The fact Ann made a whole gingerbread kit video is impressive enough, but to then replicate the whole thing in MINIATURE SCALE and it not even be the focus of the video is incredibly impressive!
I’m in high school and I had these 3 friends that I had a lot of fun with across 3 years of taking French classes together. Unfortunately, this year two of them replaced French 4 with physics so I didn’t see them in French anymore. Today was the last day before winter break. I bought a gingerbread house kit for 10 dollars, called them out of math class to my french class (they weren’t doing work anyway) and we were brought together to build a gingerbread house in French class, Christmas spirit is a beautiful thing. For anyone who reads my little story, I hope you have an amazing holiday with your family and friends, make it a great week!❤
Oh my GOD. How can I like a video several times. I’m not even hosting a gingerbread (but I now want to) and I still LOVE all the information u gave and the houses in the end????? They were so good😭😭(don’t mind me, I’ve been binging ur videos for a week now)
I see what you did there with the poetry while making gingerbread house❤..absolutely loved it. I was waiting for you to upload this year's gingerbread house video
As an Introvert, hosting a party like this would be an absolute Nightmare for me, _but_ it looks like everyone is having a lot of fun at your place and that is something beautiful to see!
That's what I was thinking! An absolute nightmare with the added bonus of being a potential COVID swap meet. (For me, even being there would be too much, and there's no way I could organise all the materials, let alone the invitations.) And, as you say, _they_ all appeared to be having fun and that's good.
it’s important that people be more social and host gatherings and build community. people are too content to sit at home and watch tv because they’re too scared to socialize. or maybe they have nowhere to go because nobody wants to bother hosting anything. i love being in bed at a reasonable hour like any other 30-something but it’s sad how isolated everyone has become, i’m glad to see that people still have parties and host community events
@@minnie7453 But there is a difference. I have a DnD Group that meets once a month. we are 8 people, we eat breakfast togetether, we play for about 6 hours and then we make and eat dinner together. I like these people. I can tolerate these people for a day. And I have a lot of fun. but at the end of that day, I am _exhausted_ and I need at least two or three days _without_ major social contact to recharge from that. Being an Introvert isn't about being too lazy to be social. It's about the fact that, when I walk into a store or over a christmas market without my headphones, I get itchy and panicky after a while because of all teh people. Something like this would make me burst into tears after a while, because I am simply too overwhelmed.
Yeah, it looks a bit stifling and noisy for me; way too noisy for someone with a sensory processing disorder. But I do have a cutter for making a mini gingerbread house, and if I could make royal icing I would love to make lots of them. Sadly, I've only done it once, getting my mother to make the icing, because I can't separate eggs for love or money, lol. I break the yolks every time; it's a curse. I do like to make Christmas trees out of different sized stars, though.
My friends and i try to make gingerbread "structures" every year that we remember, and this year i finally remembered to use your recipe. The gingerbread itself was delicious and the icing was finally strong enough to hold our pieces together. Both mixtures fully strained my stand mixer though, as i made 6 batches of both in one go. We all make our own templates as we like to get creative. My best friend made an amazing boost stand and i finally suceeded in making a gingerbread gazebo, after attempting it for three years already. Thank you for your recipes and thank you for showing us how to get the best attempt at our gingerbread structures ♥️
This is on of the most wholesome Videos i watches all year. Just a whole bunch of people having so much fun. Thanks to you Ann and your family for putting in the effort to make this world a better place.
I used to make cookies every year for my co-workers. It would take me 3 days to complete, and there was over 100 sugar cookies made. A few years ago I finally gave up on it cause it was just adding added stress around an already hectic time of year. So seeing you make all these kits is truly amazing, because I know how much work it is.
Oh my such a cute tiny house at the end! Love the party idea, looks like everyone had a blast ❤ Merry Christmas, Ann, your videos are such a lovely addition to our lives. Thanks so much! All the best to you 🎄
I did this kind of party several times at our boys school in Germany. It was always a lot of fun, and kept the boys involved for the whole time, unlike most of the other games we tried. Varying levels of success, of course.
