This season was the first where the fairies can turn into humans and have a relashionship close to love with their partners; Nozomi and Coco, Komachi and Nuts, urara and Syrup for exemple. I think it's cute that their bounds are that strong X3 Yeah, it's a bit weird that fairies fall in love with young girls but it's not disgusting or creepy; plus there's no harassment between them. I always find it adorable honestly! The powers are cool and colorful but the outfits of the girls are...a little ugly. I prefer the ones in Splash Star and in the next season. Nice review, i was curious to see what you think of this anime and like your comments on it; good work :D
@@whocares7992 I won't count her because Milk always complains for no good reason and insult the girl wich is very mean. Also, she isn't in love with Karen unlike Coco and Nozomi. Same for Nuts and Komachi, theses two shared bounds stronger than friendship.
Precure 5 and GOGO! were definitely my favorite season(s) :D As much as I love Komachi there was so, so, sooo many episodes on her I just grew tired of seeing her on screen. Nozomi is definitely my favorite character. Cure Dream ^•^ (Second Edit) Anyone want to join the Milk Haters club ?
As a Milk hater myself, I wrote this to myself for satisfaction. Note! This short fanfic takes place in Yes! 5 GoGo! Meaning Milk is in her human form, Kurumi Mimino. Anyway, please enjoy it! Yes! Precure 5: "Kurumi, That's Enough!" "What?! You got ANOTHER 25%?! What is wrong with your dumb brain, Nozomi?!" Kurumi scolded. Nozomi started to tremble. "W-well, I-" Kurumi interrupted the pink haired Pretty Cure. "You what?! Did you slack off during Coco's study session?! Did you fall asleep in class again?! I can't wait to hear what excuse you have awaiting us THIS time!" Nozomi mumbled something quietly. "What was that?!" Kurumi barked. "It's nothing..." Nozomi squeaked. Kurumi smirked with delight. "Oh no, it ain't! Tell me, crybaby Nozomi!" "KURUMI! THAT'S ENOUGH!!" Everyone then turned their eyes from Kurumi scolding Nozomi, onto Rin, whose eyes were red with flames of anger. Kurumi went over to Rin. "What did you say?!" Rin glared back at Kurumi. "I said that's enough! For the past year, I've watched you put Nozomi down, steal from her, get her into trouble without evidence, insult her grades, AND to top that all off, you've called her a failure multiple times! Including the rest of us! This HAS to stop, Kurumi! If Coco and Nuts are being blind to it, then I'll step up and put you in your place instead!" "Rin-san, that's unnecessary. The staff will take care of this, I'm sure." Karen replied. "Karen-san! Are you serious?! You're the freaking student council president! If anyone can put a stop to bullying, it's the council!" Rin retorted. "Rin-san is right, Karen. You should bring this up to the council to properly propose anti-bullying tactics in the school. Like servalence cameras in the halls, for instance." Komachi added. "You know what? Tomorrow during our meeting, I'll definitely bring that idea up." Karen replied. "But wait!" Urara interjected. "What about outside of school?" "Who cares?!" Kurumi yelled rudely. "We do, Kurumi!" Rin yelled back at the Palmier caretaker. Kurumi scowled at Rin. "To answer your question, Urara. I'll step up and intervene at Natts House if Coco or Nuts don't do anything." Rin replied to the Cure of Effervescence. "Good idea, Rin-san. But I still feel like they should still do something." Urara replied. "I do too." Komachi said. "Same goes for me." Added Karen. "M-me too." Nozomi responded. "YOU SHUT UP!" Kurumi yelled at Nozomi. Nozomi flinched at Kurumi's tone of voice, which made the caretaker grin. "Aw, did that scare you, wittle baby Nozomi?!" Kurumi mocked in an infant tone of voice, making Rin pissed. "Kurumi! Stop this instant!" The pissed off Cure of Passion said. "NO!" Kurumi barked in reply. Urara then got up from her seat in the outside cafeteria. "Kurumi-san! I have had it with you treating Nozomi-san like that! I'm telling a teacher, right now!" "No need to, Kasugano-san." The Cures all turned