could trade 3 or 4. You could maybe also trade 1 and 2. And season 5 would be the best season of many other shows.
@@Nohudpvp not at all. season 2 was when everyone got completely-comfortable in their characters, and the writers hadn't gone overboard. my ranking: 2, 1, 3, 4, ... 5.
@@douglasharley2440 but what I am saying though, is that you are in a very precise minority with your take. No one really thinks s2 is the best. But most people unfairly say it sucks. I don't believe either. But that's ok.
@@Nohudpvp lol, idgaf what "most people" think, almost everyone is stupid af.
I respectfully disagree. Season 4 my guy. Season 4. Not only was that the best season of the show, imo it’s arguably the best season of any show in history as far as dramas go. The storytelling, character development, and social commentary was at its peak. I’d rank the rest of the seasons as follows: 3, 1, 2 & 5. I could possibly see 1 & 2 swapped but even that’d be a hard sell for me. I do agree that 2 was highly underrated though.
Nooooo Lewis
Rip Micheal K Williams!!!!!
wonder what "we own this city" will be like..???
Where’s ziggy?? 😇
Dead ringer for Ben Affleck.
He doesnt look or sound like Nicky 😂
Did Frog realized that he is a white??
Halo is boring.
I wonder if Pablo's grandfather immigrated in 1945.
2 was the weakest link but hes a good actor
The weakest season.
Not really
The Dock season was misunderstood by many……
To me it probably was the best written season, introducing The Greeks the start of the down fall of Barksdale we seen Jimmy McNulty start look like he can exist in a home life but we see he couldn't. A lot of other great story lines it was a great season of television history.
I honestly think season 2 was the best season of the 5
But loved by more.
I rewatched it recently and it's one of the more deep complex seasons. Especially the FBI connection. Alot of it went over my head when I went through the Wire a few times
So true after the 1st EP I didn't watch season 2 until 4 or 5 yrs ago and I understood how important that season was
I had to go back and rewatch season 2 to really appreciate. Can't believe there was a time when we had Sopranos and The Wire at the same time
The Wire, The Sopranos, and Curb Your Enthusiasm! Sunday’s were holidays back then!
Glad to see he's doing good. Last time I saw him he was hiding from The Greek in the Witness Protection Program.
Last time I saw him was when he called Andy Krawczyk a cocksucker for selling off the docks to some yuppies from Washington.
Or exploiting female prisoners in jail
I saw him in an episode of the New Adventures of Old Christine. Or, might’ve been a different Julia Louis-Dreyfus sitcom.
He’s in HALO, great new show
He was great in Den of Thieves
Pablo is a great, fun TV star, but 3 hours late the 1st day & not fired ?? apparently really lucky too
It probably had a 5AM or 6AM start time they put in long hour days. Not terribly late, but not a great first impression either.
The Wire was some of the BEST Tv ever. The cast was amazing. RIP Michael Williams.
I remember sneaking downstairs as a kid to watch the show. Loved it then and rewatched it as an adult and it’s even better.
swiiper, *no swiiping!* 🤣🤣🤣
sorry, i had to.
Just saw him in "Den of Thieves", did a great job in that too.
A while back my wife was watching that TV show Orange is the New Black and he played in that too and he was funny as hell 😂😂
That was him damn.
The Wire is the greatest TV show of all time
Season 1 & 2 were 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Quite possibly 3 & 4 were even better but the entire show was a masterpiece
Season 1 was by far the worst.Tons of it was boring.
The Docks season is a misunderstood masterpiece imo. Given how so many people are fighting tooth and nail in the US to set up a Union today it shows how ahead of its time it was.
Loved season 2
Season 2 of the Wire always reminded me of Shenmue 1.
This is such a washed reference and I love it.
LOVE THIS.
-Bodie
I’d be more worried about being fired from that awful Halo series.
Luckily the first season is in the can. Other than not watching the show, it's not your decision, thank goodness.
@@fromthehaven94 right..bc every actor wants a one season show. Think before you post.
@@NotYourFriendPal Think what? That the first season's episodes aren't all filmed? That an adaptation of a video game has to be exact? I would rethink your advice, as you suggested he be fired.
@@fromthehaven94 just look at the ratings lol 69% from critics and 55% from fans.....yeah its a flop cause they ignored source material and went woke with it and now it will be known as just another failed video game show/movie. The original trailers for the games had better CGI....
@@Shifty51991 Try using a word other than "woke" (or politically correct).
Same directors We Own the City coming out soon. Looks real good
I have hopes despite Treme being a boring soap opera.
He was great in 'The Brink' too!
I remember he was the smart cousin
Ziggy man smh
Who got his uncle killed
Beginning of HBO?! HBO had been around since the 1970s.
Lol, I exactly what I was thinking
Pablo could have been Jack Reacher.
Pablo was Outstanding In "Defending Jacob" so far "HALO" is Great!
Halo is hot garbage lol...
Pablo and Chris Bauer carried the docks storyline
2nd season is actually my favorite.
GOAT show
he is so hot, specially as Nicky Sobotka🥵🥵🥵
They shoulda made a show called "The Docks". It was jarring to see season 2 shift so much.
The wire season 1 was a masterpiece. Only cops and criminals seemed tk have understood. The other seasons along with the first were the writer's experiences in Baltimore as a copper, teacher, reporter and longshoreman.
Him and Ed(Burns),haha✌🏾
I also have a “Omar Comin” T-shirt and I am sat here watching this in my “Bubbles Depot” t-shirt.
Go Wolves
Den of Thieves was such a crap movie but his performance in it was the only good thing. he's a good actor
The leprechaun
if Rich has his own show then who is running espn
The dock and newspaper seasons were great to me. Everyone I talk to hates them
Mmmmm Pablo Schriever. Those long legs
Season 2 is such an underrated season
about to become the new wolverine
Maybe he just needs a new hat...
Season 2 best season of the wire.
it was my favourite season
Niko!
Wasn’t anywhere near the beginning of HBO
But it was.
@@Reb3nga No.....HBO had been around since the early 70s
@@CLC407 yeah..like Netflix (Video Store) but no one really heard of it during that days.
I don't know how old you are, but I seem to recall that HBO has been HUGE for a very long time, waaaay before The Wire. It was the place to watch all the biggest movies, all the comedians wanted HBO specials, World Championship Boxing was where all the legends of boxing fought, etc.....
@@CLC407 In the US maybe? But you know there is a world outside your country? Worldwide it was Sopranos that skyrocketed HBO.
1,3,4,2,5
Season 2 was the best season without a doubt IMHO
No way it was the weakest season but it was still ok
It wasn’t the best but it was the season that explained everything else
@@mrallcity3375 season 5 is the weakest
2 may have been the best season of the wire.
Classic.
Season 1 and season 4 were the best.. 2 and 5 were trash.
