- In 2020, the After Hours crew reunited for the first and last time to perform an unreleased episode and raise money for COVID relief. Thanks to you, we raised over twelve thousand dollars, and to show our appreciation we put together a reading of ANOTHER unreleased episode, for what is now an unprecedented second last time. Ever wonder how Katie, Michael, Soren and Daniel have been coping with quarantine? You haven't? Oh. Well, we made this anyway.
This is the actual friends reunion that I think we all really wanted.

Swaim’s persona was essentially my imaginary friend as a teenager.
I would not call them "my friends". but I feel like I had lunch a bubch of times on the next table at the dinner, trying my best to hold my laughter in so they don´t notice me stalking them.
My real "friends" are Rachel, Chandler, Monica, Joey, Phoebe and Ross.

There's two kinds of people - those of us who have been waiting for a Friends reunion and those of us who have been waiting for the truly iconic cast.

felt like an homage to the end of Dodgeball, but somehow sadder since Swaim isn't a villain
A couple reasons. He did it to show you that you would watch it. We are all so socially deprived, missed these beloved characters, and trained by Marvel Movies to watch until the very last scene after the credits. Its the perfect storm of human pavlovian dog behavior and morbid curiousity that Swaim brilliantly capitalized on to show us everything, even the things you thought you wanted to see, like what happens after "After Hours", but now you regret watching and can never unsee. Well played, Swaim, well played.
That was a brilliant joke. I kept thinking that it would be too obvious when he noticed the camera and slammed the laptop. Then, when it went on long enough to see him get another bone, put it back, and pick out a different partially eaten bone, I thought that they'd taken it so far that it actually _would_ be funny when he was dismayed with being recorded. He notices the camera, and he has so little of a reaction, I wasn't sure he'd really looked. The punchline, he moves on to worrying about the call.
Swaim doesn't care that we watched him eat chicken on the can, and that was why we saw.
It's a call back to the beginning where they were waiting for half an hour for him to join them and it's also the reason Soren told him to wash his hands.
Swaim eating chicken on the can was the reason I watched this video in the first place. Also, the conversation was nice :D
I have watched every episode of After Hours multiple times, it made me laugh uncontrollably through some of the hardest years of my life. I still watch them today. I’m so excited to see the whole crew back together!

I was scrolling the comments to find out who that was at 13:43. Partner hadn't even occurred to me. I thought I had read there were going to be cameos, though in retrospect that might have been the last one. Basically like others I just figured it was Cody or somebody.

It's silly but none the less true. I invested more in this show than I care to admit. Also Vonnegut podcast Swaim did with Alex Schmidt pulled me through a rough patch.

I met you guys at Calgary Expo a few years ago. The first year, Daniel couldn't stay for the meet and greet portion of your panel because he had to rush off to interview Rosario Dawson. You made special arrangements to meet up later at the convention so I could get his autograph on my After Hours poster. I showed up convinced you would be too busy or that you'd have forgotten, but you did turn up and I got my autograph, some photos and quite a long chat.
You were all amazing and kind. Definitely the highlight of an awesome convention. That poster still has a special place on my wall because of the awesome memory.
You were just as kind the next year when I had the pleasure of meeting you again. Getting to see Daniel finally interview Stan Lee is probably my all time favourite convention memory.
Thank you so much for all the laughs over so many years and especially for the kindness you showed an awkward Canadian girl in person at a convention held in a rodeo arena.

After Hours is still the show I use to introduce people to this crew, even though nowadays I'm not a huge fan of giving the old place views.
I’ve never stopped rewatching. I’m hoping my continued contribution to their watch time might send a message to whoever’s in charge
Old place has new management (according to the old crew members) so we shouldn't be biased against them, but... I know what you mean. Other than Small Beans, I also keep up with Soren & Dan on their Quick Questions podcast. Also Secretly Incredibly Fascinating for Shmitty with frequent guests from the old crew

I'd wonder why they don't just keep doing these but I've already noticed the view count for this video after a year. it should be way higher. If people would make others more aware of it, maybe they'd keep going

As much as seeing the crew all back together brings light into my life, the OPCD nod and ESPECIALLY the Does Not Compute nod just killed me. Does Not Compute was always my favourite series, it’s the one I still go back to and just binge watch every couple months.
I rewatch the Die Hard episode of OPCD CONSTANTLY.
I loved agents of cracked and a few other of their shows they never finished
This was the best series finale ever. Better than lost. Better than the sopranos, by far. Better than game of thrones (obviously). Though I will never see another, I feel happy knowing it was Soren who killed it.