towards their lunch lady and headmistress, Ms. Otaka. "Mimino-san! I've overheard this entire conversation amongst you girls, and your behavior towards Yumehara-san is beyond unacceptable! For verbally harassing and bullying Yumehara-san, you are hereby suspended for the rest of the month! And you'll be serving after-school detention during that time! Now, please come with me to the vice principal's office to further discuss your punishment!" Ms. Otaka said. Kurumi stood up from her seat angrily and glared at Nozomi. "This isn't over, sucker!" She barked. "Let's go, Mimino-san!" Ms. Otaka scolded. Kurumi reluctantly followed the beloved lunch lady inside the school. "Thank goodness that Ms. Otaka stepped in." Komachi said, smiling. "Yeah, like how a responsible adult SHOULD act!" Rin replied. "I gotta thank her later." Nozomi said quietly. "Definitely." Karen responded. "We should make her and the teachers gifts this coming week!" Urara beamed with excitement. Rin smiled. "That's a great idea, Urara. I'll design some accessories that we can make for them." "Alright then! We'll make our teachers gifts! It's decided!" Nozomi said happily. The four Cures then smiled at their leader, who was now her bubbly self again. Fin.
Great video! The only point I didn’t agree with is Urara. I related to her a lot, considering we have the same dream and started small performance jobs at a young age. Seeing her get more work and her struggles throughout this season (as well as Go Go) really inspired me. Her and Cure Yell are my favorite cures. I can totally see why the idol industry freaks you out though. People are really disgusting sometimes... 💀
Huh... You know... I agree with you on all points you made in this minus Urara. True, idols in real life are basically what you stated. In anime, (most anime targeted at young females anyway as I also watched Perfect Blue, and can say it's probably the most accurate portrayal of what they go through) it's just another job. The villains were kind of boring in this one to be honest. They weren't evil for the sake of being evil, which in itself isn't a bad thing, but as characters they were less memorable than those in Futari Wa (let's be honest, David Bowie and Kiriya were the only minor villains people cared about in the first season.) The only exception is the Pirate Kowaina that appeared in episode 16 and turned out to get subsequent appearances in two PreCure movies. Truly that was one of the best monsters of the week ever made.
The whole thing between Coco and Nozomi honestly kind of creeps me out and he has far and away the most annoying voice of any stuffed animal. Those things are enough to put it below Splash Star for me. I know I'm far too late to the party, but after your Milk rant now I HAVE to see what you say about GoGo RIGHT the hell NOW.
Okay I just finished Yes! Precure 5 and it was... fine. I didn’t hit a point around episode 30 where I was bored these last two seasons so yay I’m getting in the rhythm BUT this season there was a point where Milk’s introduction and episode 16’s muddled message irritated me so much that I genuinely considered dropping the show. I didn’t mind Urara but Milk is the worst character the franchise has ever seen, putting Pollun and Lulun to shame. She got a bit more tolerable as the season went on but I still want her dead. The message of hope was very good though. So yeah this season is okay. Some good points, some bad. Oh wait there’s 48 more episodes with these characters. Huh. My current rankings: 1) HUGtto! (by far) 2) Splash Star 3) Max Heart 4) Yes! 5 5) Futari wa
I don't believe they forced her to sing. They said she should try it. She could have decided singing has nothing to do with acting and therefore isn't worth looking into. But, she tried singing and now she's into it. Other than that, I agree with your review.
I remember absolutely nothing about this season just as how I remember absolutely nothing about the seasons before it, but there is one thing about Yes 5 that still haunts me to this day. THE MONSTERS. LIKE WTH IS THAT. WHY DOES IT LOOK SO TERRIFYING.
