Bob... Watching this one more time before starting my 4151. Wanted to let you know that my Wife picked the color... SAME AS YOURS! She saw it and said YES! 😊
I built the 3348 6x4 tipper a few months ago. That's the longest kit I have ever built. I'm glad to hear you say it's taking you longer than you thought. I do love my dump truck though.
Awesome truck Bob. Love the color too. That was a great idea with the speaker mounting and the blue dash lighting on it. I may use a lighted dash on my next project. I'm really starting to like the mfc03 also. More options on it it seems.
I really like your build videos Bob! Thanks for sharing how to install the MFC-03 while retaining the dashboard. You mentioned that you had to remove part of the gear box cover, but I think you did not show the revised version. Anyways, I'll try to figure it out when I reach that step. Great tip too, on mounting a smaller speaker on the truck ceiling. I love the color of your truck, and excellent tip on the step board to the front bumper!
Your attention to detail is always impressive. I do wonder why the off road lights on top of the cab come on first, I would think they would come on last. The slots for zip ties and a better set of drive tires are a nice touch; and I agree should be updated in all the truck kits.
I gotta agree Bob... Beautiful Truck!! Awesome color choice too. 👍👍 Really liked the solutions to the MFC and Speaker mounting! It even looks like you could get TWO of those Beier Speakers up there, wired in Series (if 4 ohms would overload the Amp), for slightly better low tones. Either way, great idea!! A Thank You! You've inspired my Grand Hauler Dashboard. I cut behind the Gauges and backlit with LEDs. 😁 Glad all is OK!!👌 I was actually worried because I hadn't heard anything for a while. You were just BUSY! Listen, I've got a pretty big Order in your Store's Shopping cart, that within the next 5 days, I'm pulling the trigger on. 😲😁😁 I hope you're able to SHIP quickly, because I've waited literally DECADES to do this! I'm excited 😁
One question.... For now! Can a MFC-03 be used with an external ESC?? I've enjoyed the low speed smoothness and FULL Lipo Compatibility with Hobbywing ESCs, and intend to keep them. In fact, I've got a Hobbywing WP1060 ESC mounted neatly into the STEP of my Grand Hauler!! .... That will be my final determining factor between the MFC or Beier.
No. If you want to use a different ESC just use the Beier USM-RC-2. Less money than the Tamiya MFC, much smaller and has way more features. hobbyconcepts.net/products/beier-sound-module-usm-rc-2?_pos=1&_sid=0dacc0979&_ss=r
@@HobbyconceptsLLC Bob.... I'm still waiting on getting a Computer. How much would you charge me to add just basic Cummins or CAT Diesel Engine starting, Idle and running Sounds, just to get me started with the Beier USM-2?? You can use files you've already made for simplicity.
Looks great, I found that Servonaut do a great low profile speaker that sounds really good, nice tip screwing the steps on, I fitted the MFC and full interior, bit tight but can be done, just a suggestion, put the roof lights on the main (high) beam setting, you can switch them independently then
Whoa!!! Just straight out wooooow!!! Now, I'd like to purchase the truck for $9.99 with FREE SHIPPING and I'll give up an additional $5 for the radio.. It'd be a nice gift!!! Make it happen pal
Hi Bob. Thanks very much not just for this video but all your superb videos. I have the Scania R620 and having been trying to figure out how mount the MFC03 and the interior instead of blacking out the windows. We love all your videos as being a first time truck builder the tips you give out are awesome. Keep up the great work.
Hello Bob, my most sincere congratulations for your teachings. Question with what you activate the servo in this video? I think it's great not to use the radio for these tests.
Nice build. I suspect the steering would bend if you use it with a heavy load in dirt road situations. Love the dash install. How is the Visaton speaker with regards to sound quality vs the Tamiya speaker? Would be cool to mount the Tamiya M.A.N. TGX 26.540 cab or the old Volvo FH-12 on a chassis like this.
@@HobbyconceptsLLC Thanks for the reply. I have a few rc tanks, and have good experience swapping out the included kit speakers with Visaton or others with custom built boxes.
Hi Bob just watching your video and wondering why people do not wrap the wires with black insolation tape it looks a lot better than seeing all the coloured wires...Mike
I like the black spiral wrap. Easy to use and allows for wires in/out anywhere. hobbyconcepts.net/products/spiral-wire-wrap-1-4-x-2?_pos=1&_sid=5e6fc542f&_ss=r
Awesome video, thank you for sharing. Are you going to include the dump actuator in this build? I've ordered my kit from you and should have it delivered by tomorrow. I'm very excited.
@@HobbyconceptsLLC Good News, I just received my kit from you today, on time. Thank you so much. I'll be looking into getting the controller probably from you. I've already ordered the MFC3 and Actuator from Hong Kong a few months ago, they should be arriving soon.
Thanks for doing all these videos. You have helped me improve my RC building skill in so many ways. One question: Would it be possible to put a roll on/off system on this truck?
Do you think someone who has never built an RC model could be successful at building this kit, specifically the mechanical part. I'm confident/proficient with electronics.
Yes. Tamiya kits and instructions are always first class and pretty straightforward. A few of ny videos (like building the transmission) are also helpful.
@@HobbyconceptsLLC Thank you for the confirmation. I'm itching to get started! If I may ask another question, I already have a 6 channel controller (Radiolink RC6GS V2 6 Channels) which is not a stick controller. Can I use this to drive a Tamiya truck or is a stick controller a requirement?
The MFC 01 will work fine. It only has one reverse light so I would add an led there and add change the 5mm taillights to 4 - 3mm led's like I did with the MFC-03 and change the rear flashers to 3mm led's.
Super awesome video love the way that it was edited the instructions and play-by-play was awesome very good video. I am totally unfamiliar with hobby Concepts which I'm going to investigate further and to subscribe are you mostly into trucks into the larger models I'm hoping you do off-road trucks and tractors also I'm very interested in that. When I retired I bought some of these larger models and then my eyesight went and they are very difficult now to try and put together not alone keep track of the parts so I did enjoy your video very much and thank you and looking back into the past of your Channel and seeing what I have missed out on. )-]-@#=]

