I was disappointed when they left the other podcast, but this one they created is 10x better and deeper and more entertaining all around. I could watch this as an ESPN show or something.
The pivot can attract any high level name or person of notoriety… but it’s episodes like these that set them apart from everyone and what truly makes this show powerful. These topics and discussions are necessary!
I'm also glad Channing brought up the thing about having money and being depressed. I've never been rich but people have this belief that if you have money...no problems exist, you're not allowed to complain, voice opinions, etc. I really hate that stigma and it's even greater with black athletes/celebrities. They're usually hit with the "shut up and play or stay in your lane." So I'm glad Mundy touched on that subject, he's so well-spoken
I be the type to say "I'm good" all the time when asked even when I'm not. A lot of us Black men truly don't know how to express in words how we be feeling. Great interview.
Pivot is saving my life… as someone who suffers from mental health issues, I look forward to the pivot every week … it’s the one hour in the entire week where I can actually sit back & enjoy the things around me
Really good topic. As a person that's dealing with mental illness this episode has really touch my soul. I really believe that mental illness is a topic that's need to be discussed more. Shot out to The Pivot crew much 🙏.
Loved the transparency on this episode. Chan kept it real with his questions and thoughts. We have to talk more about how we can help low income less fortunate people
I am Gen Xer n I definitely feel where Fred is coming from with some using it as a cop out. I am working on myself to understand and express empathy. Depression is real and I am glad it is being taken seriously.
I love this podcast man…. This hit so many places when Channing said people that work hard don’t have the same resources like successful people. I try not to complain but when my wife was diagnosed with breast cancer (cancer free now) when it happened I had to work 80-85 hours a week just to make sure that everything was taken care of while she was fighting for her life. I’m so thankful we had a great support system, but in that time I lost myself. I got unhealthy, my mental is not as strong as it use to be and Everytime when someone said how’s your wife doing and they praying for her, I was thankful but sometimes the guy who see his wife going through it, and gotta be tough and just be a man and make sure everything is good. Sometimes I wish someone took time and told me hey you’re doing good we’re praying for you as well.
Great stuff bro! Reading your story is truly awe inspiring. You held it together in the midst of a major storm in your families existence. I pray and salute you.
Happy for Ryan Mundy we played muny league together in Pittsburgh I played center I think he was playing RB at the time but always a hard worker and good kid so happy his dreams came true and he got to play for his home time Steelers it’s crazy he still got his Pittsburgh accent
I'm glad y'all keep blessing us with these even though i stopped playing football i still take gems from this show and imply it in my life which has helped and I'm glad you guys keep talking about mental health in the black community and keep shedding the light on it we need it.
Another great show!!! I’m a 60’s baby I’m now understanding that somethings that were embedded in us didn’t serve us well! The most important part on your body is your mind and your peace of mind is worth more than gold. The best way to help is to listen and be a safe place for someone to share how one truly feels without judgment. Great content as always!
👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻🔥🔥🔥🔥 This is my favorite discussion y’all had so far. I believe that this is the most universal convo you guys have had thus far, no matter what someone does for a living career wise, no matter where they come from, their background this right here everyone can relate to and to me this was a true breath of fresh air. These types of convo’s need to be heard, need to be had and you guys have definitely blessed us with some gems, eye opening perspectives, terms and most importantly this is something that will stand the test of time and can be rewatched, play the audio back often and a pivot for better can be made every time.
Fred didn't want to say it but I believe he wanted to say it. We have raised soft kids. Not on purpose but we didn't want them to struggle like we did. But we are strong because of our struggle. 52 year old man talking.
POWERFUL. These conversation need to be held in our communities. Thank you for expressing that it's okay not to know everything about mental health or to understand what someone is going through, but be willing to listen and empathize.
As a guy from a regular white lower middle class family, yeah you can definitely have different ideologies despite how you were raised and taught. Good to think for yourself and be able to articulate the negatives and positives learned along the way to hopefully teach the next generation an even better path than before and in hopes they’ll do the same
Thank you for this episode. I’ve learned to live with and accept being diagnosed with BPD (borderline personality disorder) and not let anyone define because of that. The best thing I’ve done since being diagnosed a couple of years ago is to check in on myself daily, learn to improve mentally and emotionally and also understand that I will have my days. Keep doing the good work fellas by providing us with good, informative episodes.
Mr. Clark, Mr Crowder, and Mr. Taylor I really appreciate what you guys are doing and where you all are truly trying to take the podcast. This is so much therapy for me and I am so blessed to enjoy your show and how it is helping me through so many areas of my life.
Great conversation. I will just add that kids today are dealing with much more than what we dealt with growing up. Some of the same things but at a much higher level especially due to social media. For this reason, I must be sympathetic and empathetic to my kids. I give them the same grace God gives me.
Love love love this episode.. So much to get at when it comes to our community and mental health..Slowly but surely the stigma and barriers will be eliminated I truly believe this!! Thank you all! 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
