Agree. I strongly believe that a BYD can do a much better job here. Dedicated EV platforms hold better stead than conventional platforms modified for EVs.

Just defining about the performance, If someone is so very enthusiastic about power and performance obviously would go for Turbo Petrol, Why would raise the anxiety after seeing the battery drain. EVs are about range, elaborate the main aspect of EVs.
Will be compelling if they can reduce price by 10L or more. In the same ball park as XC40. But these Bimmer snoots will not do it, but still people will buy the bmw in droves (relatively)
No doubt the iX1 is a bit expensive in India. Sadly BMW didn't bring the 20d and 20i with the X1and most people are very rightly disappointed. Most people would go for an Ioniq or EV6 and it makes sense to save money! The iX1 lacks the true BMW feel and I think a used 340i or a new one is all the car that a person could ever want. Nothing like an X340i or the discontinued X330i / X320d if you want a Bavarian SUV. :) Very interesting car but very expensive? The XC40 Recharge seems like a dream or more VFM shall one say. Nice interiors though! Looks pretty nice inside-out.
It's disheartening to learn that the iX1 doesn't embody the quintessential BMW experience. Lackluster steering and questionable handling, especially in a BMW, seem like a criminal offense. In light of this, opting for the ix1 over contenders like the Ioniq 5 or Volvo C40 Recharge is silly.
When a 14 lakh Tata Punch gives you 420km of range and 0-100 under 8 seconds, good features,ease of use, why people need to spend 50 lakhs more for near the same experience?
That's a 35KW battery and a hard plastic car, you can make the same argument about a swift and a mini or a verna and a BMW 3 series about milage and good features, it makes no sense
Tata punch does 0-100 in 9.5s. Don’t know where ur getting that 8s figure from. What do u mean by same experience ? This car is way quicker, much more luxurious on the inside and is aspirational. Yes the ev6 and the ioniq are probably better purchases but a Tata punch? Who even cross shops a punch and an x1?

Pointless. Basically 20L will cover fuel for 5+ years and 5 year service package for diesel.
And you drive a slow and boring 3 pot petrol engine.
Nobody is buying this car for cost. It's purely for performance

Assuming the range to be 350 in real world conditions, it should be 0.2 kwh per km
