I am so grateful. It was my first time to participate in an overseas marathon, and I successfully signed up for the 🔴Chicago Marathon🔴, one of the six major marathons in the world. This time, this series will bring you to Chicago and experience the exciting vibe of the Chicago Marathon.
In the first episode, we are heading to explore the Chicago Marathon Expo.
The six major marathons all have large-scale Expo marathon exhibitions. In addition to participants, general public can also visit. The main purpose of our visit to the Expo was of course to pick up T-shirt and race bib. However, there will also be many large-scale photo backdrops at the Expo, booths set up by different brands, and even volunteer groups, and different runner-themed sharing. All major sports brands will do their best to launch products related to ChiMarthon. This time we will take you to the EXPO to taste interesting food, shop and experiences interesting activities, as well as to share some tips with you. In the next episode, I will record some highlights of my 2023 Chicago Marathon. Every October, a grand marathon is held in Chicago, USA. It is not only an IAAF gold label event, but also one of the six major marathons in the world (Abbott World Marathon Grand Slam). This year’s number of participants was 47,000, attracting different runners from all over the world to participate every year. 2023 is the 45th anniversary of the Chicago Marathon.
The competition has been held regularly every year since 1987. Since 2008, Bank of America has been the main sponsor of the event, so it is officially named the [Bank of America Chicago Marathon].
Although the Chicago Marathon is not as grand as the New York Marathon, nor as long-standing as the Boston Marathon, it may be the most sincere and runner-friendly marathon. The starting and ending points are set in Grant Park in the city center. The road passes through 29 different communities and ethnic groups in Chicago, from the business district, university district, residential area, to China Town. The entire city is a stage for runners. It is estimated that more than 1.7 million spectators cheered for the runners along the route. There were enthusiastic cheers of different races, languages. It is an important event for the whole city!