Eh, I actually think Yes! 5's designs are more prettier than GoGo!... yes, I think GoGo's is uglier.. There's something about the color palette and the simplicity that makes me love the outfits in Yes! 5 XD I guess I can see why people say it is ugly but I can't see the appeal in GoGo's at all XD
Out of these five, Nozomi and Komachi are my favorites. For the former, I like how she eventually finds out what she wants to do with her life: becoming a teacher.I also like how, with Karen's help, she starts getting better grades and takes her schoolwork more seriously.Hell, she even goes on to tutor Rin's siblings. For the latter, I love her quiet and kindhearted personality. As someone who also wants to become a writer, I can't help but respect her for that and how Nuts, unfortunate as it is, has to tell her that her writing isn't very good.I'm glad she learned from that because that's something I could never do (I'm embarrassed by people reading my stories, so I never get any constructive criticism.Though, I tend to realize myself when a story isn't as good as I thought it was.).
Tbh, I don't understand this weird idea some people have with Idols. What I mean is that they are not so different to what the "west" is doing with boy groups and teenage pop stars and the like. As someone who is not that deep into either of the two, I feel like these are basically the same concept, just targetting slightly different audiences and marketing them a bit differently. I feel like strange things going on behind the scenes is something that happens in both cultures. Which is not to say you are not allowed to criticise them, but it feels weird to me that some people seem to have the idea that "Idols" are something inherently different. At the end of the day, every media is just there to entertain you while trying to make the most amount of money of it. So they will always market things or people that have a large pull. And Japan (or Asia) seems to focus more on girls for this. I just get the feeling that a lot of people are just seeing this as strange because their only real contact is through anime without ever looking deeper into the whole culture itself. I would assume if there were more movies showing the "dark side" of a teen pop star, everyone would react similarly especially if they were never the target audience for that kind of thing in the first place. I mean, if I see what drastic changes in personality/music someone like Hannah Montanna/Mily Cyrus went through or just the fact that there were a lot of musicians dying relatively early on, I could imagine a lot of stuff going on behind the scenes as well that people are not aware of, because that part of entertainment is not featured in the media they usually consume.
I think the big difference is that most of these boy and girl groups are normally the best of the best singers, and idols are more about having fun, because I’m pretty sure it’s not about ability, but presentation.
@@thomasffrench3639 Tbh, isn't that kind of the whole internet influencer thing in a nutshell? It's not about being the best necessarily, but presenting it in the most entertaining way. And personally, I think especially with shows where they search for some secret talent, those are often also not the best of the best. Otherwise they would have already made it. Those are often also interesting personalities that the people want to see for a longer time. Because let's also face it, the main listener to music can't make the difference between good and very good singers most of the time.
2 of these characters are like harem anime male leads, but they're girls and they dont have harems and they actually managed to realize that they could some day make a living out of their constant urge to help everybody around them
Great review as usual, although to be honest, I would like to hear your thoughts more in depth on the concept of how idols are presented. As one who's not super huge into idols (unless you maybe count Vocaloid, but let's face it, the chances of a Vocaloid anime happening at this point are slim at best). Speaking of which, what are your thoughts on idol anime such as Love Live and Super Sonico?
Do you mean how idols are presented in general or in this show? In either case, I don't think I could go into too much more depth, as I do try to keep my distance from them, thanks to Perfect Blue. I fully admit to not having in-depth knowledge of the culture/industry outside of what I've gleamed from pop culture (read: anime) representations of them. I've seen Love Live all the hell over the internet, but have never bothered to watch it. Actually, I think I've been avoiding it. I think it's one of those things where one day, in the far future, I'll watch an episode or two just to say I've seen it, and then negatively compare it to K-ON! or something like that. As for Sonico, I had completely forgotten she was a thing until you brought her up, and I'll probably have forgotten her again come morning.
Super Sonico is one of those shows that I have a nostalgic connection with not solely because I have a thing for product idols (see the aforementioned quip about Vocaloid), but because the character of Sonico herself was just a lovely positive character who enjoyed making people happy and living life to the fullest. If you haven't seen SoniAni (Super Sonico: The Animation), I'd actually seriously recommend it. It's not exactly on the same level as K-ON! ( let's face it, what is?), but it does have quite a lot of charm to it.