It is awesome! I'll try not to carbon copy yours, with some slight variations...
Very nice looking truck! Never thought I would be interested in these, but the more I watch the more I want to build one!

Man I wish I could afford a semi truck kit, they look so cool and look like alot of fun to build
I think that green really works, really pops.
You do excellent work...love what you did with the speaker....your add on are genius.
That looks great !!! Beautiful.
ANOTHER MASTERPIECE…. NICE BUILD BOB. 🤙🤙🤙🤙🤙
Thanks for the ideas of the screw on steps. Cause mine have broke off a few times being glued

You can plug in the top lights to a different slot on the MFC to make them come on in a different order.
Fantastic job! Truck looks great! Looks like it would hurt my brain though…. I do not have near the patience you have. Thanks for the video!
I recently built an arocs and man its so fragile.. i hate that such large body parts are held in with superglue. great solution to the problem.

I painted the Lightbuchets silver . That looks a lot better than the black inside. Btw.Nice Channel

Not up yet - coming soon!
so you use thin ore foam like D sided tape to side parts ( side fenders) ? I'm doing the Actros - 3363 and same there, they tell you to glue.
I use the thin double side tape.
How did you wire the top lights in the cab did you drill any extra holes
There are some small areas in the cab top that are molded thinner you cut out.
Good evening
Hey Bob. Awesome build. Did you not show installing the vibration unit or did you leave it off this build?
I did leave it off.
Hello.. Just want know which type of the speaker you use..?
I used the small Beier speaker.
@@HobbyconceptsLLC can let me know where can buy the speaker or the model of the speaker...? Thanks

I like the idea about screwing the front sides on.but 2.5mm countersunk colour coded might look better. Screws are big, ugly and spoil the scale look.