I do 100% love how the writing has literally only gotten better with age and experience. Wonderful send-off that I am sad to watch go but loved experiencing. I will need to follow you guys in your next adventures.

This thing was packed full of references. I especially loved the "Do we have a clip?" from Daniel which doubles as a reference to the original format of After Hours and his recurring bit from The Cracked Podcast Live.
It's more directly referencing Obsessive Pop Culture Disorder, DOB's from Cracked. He regularly spoke with an unseen producer out of turn. He calls the reference out by name right after.
The references to OPCD and Does Not Compute did not go unnoticed

at one point i closed my eyes and just listened for about 5 minutes. suddenly they were back in the diner, in their familiar spots, having their familiar arguments, and it was just another episode of after hours. good times.
Based on the similar backgrounds I’m now convinced more than ever that Dan is holding his new boss hostage. That’s right John Oliver’s “White Void” is on the other side of the wall behind that lamp.
I hope you realize that hearing the gang talk about Ready Player One is something that I absolutely needed in my life. It makes me sad to think of a reality that After Hours isn't coming out with new episodes. There are so many good lines in this- so much depth for table-read years later. Much Love.
I can honestly tell you that Cracked After Hours is a invaluable to me. I LISTEN to the episodes most days be cuz they lull me into a comforted familiar space before I go to sleep 😂

This is his streaming room for when he interacts with people outside the caste. Keeps them happier with an illusion of equality they could never possess.
It took a minute for these guys to hit their stride, the dialog felt scripted at the beginning but after a third of the way in it actually felt like a genuine conversation among friends. Superb acting guys. God I miss cracked...the real one I mean.
All of them "hanging up" one after the other really drove home the finality that this is it, that it's finally, really, completely over.
I'm sad that it's gone, but I'm happy that it existed in the first place. Thank you for this, and for all the laughs preceding it.

I've actually saved all the After Hours and Escort Missions from Cracked. I was worried that they'd all be taken down one day. They brought me a lot of comfort during some tough times, I sometimes binge them, like they're one, big movie. I miss them. Thanks for setting this up, Michael.

This actually helped cure a little bit of my depression not even a joke, my therapist said I might need to start watching afterhours daily to help me. Idc how much it would cost please please figure out a way to bring these back. I’ve adored all the iterations, though I like the OG crew the best I kinda love all of it anyway! It’s just perfect!

How did this fly under the radar for me until now. I absolutely adored After Hours and this was a great way to finally finish it off properly. Much love to the gang, and thank you for the many many laughs you've given me over the years. The writing and character work on this still felt just as tight as the originals.

This was painfully enjoyable. I miss these guys sooooo much. I wish they kept doing this forever. Even in this format. Even if I see them reading from the script which breaks the magic a little bit, but since life is not perfect any more, this would be a small price to pay to be able to enjoy After Hours again.

Surprised no one brought up that Quaid's "reactivation" in Total Recall was possibly just part of the recall experiance. Pretty sure the title of his vacation was Blue Skies On Mars, which is literally how the movie ends.

The novel is setup in such a way that you don't really know what's reality and what's a Recall fantasy.
It's amazing how well you all fell back into character after such a long time, and how perfectly apt the script was to the original production. I mean, I guess you did it for a really long time, but still, well done. Thanks for the send off, folks.

I'm sad I didn't catch this when it first aired but now I have got arounds to watching I'm reminded of the golden age of the simpsons whenever I watch After Hours, this one included, both have incredibly tight, funny writing, excellent deliveries from the actors, a feeling of nostalgia and honestly iconic characters. In only a few lines I am immediately reminded of each character's "deal" and the way the bounce off of one another never gets boring even though there is essentially no character development or overarching plot.
I'm glad everyone is doing well enough to appear at least and as a long time admirer of your work I wish everyone involved the best of luck in all their endeavours even if we don't see this style of collaboration any more.
I am late to the after hours and sad to see that this is no longer a regular occurrence. Truly amazing group of people entertaining us with dialog. I literally watched all the after hours content in one 24 hr day.

I love Soren's preface to the Total Recall argument since it's literally the worst possible kind of escape. It only takes 9 minutes, because you're either too poor or the world is too dystopic for you to afford a true vacation. Instead of enjoying any other form of vacation, you get a 9-minute lie session and then back to the mines with you
If all reality is is our brains interpreting various stimuly how would an actual vacation s memories be any more valid?

Maybe that's fine for the rich or middle class, but Total Recall is set in a dystopia. If you labor for a living you'd want that extra time for your body to heal and probably catch up on sleep
