      Ok, yes, most of us agree. Now, HOW?? That's what Critical Race Theory is. It's a method to examine the law and policies so that we CAN judge people by their character, and not the color of their skin. Because there are a lot of unintended consequences when we pass laws and pretend that our society doesn't have race, or racism, or history, or people who don't understand any of those things. Congress may pass a law they THINK helps, but it turns out because of past laws or policies or social issues, the new law actually harms the people they are trying to help, or others they never thought of. Like making a new law that poor people in good neighborhoods can get home loans, without realizing many black poor people of excellent character live in "bad" neighborhoods, because at one time they were forced to. You have to know that history of Jim Crow and red lining, to understand that a law that discriminates based on the quality of your neighborhood will unequally impact people of different races, ethnicities, and even religious groups. Hassidic Jews are more likely to live in bad neighborhoods than Amish. So, the Amish could more easily get a guaranteed loan. Would that be fair? Would it actually accomplish what was intended? Can we re-write the law so that it accomplishes what you want to do, without being so unfair? That's what Critical Race Theory is. It is exactly what those Republicans said they want, but they don't even know it.

    Critical race theory divides.

    • @janedoe3915
      @janedoe3915 3 года назад

      If that’s true, then history divides and we should stop teaching all history. Cherry picking history and just teaching kids the history that makes white ppl look good, like they’ve never made mistakes not since Columbus arrived, not since some humans skin lightened as the early humans began migrating out of Africa and further from the equator, isn’t history. We learn from both the great things ppl have done as well as the not so great things humans have done. We cannot understand how we got to where we r today unless we learning about the good and the bad of the past. Regardless of skin color or region from we or our ancestors came from prior to America, regardless if Charles Manson and his followers were fair skinned, or black Americans who have committed crimes in the past or today, it doesn’t reflect on others of that same skin color or generations of past, it doesn’t reflect on me, or u, or anyone else who wasn’t involved. Learning doesn’t divide, ignorance/the absence of learning divides. The more u know, the more one can understand where we’ve come from, how we got here, and what choices we want to make in the future.

    If your subconsciously racist, that is not racist. If you have conscious racist thoughts, that is still not racist. Only when you take racist actions, your racist. That goes for any person regardless of their individual perceived racial identity. So yes, even those who claim to be anti-racist (CRT), and commit racist actions, are racist.
    Systematic racism is alive and well today, but its not against people of color.
    If " true" American history is the motivation behind CRT, why isn't the history of all races, that make up our society, being pushed? The answer is CRT has a racists agenda instead of an "all" inclusions one.

      If u think learning US history is about teaching children their bad bc of their skin color then u have a warped sense of history and r likely very insecure about urself. History has nothing to do w/today’s population. When the British “discovered” America, many white ppl began moving to America, and fought w/Native Americans for control of the land, does that make u feel guilty? Does that make u a bad person? When the mostly British Americans w/the help of the French, fought the British military during the revolution for our independence from British rule, does that make u feel guilty? Since the white Americans fought the revolution, does that make u feel like a bad person bc u have the same color of skin, bc ur ancestors came from Britain, bc ur ancestors may have fought on the American side of the revolution, or fought on the British empire side of the revolution? I’m white w/my dna showing I’m 98% British/Irish when tested. Learning about the white ppl who fought the Native Americans for the land and then the white Americans who fought British empire during the revolution for their independence doesn’t make me feel bad for being white. Why would it? That’s like saying white ppl should feel bad for the crimes committed by Charles Manson and his followers bc the were white. Do u feel guilty for what Hitler and Mussolini did bc their skin was white? Get real! If u really feel guilty or bad for what someone else did simply bc they have the same color of skin, then u’ve got some personal psychological issues and should seek a mental health provider to assist u in working through ur thoughts, feelings, and insecurities that u feel about urself. Learning about the racism, misogyny, sexism, patriarchal society of the past or how systemic racism in government policies and institutions has impacted certain groups in our society helps us to understand how we got to where we r today, how we can avoid repeating the mistakes of the past, and how we can create a better tomorrow for all of us. One day, white ppl will be a minority in the US. If we don’t want to be treated the way minorities have been treated in this country in the past, we had better all learn from the past and treat others the way we’d like to be treated. Dividing ppl into categories based on how we look when our dna is so mixed that “races” don’t really exist. There’s only one race, it’s called the human race. We’d have a lot less conflict in the world if we stopped trying to dived ppl in groups.

