Trying to see how you attach the Ulterra to its base after the base is mounted ted in place! No one shows that!

Very nice explanation! I'm wanting to do the same but I'm wondering if there is any motion between the bracket and the trolling motor while in use.

I haven’t noticed any motion while running the trolling motor. To me, it operates the same as mounting directly to your bow. I have used both ways in the past. If you never plan on removing the trolling motor for water activities such as tubing etc., then you may not want to install this, but we tube allot so it’s nice to be able to remove the trolling motor in a couple minutes.

I'd use anti seize on stainless bolts and nuts for gulling on trolling motor also I'm putting same setup on my boat

Can the trolling motor be attached/detached while it is still ‘deployed’ in the vertical position? I’m considering using this quick release bracket on a pontoon boat and would not be able to lay it down in the stowed position. Thanks!

Yes, you should be able to remove it while deployed. Just leave a little extra room on the front while installing so you can slide the motor backwards to detach. It takes roughly one inch of movement backwards to detach.

Great video Deano. Only thing I am looking to verify is let’s say you have a stow issue with ulterra. Seems like it’s an easy process to get it off? Looks like you would lift from the side and wouldnt have to worry about clearance from the shaft pulling it in?

Yes, that’s a good point. If you have a failure on your Ulterra stow, you could easily remove the motor with the quick release saving you a headache in the process 🙂.