Another great review, you nail it dude. I only wished you would have mentioned something that tossed my guts that is Nozomi (a 14yo) relationship with her teacher Coco; kind of pedophilia vibes for me. The fact that Coco is indeed a transformed animal fairy just get the things worse. The same happens with Komachi and Nutts. Also the unbearable jealousy of Nozomi from just watching Coco (again, her teacher) talking with other girls. What kind of message is that? XD. The unlimited hopeful girl dispearing because her teacher was talking to other female students?
geh this came out in 2008 or 2007, where the whole idol HYPE was about to take center stage (no pun intended) with AKB 48 and whatnot, so of course being Japan whose entertainment industries are obsessed with idol culture she's bound to be hamfisted in to it >.> sighs everyone hates Milk, not sure if there IS anyone out there that likes her =_+ ............... and YES I LOVE how the background resembles that of a European town design ! I know they say it's still in Japan and whatnot, but it can easily pass off as a western fantasy setting ~ I actually NEVER realized that it was [ COCO ] - [NUTS] @_@ ................... you have opened my eyes .............. My only main issue with this series is that the way they pair Nozomi and Komachi with their stuffed furry romantic interests makes it look like they're encouraging teenage girls to hook up with guys that are 10 years older than them >.> cuz honestly their human forms make them look like they're at least 20 something BUT THE MOVIE WAS FUCKIG AMAZINGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! LOVE! LOVE! LOVE! the dark clones !!!!! again this was like, a hint of them testing the water with bringing in a full time dark precure that may or may not become their friend. While Kaoru and Michiru had the characteristics and set ups for being dark cures that turned good, these 5 had the aesthetic FLARE about them but not much character. Mix the 2 together BOOM you get Eas xD
Absolutely loved this season. While I will say Splash Star is better on the grounds that Michiru and Kairu's subplot was so well done, this season is great. Nozomi is a great lead with solid friendships with everyone in the group and yet can be really badass sometimes, Rin is alright but I didn't get as invested into her as you did, Komachi is a likable character and her bound with Nuts is great, Karen is fun to watch and she is the only reason I can slightly tolerate Milk, and Urara I loved. I understand you're bias for the idol thing which trust me irl can be rough and cruel but in the lens of the season I saw it as her taking a chance on something and even still by the end her motivation hasn't changed as she still wishes to be an actress. I also found her already having some progress on her path to being an actress even before the series began to actually be really well handled. They made it believable by her being only in really minor bit roles as well as I think it shows that sometimes people can be ahead of you in their dreams. Like I feel that's the message the show is going for as each girl has a different level of progression, Nozomi, Rin and Karen don't know what to do till they become Pretty Cure, Komachi is trying to be a writer but isn't great at it but still knows what she wants, and Urara is already on her path and slowly will grow on that path. It's the differences I think are important so kids can have different points in their dreams if that makes any sense. I am surprised you never mentioned fight scenes in this review aside from the movie, as I thought it was great especially each girl having their own finisher moves especially after upgrading. Also I am surprised you never brought up Nuts and Coco. Honestly, they are the best fairies so far, they help to improve both Nozomi and Komachi rather well and their characters are just likable especially Nuts with his dark past. The romance element is kinda weird for me but I don't think it is bad necessarily. Also the villains aside from the soul sucking evil company thing I found were fun but never as good as the villains from Splash Star but some of them like Bumbee and Despria were interesting especially in how their stories end in this series. But besides them the villains are just kinda blah to me granted the animal motif is something new and cool especially the first villain looking like a Scyther.
There are few anime characters I hate as much as Milk, one being Chibiusa from Sailor Moon and another - that bitch from Peach girl (you know the one). They have one thing in common. They are "the good guys" either from the start or become such without changing a bit, we are supposed to like them.