      That's Ancestry. It's literally in the name. Ancestor - Ancestry.
      Race on the other hand is a social construct. Social construct being an idea that is created and perpetuated by people interacting in society. Race being a social category based on but not inherent to the phenotypical expression of human characteristics such as black/white skin, eye shape, hair texture. The social category of race has enormous social implications, especially how people will both explicitly and implicitly perceive you. And that is the essence of what it means to say race is a social construct.

      I think you guys are over thinking or over analyzing it...at the core of everything..it is a social construct..where your ancestors came from..they where naturally in a social construct. Therefore "race" is a natural outcome of being born a color and socially sticking with what you are most alike. A cat will tolerate another cat it's never seen before, a cat will not tolerate a dog no matter how calm the dog is just because the dog is different. In most cases of course.
      When it comes to us humans..the studying of this "theory" could fix alot of subconscious issues Americans can't get passed in its current state. Of course it would be done through shady ways, media manipulating and brainwashing. But really the only people that are truly opposed to the teaching of you really understand the importance of it are the people who understand the benefits they get out of the society the way it is. So they will fight it, and say no..there is no such thing as racism and it doesn't exist anymore, there is no benefit to being Caucasian compared to being black, there is no systematic racism..all the while in the back of ALL of our heads..we know none of that is true.
      But giving people the knowledge and understanding would mean some people having to step off of their high horses, and share the wealth and the benefits go away over time.
      Long story short it is infact social construct. Your ancestors got together as a group of the same society and color, and said hey, we need slaves, let's use blacks not whites. Which is fine it's just history.
      But that history should always be taught because it is crucial to American history.

The numbers them advantage to wealth , power , education and laws will always favor the majority. Now, I live in Taiwan the aboriginal people and South East are looked as inferior. Not by all but most ethic Chinese do look down non Chinese , that includes whites . Whites are here to entertain their children. As a P.E teacher basketball Coach they change the grade I give to please the students. They say really horrible things to my wife for marrying an American. My son is always insulted for being a mix . They hate he is faster and stronger than them in basketball. He once came super upset from basketball court .I A Taiwanese boy had thrown a cigarette in his face and burned under his eye. They told him go to America where he belongs. He is a mixed race teenager but looks white . I had to tell him don't fight back , it just gets worse then. Be better than them , work harder them and never fight back. I hope I did right because at 15 he is the best player on the school team . Yet , behind his back they say things in Chinese that are very racist. Here they think foreigners are too stupid to learn Chinese. I learned it a long time ago but it shocks them when my son and speak it. So you see racism is every where . It is in human nature . You just have to work harder to over it. However, my point they majority always in favor of themselves because humans are selfish. You can change nature by education and laws . You love your enemies and become better than them .That is how things get better.

    The problem with CRT is that it blatantly ignores history. It uses the modern definitions of racial groups and falsely applies them to groups in the past. What counts as "white" has not been consistent for the past several hundred years. Irish were not treated the same as English, Italians were not the same as Spaniards, and so forth. Not all groups benefited, especially non-protestants. You cannot effectively "pin the blame" on a single skin shade, and even if you did the only part of that group that will actually pay the bill will be the weak and defenseless. For example, calling a poor eastern European family "colonizers" doesn't make any sense, you're just being ignorant and venting your anger through racism.

    "Words That Wound: Critical Race Theory, Assaultive Speech, and the First Amendment"

    CRT promotes the notion that the fact that a group is measurably superior is proof that everybody in that group is guilty; and, that a group being inferior is proof that everybody in that group is a victim.
    Further: this principle projects through time; asserting that what happened to the long dead projects onto the guilt or victimhood of the living; even if the living never experienced it at all...........
    CRT uses history and statistics to justify using government force to implement racial discrimination.

    The basis of Critical Theory is the investigation of history to understand our current culture, and how that culture impacts outcomes for groups/individuals in society. Critical Race Theory just highlights the specific impact of our cultural understanding and history with race. If you agree that slavery was done on the basis of skin color/race, and you agree that it, along with Jim Crow laws, had an impact on our culture and outcomes, you are a proponent of Critical thought. What they are doing is the equivalent judging people for not paying their rent while denying that the pandemic might have impacted their ability to do so...

