Why are you no longer in law school?? Asking for someone who just applied and nervous

i have a video all about this on my channel! simply went into it for the wrong reasons-- wasn't passionate about it and it wasn't the right journey for me. i totally could have continued and done well, but i wouldn't have been following my heart. like i always say, just because it wasn't for me, doesn't mean it may not be for you!! no need to be nervous

I FULLY feel you on the embarrassment part! Law school was always apart of the plan since I was a kid. During my sophomore and junior year of undergrad I didn't feel it in my heart anymore. I always love politics and decide to go that route until the internship I was betting on didn't fall through. Being embarrassed and confused with not having a goal or a job lined up after graduation scared me because I always had a plan. Yet during my last semester my professor kept putting the idea of law back on the table. I decided to go to law school and being studying for the lsat since August. Thank you for being honest with your story because this journey isn't for the weak and is hard.

So unbelievably glad I found this video, I’m a fellow screenwriting undergrad major pursuing entertainment law! About to take the LSAT for the second time on Monday and apply to schools later this month. We have super similar stats so this was really, really, REALLY inspiring as I prepare to be done with this stupid test and send my applications in 😭 Thanks so much for sharing your journey!!! ❤

Hi, Patty. Finding your account on TikTok, following you and now learning your past made me feel like this is a call from God, just like you, we are similar. I had a difficult past, and had to sit for an exam which doesn't allow me to get myself into a Law School. My second option was Scriptwriting, and now, I'm doing Media Production, which as what you've mentioned, our route alikely different. Despite doing Scriptwriting, my heart yearns and felt heavy everytime anyone mentions Law or anything related to Law School and at one point, I was depressed. Your video, this video gave me hope, that one day, with this Degree I'm doing, I would be able to get into Law School. It would take longer than I expected, but still I can get in. Being older than the majority, is not wrong or something to be embarrased about, thank you for the reminders. Thank you for making me feel better, or at least lifting this burden in my heavy heart for at least once after almost five years. Sending you so much love! xx

The country I'm in has a different standardised law test (not the LSAT) but it's still highly competitive, and i attempted it once last year but didn't get in :( funnily what you said in the video were the exact things i was told too ("law is a long career, a gap year or two won't really matter, you just have to believe in yourself") and it's comforting to know that despite our regional and social differences, we can relate on this one thing :D i'm taking a gap year rn and my test will be held in december, and what you said about believing that is has to happen, there's no way it won't, you just gotta put in the effort- it really comforted me. all the best for law school, i hope i get into my dream university like you!

I'm applying this fall and I'm so excited and also nervous! I'm 27, I took some time off in undergrad and worked to kind of decide what direction I wanted to take, and I finally decided I should be what I always wanted to be when I grew up, now that I have the confidence. Now I'm finally graduating with my bachelor's next spring, yay! I work full-time and don't have any family help so I'm not able to be able to quit working unfortunately, but I was lucky enough to qualify for a fee-waiver and that helped with prep materials a lot! I also caved and got a tutor haha. But I am SO glad I did, because I've improved tons.
I relate what you said about the LSAT, though. It's been EXTREMELY hard! I don't naturally think that way so learning a whole new way of thinking has been a real challenge! I've been studying for almost a year now. I took the April test and bombed it with a 151, but I retook it a couple of days ago and feel MUCH better. I've been scoring higher in PTs too, so that's hopeful! Working in healthcare full time while doing undergrad and studying for the LSAT isn't easy, so I have to often remember to be kind to myself. During this process, my boyfriend realized he was naturally really good at the LSAT (lucky him, haha) and he has been studying and doing REALLY well. He's tutored me now as well and wants to be a tutor for 7sage or something in the near future!
I also relate because I also really want to hurry up and get in as soon as possible, especially because I'm already in my late 20s and have spent time since I was 18 in work that I was very unhappy in. However, if I need to wait a cycle to get my LSAT better if need be, I definitely will. People much older than me apply, and it's better to hold off and get a better score and full ride! I do kinda hope that I do score well on this June test and I don't have to take it anymore, because man, I am TIRED haha.
I am so happy for you, though! You're extremely inspiring and I enjoyed watching this :) good luck in law school!!

your story and mine have some similarities! I also took the LSAT and got a score that was lower than I knew I could achieve and used it to apply to schools and got accepted to one I wasn't actually jazzed about. For me, at my job there was a near-death experience and that really made me investigate if i was gonna settle, so i redid the LSAT, got a 99th percentile score, and I am about to reapply, apps literally open tomorrow

Same here, May I ask for tips for the significant improvement ? Thanks

    • @nicholasleon7819
      @nicholasleon7819 2 месяца назад

@@jessic33 personally, I think the difference for me was I was able to dedicate a lot more time towards studying for my final attempt.
After the aforementioned near-death experience (I didnt nearly die, but I was closely involved with rescuing someone) I quit my job and studied full time for 8 weeks and that was the difference between my previous and final scores.
Obviously not everyone can quit their jobs, I was really lucky to be in a position to do so, but I dont think that should be the takeaway.
Rather than saying: everyone quit your job and study full time, I think what everyone should know is you need to spend a lot of time and focus on the LSAT. THere is unfortunately no way around it for 99% of people, we just have to spend a ton of time of focused practice in order to see the results.
I hope that was helpful, I realize that my answer boils down to "I just studied more," but at the end of the day that was what helped me make that jump.

    • @jessic33

    Hi,
I need some help / advice. I’m from the US and I started undergrad in fall 2019 and due to family circumstances (passing) everything changed for my family and I.
I was online for 3 and 1/2 years 2019-2022. So I didn’t do clubs or have any leadership opportunities. I didn’t do internships. I worked part time but it was just a retail job (nothing to do with law).
In fall 2023 I’ve been redoing my 3rd for university in Canada. But I didn’t do any leadership things, I don’t have a job, and I can’t do an internship this summer because I’m only going studying for the LSAT.
Should I still focus on going to law school or just do a masters? My mom says I need a backup plan. But I’ve read that masters is a waste if you know you want to go to law school.

Hello. I am eight years removed from physical therapy school. My first four years of undergrad I had a 2.77 GPA. Spent two more years in undergrad to fix my grades and got a 3.9 over those two years before finally going to PT school and getting a 3.8 during those three years of grad school.
since I have four years of terrible undergrad grades, is it impossible to get a full ride to a T14 even if I were to get a stellar LSAT since they focus on undergrad grades? I know getting into T14 isn’t everything but I want to keep my options open as I don’t know what speciality I want to go into. I am fixated on getting a full ride because I still have six figures of student loans from PT school (got it down from 210 K to 140 K on a terrible salary in Maryland, but that’s when I was single and it’s just not easy with a spouse and step-kid). I also know that sometimes it’s fine going to the best school in geographical location, but I’m not really sure where I want to live in the future. Looking forward to hearing from you!

I think it is totally possible to achieve an acceptance to a great school for you! I am applying right now and I've seen that most schools offer an opportunity to explain poor grades or extenuating circumstances. I think if you were to give rationale for that bad GPA, and show that you dedicated yourself to improving it and preformed well in grad school, that the low undergrad GPA will be considered with a grain of salt. Good luck on your apps!!!
