  • Ellen shares her experience using a Car Broker to help her buy a car in Panama. The car was delivered to her driveway.
We have recommendations for reliable and honest car brokers.
But you must be careful who you work with because, sadly, some will "gringo price" you.

Maybe the rules changed. We are being told the car cannot be more than 10 years old.

If you live near a city, you don't need a car. But if you live far away from a city, like the lady in this video, you will need a car.

If you life in the city like me it's best to have a car. I don't do public transportation, I'll use Uber to move around but it's good to have a vehicle as an option.

I am half way through the video but I want to ask how did you comunícate with Miguel, do you know Spanish or does Miguel speak English. I probably have more questions, what is the best way to get more answers? Thanks a million for your information. ❤

Thanks Ellen and Jackie… oddly enough, I am interested in buying a car through a car broker but for a Panamanian friend who doesn’t speak English. I am not there right now and would love to have contact info on Miguel or someone who does that service. I might have to get the guide and go from there. Well, Jackie… please let me know what you think. Thanks. ❤

I think I got my answer to the Spanish/English question… I was in Panama 4 times some 20 years ago and noticed many older people speak English because of the American soldiers who were stationed there taught them. At least that is what I heard from several older folks. Now I am older and am contemplating moving to Panama. Meanwhile, I am in Mexico and I seem stuck between staying here or going there. Many reasons to be in Panama that out weigh staying here in Mexico but it is tough as so many others would attest and must have similar stories like mine which I won’t share due to time and space. You Jackie are a Godsend and you have great guests like Ellen who I could listen to all day. Take care and thanks for everything ❤❤!!
