Thank you so very much. With all the lies of the medical world as late this is truly a blessing to heal yourself from the gifts of the earth. People need to see what is edible healthy and all we have forgotten so we need not be pIll popping zombies .
I'll have to give this a try, to help me sleep! My father is retired now but he was a herbalist and naturopath, so I'm used to herbal tablets and tinchers.
Terri you are an inspiration. Your videos are so calming to me. You are a wealth of information! The cradle for your fur baby was just too sweet! Ty for sharing your knowledge!!
Very nice homesteading is something we should go back to. And it saves money for modern things( that aren’t healthy as well). You make it look someay simple and fun videos are great music is too.
Love this! I can’t believe I hadn’t found you sooner! Just planted my first medical herb garden and I am just learning! So need you in my life, made you family!
This was well done and full of helpful info, AND absolutely beautiful too. I loved the bee blessing and the kitty supervisor. Your true love for your land comes through the camera and is always inspiring to me.
Oh absolutely lovely visit with you today. Baby fouls, kitty in a hammock and all the while a lesson learned ,in what I must say a beautiful background. Blessings to you and yours Ontario Canada Thankyou 🐝
Thank you Terry for sharing of your great knowledge it really inspire me to go on in my learningprocess, your knowledge is for me the most important in the world nowadays. Once again thank you so much and pleace give my regard to the spirit and fairys in your garden they do an amazing job.
Hi Galway calling, just subbed I seen your Plantain video yesterday and I was just amazed at all the things we dont know about all these wonderful plants we tend to class as annoying weeds. Yet are so much more, I am moving into my own property in a few weeks and will have a lovely garden space to grow a small crop of veg, so now seeing what i could do is getting me more excited. Thank you for sharing your knowledge, I will be back often, xxx Hugs Dede xx
What a delightful look into your world! I love to watch your videos as you know. X I’ve made dandelion root tincture just recently and it will steep until most probably just before Spring Equinox (September for me), and I’ll use it to kick start my body after winter.
Saw a bunch of California poppy when I was out for a walk this weekend. They plant it around areas that have been recently developed to revitalize the native plants. It's a beautiful color of orange and we have pink ones too.
Good morning Terri, and thank you and your beautiful four legged family for this lovely video:) I have Californian poopy growing and as a very poor sleeper, I will definitely try this.:) I have been collecting my thyme, lemon balm and dandelion for teas earlier. It's been so wet in England of late, but everything is growing so well. I think I have probably made my last batch of the nettle soup for this year. as they are too overgrown and bitter now, so I shall let the bees and butterflies enjoy those. I so enjoy seeing you there in your stunning part of the world. Thank you for the joy! Bright blessings :)
I realize this is almost your busiest time of year, or I suppose it to be, so, extra thanks for giving of your time and expertise. Tinctures might be my favorite form of medicine.. Green Blessings always 💜🌿🕯🌿💜
As always a lovely informative video, with super music .I use alcohol for fruit for the tinctures I make ,it's about the same proof as vodka it just comes in litre bottles so it goes a bit further !
It is always satisfying getting a store of medicinal plants dried and made into tinctures , balms etc. I have just dug out and put marshmallow roots to dry and been getting herbs dried for teas. Thank you for sharing your tips and advice! Enjoy harvesting!
Everything is looking beautiful. If you are using 100 proof vodka there is no need to add water to the tincture cause it's mixed 50/50. If using 80 proof definitely don't want to add water cause it won't be shelf stable due to the plant having so much liquid in it. Have a blessed day. 🍀
my black kitty died a year and a half year ago too .. so heartbreaking. it was so very hard. he was 15 n had him since he was a wittle bitty baby. i got a sign for his resting place it says, "angels dont always have wings sometimes they have whiskers" i still cry when i think about him even tho its been over a year n a half. cats are amazing. rest in peace for both mine and yours too.
I actually live in California but do not have any poppies! I would have to buy them dry as I was told years ago that since it’s our state flower we aren’t allowed to wild harvest. Great medicine Terry! It’s on my to-do list ☺️🌱👍🏻👍🏻
I'm from California, and I always thought that also. I think it was a respect thing, like not allowing the flag to touch the floor. Turns out it's actually illegal to pick any growing thing off of state land, or land that isn't your if you don't have permission. Which is basically everywhere...LOL! But poppies like anything else can be picked on your own land, or with permission, so go ahead & grow lots of them in your yard!