As much as I love Yes Precure 5, it's one of my favorites in the franchise, there were some episodes that just made me want to drop the show and never look back those episodes being: Episode 11 Episode 21 Episode 23 which I regard as the WORST episode in the franchise because of how stupid the argument turned between the five girls and not to mention just how mean the other cures are to Nozomi sometimes And finally episode 30 (Milk was awful in that episode)
I think you might need to brush up a bit on your terminology. In your reviews, you keep referring to the sidekicks as "cute animal friends". Their trope role is officially called "familiar", named after a wizard's... not quite pet, but animal assistant they use to aide in their spellcasting/research of the natural world. Also, "finishing move" and "friendship laser", "barrage attack, etc. Maybe read more TV Tropes.
Milk grew on me. I hated her at first too but she had fairly logical if not immature reasons for her actions and behavior, she feels believable and overall adds to the web of characters bouncing off one another, especially the childish bickering with Nozomi that had some entertaining moments. I could see how you hate Urara but I loved her for fairly shallow reasons. It became a game for me to find and screencap all the dumb smiley faces she makes but for the most part you opened my eyes on how little she offers to the table. My only defense is that not every character in an ensemble cast has to dole out equal amounts of quality content and I think the point of her character was to just give you something to smile with. There are loads of people in real life who are okay with whatever is laid out in front of them.
I wasn't a huge fan of Pretty Cure 5. I wasn't a huge fan of Rin or Komachi. Komachi doesn't have that many episodes that looked at her getting better at writing and Rin just annoyed me. Even her dream comes out of left field. Now, I liked that the sports girl wanted to do something that wasn't sports, but this didn't work if you ask me. That only reason she made that accessory was to get the attention of a boy, who was most likely twice her age. At the end of it, I think Urara was my favorite character. Yeah, I know the idol stuff isn't great, but I found her dream more entertaining then the others as we saw her improving on it, while the others had just 1 episode to and that was it. Nozomi's was alright, but I knew what she was going to be when Coco showed up in episode 2. Overall, I didn't hate this season, but it's not my favorite of Pretty Cure.
Oh that's true. For Karen I liked her as her introduction to the show was handled well, but kinda like Rin her dream comes in at the very end of the show. It would have been neat, if we saw more of her wanting to be a doctor, instead of healing a fairy. Yeah, it would have gotten old, but it would have been good to get show her as a healing member.
Anyway, Tyranno. What I'mtrying to say is I hate Homura AKEMI on the same level as you hate Milk from the first season of Yes 5, and I understand your hate for that character.
It's at this point that your lack of commenting on the Yuri subtext is kind of frustrating, the shipping may have just happened previously, but ti's at this point it becomes the writers on some level know what they're doing even if they'll never admit it. Still Doki Doki is considered the most Yuri, or was until Hugtto. Though I'm more into shipping the Smile characters.
for me it was one of the lesser liked seasons. probably because of totaly fiffeent order of wieving those series stubid thought adding another precure make for more fun se1 2 precure, season 2 3 precures, season 3 4 precures, season4 5 precures, season 5 6 precures. i really like that it did not continue trought fresh and further also Smile precure is probably better version of yes 5...much better version, mostly thanks to Candy. this is also the reason i did not watch yes 5 go go for the long time after atching all other series around 2014 pink warior typeprecure was established in this season and most of other color coded character traits also sticks for very long time in universe on a silly note art style is so minimalistic , no girl in the show, other than adults have any breasts :P how dare you like it more than splash star! :P i need to watch more of your videos