    • @ryunsummers9283
      @ryunsummers9283 2 года назад

      Slavery is not based on race. It is simply based on the ability to enslave. Over the sweep of history, more whites have been enslaved by other whites (and for that matter, more blacks have been enslaved by other blacks) than the blacks who were enslaved in the Americas. It is a characteristic of slavery that the slave is dehumanized. The white Slavs (where the term "slave" originated) were dehumanized by their white slave masters, as were the black slaves held by black slave masters in Africa, and in fact still are in some parts of Africa. Whites were the first group in the history of the world who made the effort to eradicate slavery worldwide. Read Thomas Sowell.

      @Mark Willoughby you don't even know what critical race theory is. It is history that's being taught. There are racist people who do not want to confront the past. It is an inconvenient truth our past. Just because historical teachings make certain people feel "uncomfortable" is not a reason to not teach something. That's ridiculous. It is up to us to make of the teachings as we will. Racism is built into the fabric of our country from the beginning. Racism is even in our constitution when they said enslaved Africans were only 3/5 a human. You must learn, acknowledge, and elevate from our past traumas. It is written that we strive to be a more perfect union. There's no way of doing that if you do not learn from the past and make change to reflect the democratic ideals that we aspire to. What us absolutely disgusting and asinine is that after the Tusla race massacre, no white racist murderers from that day were punished or brought to justice for killing hundreds of innocent African Americans. Their descendants were never compensated for millions of dollars in generational wealth destroyed in one day in 1921. There is nothing worse than that.

Many of us are sick and tired about learning about white history in america. We want to learn other people's contributions to America. These schools who are scared of CRT still wrongly teach that Columbus discovered the new world. Thats obviously beyond wrong. People of color did. How can a race of people isolate themselves from others by deliberately creating a label for themselves such as " "African" Americans which in itself isolates them from all others but then turn around and protest that they lack inclusion and equality to all others..How is this logical? We are all Americans and if I were to say I am a caucasion american or a european american I would be called a racist..THIS IS THE WHOLE PROBLEM !!! You cant categorize yourself as different and then turn around and complain your being treated differently..I have posed this question to many of my friends of African decent and they say its to preserve their culture..If I was to preserve mine as a white person then I am called racist But my TRUE culture is that I am an American..and so is every other person who holds citizenship..It is totally illogical to separate races and label them..African American, Asian American, Native Americans, Hispanic Americans....JUST BE AN AMERICAN !!!!

      CRT Believers crumble whenever I raise this - though i feel like some realize a bit that they were emotionally manipulated into it; they didn't decide or choose or believe based on a healthy educational process.

      (4) There solutuons are often (such as Kendra Ibrim's) are literally a Facist regime by definition, or close to it.
      Enough is enough!

      No one is obsessed with race except the media. They are paid by both parties. Many of us have actually experienced racism (systemic and individual) and are still not "obsessed" with it. We just know how to be careful because we do know how life works in the US.

    Dan. 2:40 And the fourth kingdom shall be as strong as iron, inasmuch as iron breaks in pieces and shatters everything; and like iron that crushes, that kingdom will break in pieces and crush all the others. 41 Whereas you saw the feet and toes, partly of potter’s clay and partly of iron, the kingdom shall be divided; yet the strength of the iron shall be in it, just as you saw the iron mixed with ceramic clay. 42 And as the toes of the feet were partly of iron and partly of clay, so the kingdom shall be partly strong and partly fragile. 43 As you saw iron mixed with ceramic clay, they will mingle with the seed of men; but they will not adhere to one another, just as iron does not mix with clay. (NJKV)
    All this race theory is nothing but a bunch of B.S that is only dividing this country at its seams and will contribute to its downfall in my opinion. Are people trying to circumvent the obvious? For there is only one race "The Human Race" and any other way to close the inequality gap can only come from knowledge of the truth among humans and not by trying to invent a magic potion that will make people color blind.
    As noted by, when TMH speaks HE does it in reference to His people and when He told Rebekah that she had two different nations in her womb what HE meant was two different bloodlines that will never come together no matter what.
    In their search for equal treatment and their desire to mix with the white bloodline and be equals, Backs and the whites that support them are only pouring fuel in a pit that cannot be quenched.
    There is a great divide between night and day and there is great divide between Esau (White) and Jacob (Black), anyone who tells you otherwise is just a liar or just wants your money.
    Folks, there are only two bloodlines in this world. One that was created for the end and one that will usher a new beginning. No man nor the devil can bring the two together.

    I'm racial-fluid, none of this applies to me. Can we do a story on people who mis-race people who are racial-fluid? I thinks it's so awful that people keep telling me im white when I decide to identify as black. I should sue.
