I’ve used my Westside Reverse Hyper for two years nearly everyday. 1. It never rocks which is sweet. 2. I no longer suffer from sciatica. Great machine.
If you live in Southern Ontario, Canada, you can drive to North Toronto (Markham/Richmond Hill, but technically Conchord) and pick up from their showroom warehouse and save a ton on shipping too ! I’ve purchased a 4 plate weight set, industrial trap and EZ curl bar, and an arm blaster from BoS and love them all !!
Ok Coop, you convinced me! I placed the order for mine today using your link. I started doing reverse hypers just using a chair and I was amazed at how well it helped with back pain. I noticed the change when running and jumping rope so quickly and dramatically. My goal with this machine is to add weight and work additional movements in my home gym that weren't previous possible. I know companies probably don't like when you mention the negatives of their products. However, I find it very helpful and gives your review credibility. Also, there is less buyer's remorse when you know what you're getting. Sometimes the value aspect combined with full knowledge of what made that product a value is important. All training equipment are luxuries; the main thing is that they get the job done and last. I'll leave the luxury "features and finishes" for others. Thanks again Coop, I hope this piece of equipment lives up to your review.
I'm starting to regret this purchase. BOS used UPS to ship the packages. This piece of equipment comes in three boxes. Each piece was sent on a different day. The final package has been delayed three time and still hasn't arrived. I contact BOS to get help working with UPS and they basically said I was on my own. The first two boxes both arrived with damage and the second was completed torn in half and taped back together. I've never had poor packaging or a bad delivery experience when going with REP or Rogue who use FedEX. I'm waiting till all three packages finally get here so I can evaluate what is damaged or missing for the boxes. While this doesn't speak to the quality of the product it has definitely turned me off from ever ordering from BOS in the future.
OK, the third box came in. The box was trashed with parts spilling out of it. I was shocked and pleased to find that all the parts made it. There was quite a bit of scratching and cosmetic damage to the machine. The center pad was punctured but Bells of Steel said they would send a replacement. They also offered a 15% discount on my next purchase but I told that was unnecessary. While the poor delivery isn't on Bells of Steel; the poor packaging is. That being said I really like the machine and have enjoyed using it so far.
Living in London ON, I find the shipping from Rogue and Bells very comparable. The shipping for Bells is cheaper but also takes longer to receive. I ordered a landmine from Bells, and it took 15 days to receive from the day I ordered it. Anything from Rogue of this size is generally delivered within 2-3 days. The shipping from Bells was $26 and Rogue would have been $41.
Coop has corrupted my mind! I was buying baby food last week and the sticker was coming off My first thought was, “They should laser cut this label on!” Love the channel and keep up the good work!
Seems like BOS continuing to deliver high value and targeting that demographic. Love to sqee multi-use pieces of equipment, especially with space always at a premium.
I have a bells of steel functional trainer, the lat pull down, and this combo hyper/glute ham. I’m happy with every piece I’ve bought from bells of steel and glad they are getting more attention.
Would really love to see a review of the vulcan kraken-hyper!! Seriously considering replacing my abrahm ghd 2.0 and z-hyper with a single combo unit. Thanks for all the great reviews!
I have this unit and I'm quite happy with it. Definitely agree with most of the points made in this video. Personally, my biggest comment is definitely about the padding. It's fine, but can be insufficient for certain things. But overall excellent value for money and I use mine a lot.
I bought mine a little over 2 years ago (2020) and I love it. I loved this review because it hits on some of the stuff I didn't like about it but still, it was worth the buy. I also purchased mine for $800 along with their super solid weight tree/bar holder which was $249 at the time and have no complaints about that either. I use my BoS Reverse Hammer regularly and it's always felt to me that it was a pretty smart purchase for my home gym.
I didn’t have the space for two permanent pieces of equipment, just my squat stand on my 8’x8’ platform, so I got the Rogue Scout Hyper, which collapses and stores easy. Unfortunately it costs almost as much as a BoS reverse hammer but at least I got my own reverse hyper
Those guide rods look like an AWESOME feature. The absolute worst part of the GHD setup at my gym is trying to move the rickety ass footplate into the right position
When talking about footprint of equipment like this, can you please include the surrounding space you'll need to make it usable? Scoping out a footprint for a rack requires space on both sides for the barbell and putting plates on.
Been considering buying this as I own a squat rack and a few attachments I bought from BOS. There shipping and customer service is rough, as far the products there okay. My rogue stuff has held up alot better, I only went through BOS because I'm canadian and rogue gouges us for shipping.
Hey coop! Love the content! Always chuckle when you say ONLY a 2 car garage you should see what we have to make do with in the UK! Would love to see a video on a plate loaded hack squat/leg press combo and what your thoughts are on leg developer bench attatchments.
I totally plan on getting this, but I’m moving soon, so I’ll wait until after, but I’ll use your link to support the channel! Thank you so much for your outstanding reviews! I really think this will help my back and glutes a lot! 💪🏼
Got my BoS reverse hammer for $700 from their showroom as a returned, opened, unassembled product. I don’t like the placement of the center pad bolts. Other than that I like it pretty well. Can’t complain for $700, but I wouldn’t spend $1,200+ tax on it.
Agree! I’ve seen other reviews and dicided to buy a rogue abram instead. Love the machine with every piece of my body but the footprint is very very large
I love your reviews. That being said can we get a leg press round up? Like best leg press hack squat combo machine vs stand alone home leg press! If you guys have that already, point me in that direction
I want to say I ❤️ your RUclips Channel. You are passionate, you give alternatives (budget opt), and you provide honest reviews. You should review the Ironmaster Dumbbells with the Heavy Handle vs Powerblocks (I am sure you will change your personal preference to the Ironmaster).
love my ghd! for back, core, glutes and hamstrings they work amazing! bought mine used for $130 so i dont know if i would drop full price before ever trying one.
If I have space for this in the home gym, I would probably get the functional trainer and then belt squat machine first. This is nice but it takes up lots of space in a home gym.
I love your videos man, and I wanted to ask if you can do another video on the cheapest weight plates off amazon. I'm a teenager with limited amount of money but a very passionate lifter.
Could you do a comparison/review of wishbone/linebacker landmine attachments?? Don’t know if Titan’s budget version is worth the money, but can’t really afford purmotion’s either!
Hey coop love the videos I have been watching for awhile now was hoping you were going to make some garage gym reviews merchandise soon like hats hoodies T-shirts quarter zips
Is there a rach attachment that compares to this? I see Titan has a reverse hyper rack attachment, so as Gorilla fitness (VERY expensive) but it feels like a hassle putting in on/off, units look flimsy plus would take nearly as much place for storage so what's your take on it? Thnaks!
I'm into fitness and all but I'm kind of a newb when it comes to the specialized equipment. To me a "reverse" hyper extension means "flexion"... Sorry just a grammar thing to me, also what does the acronym GHD stand for? I think it would help if you took a minute in the beginning of the video to explain that. Just knit-picking.
I’ve done both and if I’m outfitting a commercial gym then 100% dedicated units are way way better, sturdier etc. But for a garage gym or even a small power lifting club - this is great.
“I didn’t do a review of the 1.0 because it would have been negative”, “I received this free, but that doesn’t affect my review”. It’s a thin line isn’t it.
Bells of Steel has had some really high price hikes compared to the other gym equipment companies. It is quickly leaving the realm of a value brand. This is unfortunate because in my experience they have better customer service than Titan, Rep, or Rogue.
THAT is not Texas State! That's a Texas Tech University machine. As an alumni, please let me take it off your hands since you hate our motto so much! 🙏
Am I the only one that thinks BoS is kinda just a newer slightly better titan? First gen always sucks, and all their new stuff looks like other companies stuff, but cheaper.
And again ggr only toutes equipment he is invested in commercially and forever only squat racks. I've switched to powertec lever gym, does everything and more a squat rack could in a smaller space and far cheaper. But you'd never hear about powertec from ggr channel because won't get paid to give a postive review.
I’ve used my Westside Reverse Hyper for two years nearly everyday. 1. It never rocks which is sweet. 2. I no longer suffer from sciatica. Great machine.
I'd love it see a full reveiw of the Frankenhyper. Especially comparing it to the Rouge Donkey.