Ryan Mundy is a perfect leader on this subject! And RC said something very important when he talked about "planting ideas!" What a great conversation among great young men! Thank you! Sincerely, a 37 yr old white man who is struggling to find out who I am! Much love to EVERYONE!
This is by far one of the best podcasts out there. Between the guest and the conversation they have, they are helping a lot of people open their eyes to major issues. Especially discussion people try to avoid having or addressing. Keep em coming!!! 💯💯💯
Been told to “go to bed” or stop crying or go outside so many times and I find myself displaying the same behavior with my kids. Even though I know better it’s not easy to remove if you do not actively work on it. Great episode fellas!
Thanks to the men of The Pivot for featuring Bro. Mundy on this important episode that focuses on African Americans and our mental health. The mind is such a delicate and sometimes fragile part of our being. It deserves to be treated with gentleness and care regardless of the person's gender. For so long, men in the U.S. have been socialized to internalize our feelings. And I believe that this form of socialization helped to create a great number of stress-filled individuals. Sometimes this stress caused men to implode and sometimes it caused them to explode. Either way, the black man needs to follow a healthy mental health regimen. And combined with a healthy spiritual life, this may play a role in creating a much better person...a whole person. Thanks guys. God bless the black man.
Mental illness is REAL and appears differently on everyone. No illness is greater or lesser than the other. It’s important we respect and embrace people with ALL types of illnesses. One day even your illness may be revealed. 💯
Fred, you definitely broke my heart. I grew up in Pittsburgh, so of course I was a Steelers fan. I was at that Sunday night game with my Dad when you WENT OFF on the Steelers. I'll never forget that game, watching you run all over my favorite team.
Now you's showed the proper way in my eyes to have this conversation shout out to Randy Mindy for coming over an showing the talent the 3 of you have without making this subject boring, a pity pot segment and NOT another way to put a label AND MOST ALL kept it real. Thank You for pivoting me the ingredients 😜😜 so I/we can become better version of ourselves 🙏
It's refreshing weekly for me to watch men of color discussing various topics and being authentic. Football generally brings you to this podcast ,but the conversations are a breath of fresh air. The are conversations that need to be had. What you do is needed! Keep soaring men!
This is my second time watching this, because I can TRULY relate!! I'm currently writing my book My inner evolution!! My channel is based off how to push through. Discovering a new version of you. Peeling back those hardcore levels, to find out who you truly are. It was my failed attempt at suicide, and not wanting to even be around myself, that made me change, and try to help others. Thank you RC, FF, and CC, for this very informative and inspiring episode!!
Can you imagine having so many wonderful ideas and the ideas stay in your mind or that piece of paper, that alone will drive you crazy. We need to create an atmosphere for that change. Night and weekend school is necessary for this very reason. We have to provide for all us
This is what you call peak example of a platform being properly executed. From personal experiences, education, important life matters, uplifting, the highs, the lows, the vulnerability, the entertainment. The pivot brings all of that to the table and I'm so thankful to be alive to experience this with everyone else around the globe. Thank you pivot team once again for bringing us all together to not only learn and educate ourselves but to grow together as individuals going through our own difficulties in life. Keep up the great work. God bless! 🙏🏿💯
There is a fine line between helping and clutch. Also understanding our positive history. U can't fully understand a person because you are not them. Everyone take problems emotionally in a different fashion.
Love love love this episode! You guys hit it right on the head with this mental health episode. Mental health is a growing concern but is it a fad or a crutch or legit to some. Like Channing said, we all have issues. This was definitely very enlightening. The social media aspect definitely resonates. Sometimes folks need to disconnect from all social media. Great episode
The pivot are changing lives. I know people who aren’t sports fans but find pivot compulsory listening. Smooth jazz are longer my driving listening pleasures, it’s the Pivot. Great Year guys, keep up the good work.
I'm so proud of you gentlemen for having these type of discussions. Recently, I set-up an appointment to talk with a therapist. Lately, I've been feeling overwhelmed. The honest conversation about not understanding the subject of Mental Health the transparency of all of them I'm very proud of you guys I have always been the one to have to push through playing ball it was always taught to us about mental toughness pushing your body and your mind to the Limit and to the edge of failure until you break through I have to do that my whole life no matter the situation because there's so many people depending on me makes me wonder. this is so enlightening

This was awesome and so positive, and if you're not up on Ryan Mundy as a former athlete and champion. This man is doing incredible things with mental health and I wish this one show had WAY MORE VIEWS than just 198K+. Such an important topic and well done by the Pivot Bros!
Fred is My Dawg! I know sometimes not getting your due has a greater end! How much more have you touched being on this podcast. Thanking God for you Bro!!!!
Great interview! Very insightful & overall good conversation on a huge issue today where some are praise for being strong & others crucified & not understood.

This was awesome and so positive, and if you're not up on Ryan Mundy as a former athlete and champion. This man is doing incredible things with mental health and I wish this one show had WAY MORE VIEWS than just 198K+. Such an important topic and well done by the Pivot Bros!

The best podcast in the universe. Pound for pound.
Great interview! Very insightful & overall good conversation on a huge issue today where some are praise for being strong & others crucified & not understood.
