@@bolder2009 well I guess it’s personal preference because I like them both & I remember back around 1991 on a trip to NewYork city to visit my aunt we was going through the holland tunnel & out of nowhere all you could hear was this jeep pumping Chinese arithmetic…my brother & I was like oh snap that’s Eric B & Rakim…it’s the perfect backdrop for a movie scene in the ghetto littered with graffiti & trash.
In New Haven CT we had a Starter factory 3 blocks away my Dad's house 🏠 in the mid late 80's & 90's. We shopped in the basement for not perfect gear...but perfect for Us..Good times.
Man to see my all time favorite emcee Rakim along with Ed Lover and Carl Banks brings back so many memories of those great Giants years from 1986-1990 growing up in New York.
One love to the Legends! Great interview fellas. Peace from the LBC. California love. Make ‘em clap to this! California love for y’all. I had a couple starter jackets back in the day. My favorite one was my Georgetown starter. Peace

brings back memories.. had i navy blue GeorgeTown starting winter coat.. damn near got killed for wearing it in the wrong neighborhood😮 Starter hats, all that.. good times..
I wish i had my Starter jackets, thought I'm not sure I could fit them lol. I had a white Bulls one with red letters, Black Orlando Magic with blue logo and black Niners starter with red logo.
My cousin Universal said to me the summer before it dropped said yo you wanna hear Rakim's song? im like Rakim got a song the brother my man Ramel introduced me to at the parking lot (Wyandanch heads know what I'm talking about) then came that whistle from my Melody. I stepped out his house to go home an a car turns the corner and check out my Melody was playing. Here's something funny he never called me by my name he always said homeboy I don't know if he did it because my first name was hard to pronounce And he said i'm just gonna call him homeboy or he just forgot it, But he never showed me any disrespect espect. That's one thing I could say about Rakim . He was never disrespectful man to anybody and he was always respected in my presence
Denying the smaller creators of clothing in order to just push the big brand didn’t help the culture. It helped Starter. Support more business owners. The Mom and Pop shops. Y’all might of missed the next Karl K and stopped a business that could’ve grown with your influence.
Not true.. Walker Wear, Shabazz bro, triple5soul, ENYCE, MAURICE Malone, Cross Colours and many more small black creator exposed through Ed & Dre. You are obviously a little younger and didn't see all that they did for Black brands Ed mention Kani

Nah what ed said @ 20 ain't it no more. NYC don't generate that level of respect out of state like it used to. Thats a fact..

No he didn't u wasn't paying attention
Is this your first interview watching Rakim in a long time since the late 80's?😂
Hahaha - He ain’t no joke
These jackets are trash compared to the originals. Starter sign is too big, the cuts are bad and where are the caps??
