How to Put on a Duvet Cover in Seconds!

  • Putting a duvet cover on after wash is never easy. The comforter (or duvet) has a tendency to bunch up and slide around. Learn how to stuff a duvet cover in 5 easy steps to ensure your comforter lays flat and stays perfectly straight.
    More information:
    www.craneandcan...
    Step 1: Lay the comforter flat on top of your mattress.
    Step 2: Take your duvet cover and turn it inside out. Insert your hands inside and find the two top corners. You should now be holding one corner in each hand.
    Step 3: With your hands inside the duvet cover, reach down to grab hold of the comforter’s top two corners.
    Step 4: Holding the top two corners tightly, flip the duvet cover right side out over the comforter. Give it a shake and a fluff until the duvet cover falls down to cover most of the comforter.
    Step 5: Pull the duvet cover down. Stuff the bottom two corners of the comforter inside the bottom two corners of the duvet cover. Once everything is aligned, zip it up!

    I used to follow the california roll method, which people claimed was easy. As a single person, I had to cross over to the other side of the bed multiple times to get it done. This method you've shown is ridiculously easy!! Thank you so much!!

      I had so much trouble as well haha, for some reason I was holding the cover corners from the inside, your hands have to be gripping the corners from the outside of the cover, but it's the inside of the cover touching the duvet corners. Also I think it's a twin bed in this, for a queen bed you need at least 20 good shakes to "unroll" the cover around the duvet.

    One thing that helped me was I would pull the corners closest to me, then with my hand in the duvet cover I'd find the other far corners then pull the 3rd one halfway, pulling all the way through on the 4th corner. No flipping really needed. After all 4 corners are snugly bound you can zip it up and air it out

      Good to know.! I'm try'n it today for the 1st time. Looks to me like the "pillow case" method would be easier than the "burrito." But still, you need to fasten it down don't ya think? Even if you attach some self adhesive Velcro to the edges/sides on any & all blankets I have zillions of blankets already; it'd save the expense buying, by definition, a duvet insert.. Thoughts?

    Don't you have to tie the strings to the corner of the duvet too? Otherwise it bunches up inside.

    • @Craneandcanopy
      @Craneandcanopy  9 лет назад +23

      The use of corner ties is not mandatory, however, we highly recommend doing so to prevent bunching and slipping during the night (especially for those that toss and turn frequently). All Crane & Canopy duvet covers come with hidden corner ties and all our comforters come with loops to attach the two together. Should you want to use them, simply follow the video's steps and use the corner ties to attach the inside of the duvet cover to the comforter between steps one and two. Sweet dreams!

    • @robinholbrook6576
      @robinholbrook6576 4 года назад +2

      You mean the duvet COVER has a zipper. Americans always get it confused. The DUVET is the comforter; the big fluffy thing. The DUVET COVER is what we put over it (a giant pillowcase, so to speak) so we don’t have to wash the duvet all the time. In most of Europe they don’t cover it and they don’t use a top sheet. They just take the duvet (comforter) outside and shake and hang on the line. They call this “airing” it. You must remember Europeans don’t shower every day, either, because it is rarely necessary unless you live where it is very hot and Europe is not near the Equator like The Southern US. So, the duvet is like the comforter or pillow and the duvet cover it the CASE that keeps it clean (and would have buttons, ties, snaps, or zippers. There are some beautiful linen ones being made in Latvia on Etsy at MooShop by Iveta. She does beautiful,work and is working even now.

      This comment went from roasting Americans to roasting Europeans to advertising some random's Etsy page. And tf u mean Europeans don't shower everyday bro? I can't tell if ur 9 or a rete.

    • @robinholbrook6576
      @robinholbrook6576 4 года назад +2

      Troy the Europeans I know who live in the cooler areas do not shower every day. It is very drying on the skin to shower that often. Of course if they exercise or sweat they thy do. I am NOT implying anything except that Americans have become excessive about showers since WWII since TV and the concentration of commercials based on cleanliness! The amount of products in grocery stores for washing, shampooing, dental hygiene, deodorant and the like i absurd! We HAVE to sweat to stay cool! Personal hygiene has changed dramatically since the war and not all of it is healthy! Many dermatological problems are caused by products we able and by keeping our skin far too dry! Europeans are in better balance.