Interesting... I definitely enjoy all of the reviews. Seldomly do I comment, but here are some points I think are worth mentioning... The romance is... bizarre, and I can understand why many people would feel uncomfortable with it. I was shocked when this was not elaborated. Milk acts fairly immature and tsuntsun, obviously. But, the audience can clearly see that she displays clear emotions when she screws up... Yes, she is super annoying, but, to be fair, she actually does grow a bit by the end of this season... Plus, it was mentioned that her age is typical for middle school student, and she does act like how many typical middle school students could act... Again, I understand the complaints. And, I guess the art is a matter of personal preference... It is unique, but I found it to clash greatly with the foreground most of the time. I thought it looked rough, unpleasant, and hastily done. Some might find it charming, and that is fine, but I think it is cheaply done. I would also defend some aspects about Urara. I am more or less indifferent about her, but being flexible and open to trying new and different things are part of life, which definitely is also the case for the entertainment industry, especially in Japan. And, by the end, she ended up liking it, much like a child not wanting to try a certain food at first... Also, this is coming from someone who feels similarly about idols in general... Also, Komachi is easily my favorite as well. Nutts is also quite good because he is honest and direct, but even his mannerisms are explained. And yes, I thoroughly enjoyed the movie. I am surprised the video didn't discuss the main villains in detail... Kawarino, like Katejina Loos, is such a wonderfully evil and despicable character, and Desparaia is such a sad, pathetic, and tragic character. Her main motive is... very understandable but nothing grand. Nightmare is... weird. It's just there without much of an explanation, which is typical in these shows. The corp motif was neat. However, more could have been done to flesh out the lore of Nightmare and many other plot points of the show in general. I might be mistaken, but I believe there is a continuity error with the movie and the amount of pinkies acquired... Apparently, they had all been acquired by Shadow and the last one by Urara, but then when the show resumes after the movie, it's like that event never happened and pinkies are on the loose... Even the last pinky is a different one in the show... The movie is a canonical side story and not an alternate setting... Another aspect that was off-putting was the sense that it felt like Precure et al. existed in a vacuum most of the time... The sense of community is almost non-existent, and most of the families are absent. Sure, there were a few moments for them and a few other characters, but they were primarily irrelevant and simply not part of it. Family members and Masuko-san, just disappeared at one point... The extended cast appeared to not be nearly as meaningful and natural as other installments. Setting was also an issue... The main setting and some others felt fairly bland and not well-invested, unfortunately. The setting felt dull and lacked a sense of liveliness, something that many other installments capitalized on, regardless of the main themes. Overall, it felt like many of the instances of the show happened because they simply had to happen and did not flow as nicely and naturally as other installments of the series. Again, this is typical of the genre, but I felt this season was too typical and predictable at times. This season is definitely quite experimental and enjoyable, but I, personally, would not rank it as high for the various reasons, including and not limited to some of the points I mentioned. I believe many of the show's ideas and concepts were great, but the execution of those ideas and concepts was not as good as it could have been... I think of this season as a great mixed bag. Anyway, these are just some of my thoughts and opinions... Thank you for your time and effort!
WTF not every Mahou Shoujo is a rip-off of Sailor Moon, not even the Super Sentai style. You guys need to understand Sailor Moon wasn’t the first Mahou Shoujo.
It's relevant because I hate HOMURA AKEMI on the same level as you hate Milk from Yes! Precure 5. And I'm sick & tired of every anime fan sting that what she did at the end of the movie was to protect Madoka. That's BULLSHIT!!! She's just an immature prick & obsessor who wants to decide what's best for Madoka and not move on with her life.
Ah, I see. I agree that Homura was not in the right in Rebellion, but I do believe her decision made her a more interesting character. Not likable or good, mind you, just interesting. My (admittedly hyperbolic) hatred of Milk stemmed from her being an unlikable character who was on screen waaaaaaaaaay too much, where as Devil Homura didn't have nearly enough screen time for me to start resenting her presence.

I loved this season as a child! This is so nostalgic for me
And as I child I also hated milk with my whole heart. Still do to this day
Why didn’t she get any controversy when Yes 5 was airing?
This season was the first where the fairies can turn into humans and have a relashionship close to love with their partners; Nozomi and Coco, Komachi and Nuts, urara and Syrup for exemple. I think it's cute that their bounds are that strong X3 Yeah, it's a bit weird that fairies fall in love with young girls but it's not disgusting or creepy; plus there's no harassment between them. I always find it adorable honestly!
The powers are cool and colorful but the outfits of the girls are...a little ugly. I prefer the ones in Splash Star and in the next season.

"What?! You got ANOTHER 25%?! What is wrong with your dumb brain, Nozomi?!" Kurumi scolded.