Really appreciate the in depth look at our GHD Coop! 😁
If you're Canadian you're also saving an absurd amount of money in shipping compared to anything Rogue or Titan

@@stevecox3733that’s a significant price difference for such a small item?

i Bought my in 2020 as well for $800.
For the center pad, I just leave the bolts out and just let it sit on there when I do reverse hypers… the curved lip on it keeps it from moving
Those guide rods look like an AWESOME feature. The absolute worst part of the GHD setup at my gym is trying to move the rickety ass footplate into the right position
Sometimes a GGR video drops on something I have been eyeing and I have mixed feelings cause I'm like, dang now everyone is going to know about it 😂
When talking about footprint of equipment like this, can you please include the surrounding space you'll need to make it usable? Scoping out a footprint for a rack requires space on both sides for the barbell and putting plates on.

Soild review as always. Would love to see a review on the mikolo power rack with lat pulldown. Really want to know if it's worth buying.
I've got a full size RH and commercial GHD, and my space is only like 330 SF. I've got a 6 post rack in there too.
If I have space for this in the home gym, I would probably get the functional trainer and then belt squat machine first. This is nice but it takes up lots of space in a home gym.
@garagegymreviews how did you go about finding/buying from a college/university? I'd love to get some discount stuff from a school

Can you do a shootout of folding racks? BoS folding rack vs rogue RML 390? Im running out of room in my garage!
Trying to buy a leg press. Can you do a review on the FORCE USA leg press/hack squat combo? The compact and full size options.
The westside hyper that portable should have a way to stack some weight to make it more stable
Damn Coop's shirt though... I want a review of that
Can the reverse hammer be adjusted to a position that allows for reverse nordic curls as well? That would be a great feature.
Could you do a comparison/review of wishbone/linebacker landmine attachments?? Don’t know if Titan’s budget version is worth the money, but can’t really afford purmotion’s either!
What's your opinion on reverse hyper vs regular hypertension (Romen chair). Also opinions on the sunny hyperextension+ dip and the teeter dex 2.
Coop, please review the Rogue Donkey.