Ok sooo..can you do an explanation video on what a tincture, oil, and anything else is for all us dafties out here who havent got a clue please?. Embarrasing Iknow. But true. I just had to look up what a tincture was. In my humble opinion, I think some of us are in search with some sort of confused distanced hope, of a better way of helping ourselves rather than searching for more info on a subject already interested in. It may be just me. If it is, so be it. Thought I would share my thoughts. X
I always thought making a tincture would be a lot harder than that. This is the first time I’ve seen it actually done and it looks so easy, I want to go pick something and make one right now! Unfortunately most of my new land is covered in mugwort and multiflora rose at the moment. I have to heal and nourish my land before it can do the same for me!
Always enjoy watching your awesome videos and listening to your lovely accent! Cheers from Rome as always! Btw, my sister lives near Cisco and surely I'll be sharing this wonderful info! Grazie!!
Another beautiful video Terri. Thank you! My grandma always had these wonderful puppies growing around her apricot tree in her backyard. It was magical to see them swaying in the wind. They always reminded me of the scene in "The wizard of Oz" when the witch sends Dorothy and her friends to run through them to put them to sleep. And now I know why..........I wonder if that is what my grandma used them for. She was from the "old country" and I learned much from her. I will start to plant them to make this tincture as a sleep aid. How much of a tincture is consumed for sleep?
Alcohol actually has water in it. If you use 100 Proof vodka it is a 50/50 mixture of water and alcohol. It is easier than trying to figure out the ratios. Love your videos!
Love watching you. I miss my herb shop terribly. I made tinctures every day. When I made them I tinctured them according to the various phases of the moon, depending on whether healing energy or getting rid of something.
What a very lovely and peace-filled space! Question:how long do you set your tincture before using? Also what would be the proper dose for children and adults
Thanks for sharing your knowledge... I always make my tinctures with cereal alcohol and water.... don't know if it is better than vodka?? Big hug dearest Terri 💓🤗
Very nice video! Thanks for mentioning the glycerine substitute for the vodka. I 'm guessing you still add the little bit of water if using the glycerine. I don't have California poppies but i do have occasional back pain so what herb can I infuse with glycerine to use as a rub?
I have been thinking about making a tincture this week to help with my COPD. I have researched which herbs to use but wanted to ask about a base. I love mead and usually have it in the house, it is a fortified wine like sherry and I was wondering if I could use that rather than a sprit?
How long do you leave the tincture soaking for, do you leave the choppings in the jar or drain them? I'm learning as I go along, love your videos (and the animals and scenery too).
Such a lovely video. I so enjoy seeing all your beautiful pets and that rock-a-bye kitty basket is adorable.
Cheeky cat took over the basket which had strawberries last year and I haven't used it yet this year.
The kitty looks like he found I nice little garden hammock!
These videos are done so well. The cats make me smile
Thank you so very much. With all the lies of the medical world as late this is truly a blessing to heal yourself from the gifts of the earth. People need to see what is edible healthy and all we have forgotten so we need not be pIll popping zombies .
Watching you helps me stay positive and keep busy
So glad to hear that Christa.
Absolutely gorgeous Terri! Ah, and the cat settling down in the hammock, happy animals all around. . truly a heaven on earth you've got there!
Lovely. Thanks for the guidance and the peaceful company out of doors.
Beautiful. Cutting up the plant material makes sense. Sweet animals enjoying a spring day with you.
Thanks for watching Gena! x
Just love to see you out and about, gathering and preparing your herbs. Bless you for your wisdom and for being authentic.

I'll have to give this a try, to help me sleep! My father is retired now but he was a herbalist and naturopath, so I'm used to herbal tablets and tinchers.

I was watching closely, I hoped you didn’t catch the cats tail , when you was chopping! 😂
Love watching your videos ❤️
I liked that the camera moved to a view from above so we could all see that the kitty was safe. 💖

Glycerin is also an alcohol, but has a short shelf life. I did use it to make my CBD ‘tincture’ though.
🙏🙏🙏
Hello friend!
Love watching you. I miss my herb shop terribly. I made tinctures every day. When I made them I tinctured them according to the various phases of the moon, depending on whether healing energy or getting rid of something.
I've been meaning to make some tinctures for a while now, thanks for the inspiration. Also your garden is looking beautiful.

Another great video Terri! Will the glycerin last as long as Vodka? I use glycerin in my tinctures because I don't partake in Le Booze x
If your in an area where drying is possible, do you make the tea with the California Poppy do you still use all the aerial parts?
Yes!
Hello ! How important are the moon phases and times of the day / balsamic seasons when picking herbs, in your opinion? Thank you!
I think the evidence shows they are very important and will add health and potency to the medicine you are making. xx
