My favorite episode in Samurai Champloo. The last scene of Jin helping Shino escape to the sound of Nujabes' Counting Stars is absolute perfection. Truly one of those anime episodes that get stuck with you forever.
It was a really nice episode to see a different side of Jin. Although Mugen was probably half serious and half jokingly said how he was worried about him not chasing women I thought it was very interesting to hear him say that showing that Mugen does have actual concern for Jin and maybe he doesn't want to admit it, but also considers him a "Friend" in a sense.
This has been such a fun ride so far. Like Jacob, I watched this show once back in like 2009, and only really remembered one scene from the whole thing, and it's been cool seeing you go on this journey.

This is my favorite episode in the show! There are so many good ones, but this is the one that has stuck with me the most over the years. It helps that I absolutely had to look up the song that played at the end after watching it (Counting Stars) and discovered Nujabes through that, but the episode itself just hits all the right notes for me I think. Having a serious, sad episode that actually ends on a hopeful note is such a contrast to how these type of episodes tend to go in this show that it really helps it stand out.
