E. Sermon has some of the best interviews he really articulates well and remembers every detail, that's how a real head normally does and you can easily tell they're authentic and loves the culture. Can't wait for your documentary E. Sermon!
I watch everything Erick Sermon...He's making a movement to create categorys for Hip Hop. I hope that he accomplishes his goal. I would love to hear under ground and New York artiest's on a California radio station. I don't know about everyone else on the West Coast, but I'm sick of hearing Nick, Lil Wayne, and Dre all the time!! Create a station that will play Boosie Badaz and Meek Mill!! Please!!
the craziest shit eva right, that mean Erick always stay prioritized, and thats more inspirational than anything in the interview, peep that, the legend never stopped, #respect
I get that he was surrounded by amazing talent like the 'hit squad' so he wasn't impressed so easily & I no he's never really been on sum hood shit with his music but to say "what's this son & dun stuff" when he heard them is just hilarious to me! L.I cats didn't know QB kids was goin' hard I guess!? Ha! Shout to the 'green eyed bandit' from a long time supporter!
Erick is that dude, but LA & Babyface set up shop a few years before him and were establishing a Mecca before he got there. Erick brought a lot to the city most importantly knowledge, but if it wasn't for cats like Dallas Austin who embraced him and hooked him up, things would've been much different for him. I know because I was there. I came south to Atlanta in 1990 and the city already had a lot poppin'. Something I learned early was Atlantan's hate that Upnorth transplant "We built y'all! You wasn't nothin' 'til we got here!" talk. Erick should be careful not to do that.
phillyone1 -I'm gonna say it again. I was there. I remember when E arrived. Dallas gave Erick the group "Illegal" to work with. Illegal was a group to compete with Kris Kross, who Jermaine Dupree already had poppin' (amongst others like Xscape,etc..). La Face had an almost empire already. They worked the bugs out and created a hit factory. Erick got walked right into the house.