I'm always blown away by Ann's attention to detail she puts into her videos. It's so lovely to see that she extends that care to her loved ones and puts the same brain power into organising perhaps the most wholesome thing I've ever seen 🥹
I’m here crying watching the end of your video, hearing the hymn and watching you build the nativity scenes. God bless you for keeping Christ in Christmas. Merry Christmas❤🎚
We've used your recipe for a few years now and as our family has grown (we now have 4 kids) our houses and cookies have become a lot more colorful and interesting. Merry Christmas from our family to yours, thank you for helping us start a tradition of our own ❤
After an entire year of somewhat missing the recipe and "how to" videos, she blesses us for Christmas with the epic nonchalant drop of the most amazing ginger bread houses. Thank you!
I used to remember doing Gingerbread houses with the kids and women at Church. Yes we did order everything in. (except the lollies that we aranged separately). We had gingerbread star trees for the toddlers at playgroup and houses for the older kids. They used to say in those events if you cannot make your gingerbread house stay together here are some pins to help hold it till the royal icing sticks. Ann Reardon it looks like you are a lot more generous with your lollies you hand out for the houses. I was jealous at that stash and wished we had that much to put together, TBH totally honest though I was glad when the women moved to homemade floral wreaths to make instead. Less sugar to worry about in the diet. The kids still got their trees and houses though. Merry Christmas to you and your family Ann. Look forward to seeing what you come up with next year.
Great party ideas - would never have thought of the games for extra items. The tokens for voting are a simple solution too. But the sequence of various gingerbread builds at the end wowed me! The Nativity and the Miniature especially!
Ann! I loved this, totally gave me all the Christmas "feels" that I cried when I saw everyone having so much fun at your party. That right there, the love of family and friends, is one of the best gifts of all. You bring so many people together, in your home and around the world through your channel. Thank you so much for the joy you bring as you share your content on Fridays. Merry Christmas to you, Dave, and the boys!!💛Elsa, ON CANADA. PS This was such a fun idea, and I loved seeing all the creations! Saving to use next Christmas season :D
This is one of your best videos yet, with the competition, the mini kitchen from your videos back in the day, and the yearly gingerbread tradition. Merry Christmas ❤
Thank you ❤ Surprisingly, I found your video very moving. Seeing your family and friends all together having a wonderful time together, then the ending with the beautiful song while showing different gingerbread houses being made. It made me feel very lonely
Merry Christmas Gabrielle. You're not the only one, many people feel lonely at Christmas time. We don't have any extended family here and that is part of the reason why we host a fun party with friends instead.
Can't believe it's this time of year again! Merry Christmas Ann, it's been wonderful following your channel this year. Best wishes to you and all the family for the new year. 😊
Hi Ann! I've never made a gingerbread house before but I'm now thinking I've been missing out all these years. Wishing you a very Merry Christmas and a happy New Year. See you in 2025 and thank you for all the fabulous videos. With peace and love from me in very cold and blustery Somerset, England xx 🎄✨
Merry Christmas, Ann, Dave, and family! You're all such a blessing to this world. I look forward to what this new year brings to you and how God will continue to use and bless you. Much love from the USA! ❤️🎄✝️

A very nice pleasant song at the end. I have never heard it. The mini house made using the mini kitchen - wow impossible for me! Awesome party you have made, have a good holiday !
I love your videos! We're hoping to have our own gingerbread house party this year too 😊 all of our participants are little but hopefully it will become a tradition that grows with them ❤

One of my high school friend's threw a Gingerbread Party. His mother made all the gingerbread fresh! It was so much fun and I wish I can be that kind of mother one of these days. Your party looked amazing too!
May the next year bring you as many challenges as you want, and as much joy as you can handle. Thank you for bringing all of us education and deliciousness!
As every year I look forward to your gingerbread house. This year ( though not hard to believe ) you've created a truly gorgeous miniature gingerbread house. I am in awe of your talent, creativity and your willingness to share your truly abundant knowledge. Thank you. Merry Christmas from Nova Scotia, Canada 🇨🇦 xo
I have been so inspired by your gingerbread houses over the years Ann. Loved the montage of gingerbread "greatest hits"! Your tip of coating the back of pieces in chocolate has been a game-changer for me. I tend to do this for Easter gifts in particular now, "Christmas" gingerbread but with chocolate on the back and pretty royal icing on the front. It's delicious!! Merry Christmas to you and yours from Christchurch NZ.
