- Change your government type and become a republic with ease in Empire Total War.
It only takes at least 3 turns to complete the change from any government type to another.
1) Move all your armies out of your home region
2) Destroy all the buildings in your home region - it's painful but they're quicker to rebuild than you think
3) Max out taxes for whichever class you want to annoy
4) In three turns they'll revolt - side with the rebels
You'll now have a revolutionary army, and to complete the revolution, you need to take the home region capital.
Because you moved all your old armies out, you'll only be up against a token militia in the capital.
Viva la revolucion!!!

If you side with the monarchy can you actually stop the rebels and put down the rebellion for good or do the rebels always end up winning?
If you want the current government to win, don't start the rebellion in the first place. But if one happens against your will, just win the battle as you would win any other battle - play it out on the battle map and you can pretty much always win against the AI.
This happened with me before but I sided with the government. Can I try again or it not work?

Great Khan24 I believe you have to tax the Nobility high and then tax the poor nothing also try exempting all regions of tax outside your capital.

There is no Mexico in the game, idiot. There's Spain, but Mexican's aren't Spanish, they have some arab admixture from the Spaniards (or rather, what Spain turned into after Islamic occupation) but they're different ethnically.

Yes, if you are playing for a coalition nation. France cannot change its government.
What’s the point of this ?
There are 3 government types: absolute monarchy, constitutional monarchy and republic, each one has it's own advantages but i would personally like constitutional over republic and republic over absolute monarchy
How to change to constitution monarchy!?
Napoleon Banaparte if you make the lower class to revolt in either monarchy it will become a republic either way, if the higher class does it will go from a republic to a constitutional monarchy, or from the latter to absolute. If you are an absolute monarchy you have to get the republic by causing an uprising among the lower class, and then one by the higher. I usually go for the republic early game for the research, and once i get all i go constitutional and demolish all schools to max industrialization
I've made them rebel, but they just make a "rebel army" and no revolution option begins. They just rebel, attack my city, and take it making a new nation. I'm using the 13 colonies. Please help, thanks.
