They let Druid be bad for like… a month or 2 (Whizbang’s workshop) after being the best or 2nd class in standard 2-3 years straight and people lost their shit about losing their ramp cards so immediately next set, they gave the babies back their bottle and here we are again, with this nonesense.
I'll be honest here. I think the damage is already done, with no real way to close the metaphorical pandoras box again. So many people have already moved on from Hearthstone and don't intend on returning, especially with the insanity and powerful level reaching highs that no one ever wanted. The Demon Seed WILL be broken again because unless if each stage costs an obscene amount of life to trigger each stage, it will always become broken again over time. Ramp Druid is just sad, because I used to love the deck for slamming down big imposing minions that demand answers. Hell I still play Jungle Giants Druid because its what I think of as the most interesting way to do so. Now its just that but made broken in ways that makes it less fun and genuinely frustrating to go up against.
1. The fact that they even JOKE in the patch notes about how many times they've nerfed Zilliax and that they'll likely have to nerf it again...points for honesty I guess... 2. Pirate DH and Demon Seed got *facked* so I'd say this was a good patxh at the end if the day. But, I also agree with people who are saying its too little and too late. The damage is alredy done. Unless completely reworked, The Demon Seed WILL be broken again sooner or later. This is like putting a lit lavender-scented candle in a bathroom that smells like crap. You didn't fix the problem, you just made the room not smell as bad....
I think I fully understand why most quests are not fun to play with and against: it always in your mulligan, it always requests you to play same certain cards and quest rewards are guaranteed win. So it's a sort of otk combo deck with great consistency. Otk combo decks are known to be polarising. No one wants to play "rock paper scissors" in hearthstone. Good decks that are fun and balanced have multiple win conditions, so player can adapt to matchups and randomness, which makes gameplay different every time.
While Darkglare was overpowered, I feel like slapping a yugioh-esque "once per turn" on the effect would keep the card as being the same card but worse. This... is just a new card and I'm not a fan of when you do that.
The Hearthstone team rediscovering why *Charge* is difficult to balance and why other card games have *"once per x"* clauses to control the potential of abusable cards is definetly something....
Control Rogue does exist in standard with Tar Slick + Health Drink for a ton of healing. Like the synergy is there, it's just that there are stronger strategies. Talgath still looks bad and I don't think it would see play, especially when Tar Slick exists. So if you're gonna buff a useless Legendary to still suck, why not buff Uluu (stacking effects) or Gorm (awakening sooner)?
Finally, holy hell. Now I don't have to listen to every asshole telling me "Demon Seed and Painlock aren't even that bad" after being in Diamond 5 hell of nothing but Pirate rogues, Pirate DH, and Painlocks. If only they did it sooner I might care a bit more.
just play elemental mage its one of the cheapest decks to make and games end in like 5min so u can play out like 10games in an hour. iv been playing for 2 months and hit the highest rank with that deck both seasons or w.e u call them. dungar druid is still busted too thats my back up deck.
@@jpkush5198 I mean that's swell and all but I'd rather play what I'd like to play instead of whatever will deal with problems the fastest or most efficiently.
Shaman (somehow didn't get nerfed XD) dominates standard currently. The Sonya rogue deck was abysmal to play vs even against bad players because getting multiple Griftah amulets is just game winning on its own (hunter) on top of doing the other shit rogue can do. Dungar druid is literally a point and click adventure game you play green cards and make actually 0 decisions, worlds exemplified this a lot. Starship warlock / infinite warrior are definitely cool but weren't really playable on ladder. Pirate DH actually just had infinite damage and infinite cards for an aggro deck which is absurd, and do not get me started on paladinstone
@@FlareIsGone I think shaman got hit decently hard (2 of the best performing cards in the deck got hit). Besides that I'm wondering what a good meta is in your opinion? This meta was skill dependend with little openers that outright won the game leading to interesting games where decisions mattered (notable exception dungar druid in which I completely agree with you).
@@tauntischeat8931It has been really fun to play standard last couple of expansions. Honestly I don't even understand this nerf. The problem with Demon Seed wasn't the speed, but the fact that it could go infinite unavoidable 30 damage each turn either with Mass Prod or Fatigue. Giants could be dealt with, Darkglare could be removed before it could do much, but putting your slothful Controllish opponent on a time limit is what's actually unfair. He either had to lethal you on turn 5 (as a control deck lol, gl with that) or counter evil with more evil and play Aggro Priest. But in retrospect, as a Warlock player, I'm fine with ANY nerf taking place. Who knows, maybe people finally remember my favourite archetype (Evenlock) is as good as ever?
I think that demon seed will still have close to 100% win rate against slower decks. It's just slower now, but as frustrating as it was. It must either be banned or reworked. No one deserves to play against this nonsense.
If pain warlock is ever a thing I think so, it’s now just one of many medium size minions you can get for free by doing something. but it doesn’t make the archetype anymore
the fact that they let demon seed, a card that singlehandedly drove players away (& from a corporate perspective, money) be relevant for so long seems pretty counterintuitive to the Blizzard plan considering how greedy they are. but i guess alls well that ends wel?
"There are no non-darkglare versions of the deck" well yeah, but there might be after it gets nerfed. They wanna preempt that. Though I guess the fatigue version died with Mass Production. Maybe an XL version?
@@ultimatewinfestation7194 Of course it is dead. Seedlock would either have to be without darkglare or not exist at all. The point is that since non-darkglare versions have been possible in the past, they want to nerf the stages of the questline to make them weaker as well.
@@DvirPick The quest will most likely go back to it’s fatigue roots. I doubt the quest is going to die because it’s clown on slower non combo decks but it’s a lot more niece now.
Tbh demon seed is probably still broken. The swing turns of 2 8/8s, a 4/4, a 3/4, etc turn 4 are gone which is massive but you will still take infinite damage. They made it more of a combo deck instead of some tempo combo deck but it's still very polarizing to fight against
I feel like without darkglare there isnt anything they can do combo-wise that's all that scary. Anything reliable probably wouldn't kill until like turn 8 or 9, which seems wayy too slow for a wild combo deck.
I mean, the deck is probably still gonna be good, but it’s gonna be much more in line with everything else, at least. You at least have more time to kill them before they complete it.
