The thing I love most about this theme is it sounds like a 90s wrestler's theme, like I could image a wrestler walking out to this in the Attitude Era.
I don't know. Whether it's 50 years ago or 50 years from now, a company suing itself (or suing a lesser arm of itself) is never going to sound normal. It's the combination of continued goodwill between 2 groups, the continued use of Dee-Jay, and the lack of any information of this alleged court battle that makes it look like there is no bad blood between Cap-A and Cap-J. What other mags reported this?
Yeah I could probably second that one. There are only a few songs on that game that I personally like: Ryu, Guile, Seth, Cammy, Sakura and M. Bison. I cant say that anything else was all that great. The fact that OC Remix was behind it I was expecting the EPICNESS. I was a sad panda when that wasn't the case. lol
you know this has been bothering me for a long time, what is with that hand coming out of Q' jacket? Or, is it suppose to be another person's arm in the picture?
@1337hotshot it just might. THe producer of ssf4 says that the 2 new characters that might appear in dlc may be R.Mika and Hugo. He also mentioned Rolento, but i think he dropped him from consideration because he wasn't all that mainstream.
All the original side stuff on the 1st disc was ported to the 2nd disc and all the extras on the 2nd disc was deleted. Things such as: Dating Sim, Detailed Character Creation, FMVS and 3 other movie intros. along with characters that was in the updated Rival Schools version (for Capcom released the game to the U.S. after this update). I've yet to see anything about Dee-Jay being missing in the Japanese version of SSFII or this court scuffle between 2 Capcoms. All I know for sure is that Cap-J DID approve of Dee Jay and more than likely made him made the in-game fighter after Goddard designed the character. Looking it up, looks like it WAS planned (even still advertised on the box), but got gutted because they didn't have the time to finish it. OR because Capcom thought Americans wouldn't like it. Oh I just got the dates wrong. Clover did indeed close, they are now Platinum Games. The benefit of the doubt is no longer available after the 3rd time the company have been caught doing questionable actions in less than two or four years.
Same for Rival Schools. What exactly was cut from the American release that was apparently in the original Japanese release? That you'd say is "40%" of the game? Why is Capcom Japan suing a subservient part of the company like Capcom America? Wouldn't Cap-J just fire the offending parties at Cap-A rather than go into a court with itself? Also, why can't I find anything about these lawsuits wherever I look? I also don't see anything about Dee Jay not being in the Japanese releases --cont--
Maybe if Capcom were an individual. But Capcom is a company full of different people coming through it. And no matter what, they would be the most knowledgeable about things concerning Capcom games. The truth will show itself one way or another, but until things start siding against a particular statement, I'll take their word.
It happens in big corporations all the time, when there is a dispute over IP rights and royalty revenues. Don't make suing synonymous with "getting money". Cap-A is the child company of Cap-J, so the rules are a bit different than those of an extended branch, like how Clover Studios worked. As for Dee-Jay, I remember reading about him in Gamepro and I've talked to people both in and out my friend-circle that remember it too.
@Archonus holy fuck someone else remembers that game too (i was like 4/5 when that game came out i have no idea how popular it was). Considering that capcom likes to coss chars over i'd like to see literally ANYONE but jumbo in a street fighter.
You can keep up a professional air while mentioning a previous legal incident. That's far from impossible. And with the folks you mentioned, we have a documented picture to prove negative feelings. Inafune as early as 2006 talked about how he hated his job and wanted to retire early, Itagaki shortly after leaving Tecmo sued them for a withheld bonus, Kamiya left after Clover Studios was dissolved by Capcom, Yuji Naka was angry at Sega's seniority based pay structure among other things...
Well console wise, you run into the other problem that the game was for the Dreamcast. A platform that got discontinued 3 months after Project Justice's Japanese release date. Again, do you mind elaborating on what Capcom America did to get sued over Akuma (like they apparently nearly got sued over Dee Jay and someone got forced to resign according to you).