Nozomi started to tremble. "W-well, I-"
Kurumi interrupted the pink haired Pretty Cure. "You what?! Did you slack off during Coco's study session?! Did you fall asleep in class again?! I can't wait to hear what excuse you have awaiting us THIS time!"
Nozomi mumbled something quietly.
"What was that?!" Kurumi barked.
"It's nothing..." Nozomi squeaked.
Kurumi smirked with delight. "Oh no, it ain't! Tell me, crybaby Nozomi!"
"KURUMI! THAT'S ENOUGH!!"
Everyone then turned their eyes from Kurumi scolding Nozomi, onto Rin, whose eyes were red with flames of anger.
Kurumi went over to Rin. "What did you say?!"
Rin glared back at Kurumi. "I said that's enough! For the past year, I've watched you put Nozomi down, steal from her, get her into trouble without evidence, insult her grades, AND to top that all off, you've called her a failure multiple times! Including the rest of us! This HAS to stop, Kurumi! If Coco and Nuts are being blind to it, then I'll step up and put you in your place instead!"
"Rin-san, that's unnecessary.
"What about outside of school?"
"Who cares?!" Kurumi yelled rudely.
I'm telling a teacher, right now!"
"No need to, Kasugano-san."
The Cures all turned towards their lunch lady and headmistress, Ms.
I'll design some accessories that we can make for them."
"Alright then! We'll make our teachers gifts! It's decided!" Nozomi said happily.
The four Cures then smiled at their leader, who was now her bubbly self again.
Fin.
Ah yes, milk hater and dream lover. I found my friend!
Nozomi is my fav too and also where do i sign?
I think they marry in a precure manga
@@malanala7371 wHAt?
Huh.
My current rankings:
1) HUGtto! (by far)
2) Splash Star
3) Max Heart
4) Yes! 5
5) Futari wa
I think urara is cute, not to mention that.
Not gonna lie, this season’s precure outfits was kinda... ugly. I like the designs in GoGo better.
100% with you.
Gogo was a necessity
Eh, I actually think Yes! 5's designs are more prettier than GoGo!... yes, I think GoGo's is uglier.. There's something about the color palette and the simplicity that makes me love the outfits in Yes! 5 XD I guess I can see why people say it is ugly but I can't see the appeal in GoGo's at all XD
Agreed.
Me too. The outfits in GoGo are so much nicer. Also why in this series does Cure Dream have a midriff?
16:55 the infamous "Milk" rant
About idols: you should totally watch AKB0048. Believe me.
The mascots are actually likeable this time, previous ones were AAAAAAAGH XDDD
Remember what Homura did to Kyubey?... Yeah.
The Milk roasts are so good that I feel bad for her.
I have to agree with you on Milk. I FUCKING HATE HER!!!!!!!!!! She is the most annoying brat ever! #FuckMilk
@@thomasffrench3639
Tbh, isn't that kind of the whole internet influencer thing in a nutshell? It's not about being the best necessarily, but presenting it in the most entertaining way. And personally, I think especially with shows where they search for some secret talent, those are often also not the best of the best. Otherwise they would have already made it. Those are often also interesting personalities that the people want to see for a longer time. Because let's also face it, the main listener to music can't make the difference between good and very good singers most of the time.
Try watching Pripara! (It's about Idols and it's rly good in my opinion)
Noted.
2 of these characters are like harem anime male leads, but they're girls and they dont have harems and they actually managed to realize that they could some day make a living out of their constant urge to help everybody around them
headcanon, what if milk was actually a spy sent by the bad guys and thats why she was such an a55 and appeared so late in the show?
You know you are dead when kawarino opens his eyes
And I realize comparing almost anything to K-ON! is completely unfair, but hey...well, I don't really have an excuse. :P
Aight then, another show added to my infinite backlog. (183 entries on MAL as of now.)
