They did it again! Aqara seems to knock nearly every product they make out of the park. The use of alkaline batteries is definitely not ideal, but understandable for cost savings. It's definitely an interesting approach for sure.

Good video...... what power requirements is needed for the wired option?
This is on my list for sure. I'm not happy with Ring and my HomeKit. Dropping the Ring subscription will eventually have this doorbell cost less than it costs me to keep Ring.
Hi I was wondering if the video automatically shows on echo shows when the doorbell is pressed like ring does.
6:43 does this setting only work with wired connection? All my clips stops at 6 seconds. Subbed 😊

Question on this. Are videos only saved on the aqara app to view or can they be saved in apple home as can’t see the saved videos anywhere in iPhone homekit
I have a lot of Aqara gear and have been very happy with it. It works well and is easier on my wallet than a lot of other brands. I love the capabilities of the G4, but I’m going to wait for something a little less bulky.
Yep, my thoughts too, If they made a smaller verson of this for hard wired installs only (i.e. no batteries) I'd buy it
How does the Secure Video work with the SD Card? if you use that feature for constant recording does that save anything into the could or just to the SD card?
Thanks Craig. I found the camera really disappointing. The Berti Le view is poor and it doesn’t show the ground anywhere near the front door, in face if you have a small porch it’s really bad. There’s also no package detection which these days is important.really disappointed as I waited for it to come out as I wanted a HomeKit supported doorbell.

You enjoy your new G4. Go under the Apple TV settings and check under the home or HomeKit settings. I don’t remember what it is called and am away from my Apple TV. But you would select which supported cameras or doorbell you want to pop up on the screen. By default it doesn’t automatically pop up. Each Apple TV needs the cameras turned on that you want to pop up.

Help! looking for reliable home security system, avoiding the Adt / Viviant scams. Aqara seems very popular but I think a backup monitoring service makes sense at times. I just want door sensors and motion alarms.

Is it possible to improve the signal between the receiver and the doorbell in case of weak signal, in your opinion, maybe with an extender or similar device?
The included chime serves as a range extender for the doorbell. That gives the option to split the distance with the chime to help the signal.
Every video doorbell & motion detection cameras made by companies proclaim their devices can be installed & work without paying a monthly service only to learn it won’t work or won’t work well unless you pay the $25-$50 a month to a service that stores the videos. Please let me know if you can?.

On Alexa Routines, I see a trigger for doorbell push, but not for motion detection. Did you find one?
I checked it out and I don't see the Aqara motion sensor trigger. I think Amazon is holding back the capability for motion on competing cameras and doorbells
Does the camera feed automatically show up on iPads in the home/same Wi-Fi network? Or is that only on smart displays/Apple TV/FireStick?
It only shows up automatically on the Apple TVs. You would get a notification on any other device that you would have to expand. I hope you are doing well. Happy Holidays.

If you are using battery, the liv video feed on homekit will make the battery not even last day. Only use this hardwired or you will just have a dumb doorbell

looks really good but AA batteries in 2023 ? meh can't see it getting 4 months, think you will be looking at 25 + batteries a year, they need to do a new edition with swappable lithium rechargeable

I would love to see a pro version or plus version that is smaller and has a built in battery or wired only. I think the real value of this doorbell is wired and the 24/7 recording.

Just tried to add an additional fingerprint code and screwed up EVERYTHING. Nothing works now, AND the labels in the app don't make sense and are NOT intuitive what I did six months ago means nothing and I cannot logically follow my way back. So I'm ripping it out and getting a simpler way less expensive 'fingerprint' door lock. UGH!!!!