This is beautiful! I dream of being able to host family/friend holiday parties like this some day. It really adds magic to the season. Anne is reigniting my holiday spirit 😭
This is so fun! What a great start to my day. Wishing you and your family a blessed and Merry Christmas, Ann! Thanks for another year of clever, infaformative videos. And Merry Christmas to all you fellow viewers as well! Praying that the Lord lifts your spirits and relives your pains, and that next year is easier for you ❤
What a fun idea!!! I love how it can be scaled from easy to extravagant depending on what you want to create. Thanks for your hard work all year, you and the boys are very appreciated in our house 🥰🧡🖤🧡
Spent my whole year waiting for this video to come out.I wanted to see another amazing gingerbread house creation like the ones you had made years before with all the details and candy decorations😪i still believe they are the best videos of all 💔
It is two in the morning where I am. But watching your beautiful family and friends reunite for the holidays, it feels me with happiness ♡ Also, the boys are so grown already! I wish you all health for the next year 🩷
I'm on year 14 or so of hosting an annual gingerbread house decorating party for mostly kids. My addendums to this excellent advice: 1) Pizza wheel cutting is good. Bench scraper can be even better because its straight and a set length. I've adjusted my own template to match the length of my bench scraper. :) 2. My template has all the pieces on it, with no space in between. I press down the bench scraper just a teeny bit on the internal cuts to leave a guide "dent" for when I lift the template up after cutting around it. Makes for quicker cuts and saves on rerolling. 3. I pre-assemble all the houses on large sheets of parchment and once dry, move to a sturdy paper plate with a rim (helps cut down on sprinkle spillage vs cake board). The ribbon trick is really clever! I use the little tins of tomato paste as weights to hold the walls up as I build. 4. Candy and frosting gets put out in the middle of the large table with multiple lazy susans holding all the implements (big tweezers, decorator spoons, spreading knives and bowls of icing, bagged icing, etc. Each end of the table gets a muffin tin with the candy divided up on the cups so everyone can grab just a few at a time. Sprinkle jars can be passed around. 5. Graham crackers in reserve! Some people don't like gingerbread and sometimes RSVPs don't happen and occasionally things get dropped and broken. Graham crackers can be gently sawed into shape with a serrated knife and iced together for a quick emergency house. 5. I use bag clips on the top of the icing bags vs rubber bands. Many kids prefer a bowl of colored American buttercream and a knife for spreading on the roof, which is the universal favorite decorating surface--I maximize roof space on mine on purpose. Butter based frosting gets very melty in hot little hands, so piping bags of royal icing are a lil more practical. I use piping couplers and tips on these instead of just cutting the tip of the bag--that way we can use silicone tip covers and avoid the quick drying royal icing clogging the tip. 6. Tell traveling guests to bring an emoty large box or cooler with to hold their creation for travel, and contain runaway sprinkles. :)
Merry Christmas, Ann, Dave, and your boys! I love watching all your videos with my kiddos over in Canada. (My youngest calls you Aunt Rooden, and asks for your videos by that name). We made some gingerbread cookies yesterday and are looking forward to decorating them together on Jesus' birthday. Thank you for your fun and wholesome content! God bless you as you celebrate our Saviours birth!
Thank you for this lovely Christmas episode! I could feel the joy and fun through the screen! Also thank you so very much for the content you put out all year long you brighten my evenings when I watch the episodes you put out. A Very Happy Christmas to you and yours!

I've watched every single video of yours and I swear every week your sons grow up another year.
And the older one looks and sounds _so much_ like his dad by now!
@dion_gee i agree, and such a funny way to say it 🤣
For real. I swear just a few videos ago the youngest looked like a baby!
Such an iconic family. Love how they support mamas videos

Well done Ann!!! 👏👏👏
My favorite was your tiny Nativity for the cut away living room ginger house. 🙌🙌🙌