Heheh, same here. Also you should be happy to know I have been thrust headfirst into the JoJo fandom
Oh boy ima have a time watching your yes 5 gogo video
Another great review, you nail it dude. I only wished you would have mentioned something that tossed my guts that is Nozomi (a 14yo) relationship with her teacher Coco; kind of pedophilia vibes for me. The fact that Coco is indeed a transformed animal fairy just get the things worse. The same happens with Komachi and Nutts. Also the unbearable jealousy of Nozomi from just watching Coco (again, her teacher) talking with other girls. What kind of message is that? XD. The unlimited hopeful girl dispearing because her teacher was talking to other female students?
So you said that this season was your favourite which means you put it above Splash Star...I'll give you 25 minutes to explain yourself...
Everyone in Yes 5 gang: Flat

geh this came out in 2008 or 2007, where the whole idol HYPE was about to take center stage (no pun intended) with AKB 48 and whatnot, so of course being Japan whose entertainment industries are obsessed with idol culture she's bound to be hamfisted in to it >.>
sighs everyone hates Milk, not sure if there IS anyone out there that likes her =_+ ...............
and YES I LOVE how the background resembles that of a European town design ! I know they say it's still in Japan and whatnot, but it can easily pass off as a western fantasy setting ~
I actually NEVER realized that it was [ COCO ] - [NUTS] @_@ ................... you have opened my eyes ..............
My only main issue with this series is that the way they pair Nozomi and Komachi with their stuffed furry romantic interests makes it look like they're encouraging teenage girls to hook up with guys that are 10 years older than them >.> cuz honestly their human forms make them look like they're at least 20 something
BUT THE MOVIE WAS FUCKIG AMAZINGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! LOVE! LOVE! LOVE! the dark clones !!!!! again this was like, a hint of them testing the water with bringing in a full time dark precure that may or may not become their friend.
Hey you spoiled story of this show for me...
Oh, wait I already have watched to this show...

There are few anime characters I hate as much as Milk, one being Chibiusa from Sailor Moon and another - that bitch from Peach girl (you know the one). They have one thing in common. They are "the good guys" either from the start or become such without changing a bit, we are supposed to like them.
Hope vs dispear? HM deja vu
As much as I love Yes Precure 5, it's one of my favorites in the franchise, there were some episodes that just made me want to drop the show and never look back those episodes being:
Episode 11
Episode 21
Episode 23 which I regard as the WORST episode in the franchise because of how stupid the argument turned between the five girls and not to mention just how mean the other cures are to Nozomi sometimes
And finally episode 30 (Milk was awful in that episode)
I think you might need to brush up a bit on your terminology. In your reviews, you keep referring to the sidekicks as "cute animal friends". Their trope role is officially called "familiar", named after a wizard's... not quite pet, but animal assistant they use to aide in their spellcasting/research of the natural world. Also, "finishing move" and "friendship laser", "barrage attack, etc. Maybe read more TV Tropes.
@@mermaidsubliminals1109 Just because they're fairies doesn't mean they're not Familiars.
totally agree with idol sucks hard part lol
What’s your opinion on the gay thing in precure franchise
Could you elaborate? I'm interested
Needed a 100th comment so I made the sacrifice
On second thought, yeah Milk brings out the worst in the season.
@@MAYOFORCE She acts like a Spoiled Princess for a Bodyguard & Caretaker to Prince Coco, & Prince Nuts.
Overall, I didn't hate this season, but it's not my favorite of Pretty Cure.
i didn't hear you say anything about karen yet
Oh that's true. For Karen I liked her as her introduction to the show was handled well, but kinda like Rin her dream comes in at the very end of the show. It would have been neat, if we saw more of her wanting to be a doctor, instead of healing a fairy. Yeah, it would have gotten old, but it would have been good to get show her as a healing member.
still NEVER going to get another ENGLISH DUB EVER though 18 seasons still WILL NEVER SEE a English DUB EVER.
Though I'm more into shipping the Smile characters.
for me it was one of the lesser liked seasons. probably because of totaly fiffeent order of wieving those series

how dare you like it more than splash star! :P
i need to watch more of your videos

Eh, I don't like the 5-Man Routine because it feels like a ripoff of Sailor Moon.

Adored this series, especially Girinma's arc. Resonated with university student me more than the protagonists
