Humans have a desire, a need, to know and understand. Sometimes that desire turns into obsession. That can lead to great discoveries and success. It can also lead to disaster. We walk a razors edge with research of some things. But if we didn't walk that edge, how often would we find great discoveries? Perhaps not often, and maybe some things we would discover could lead to our demise. Interesting story. Well done.
this is the kind of person who makes a break through. - who creates - Tessla was this kind of scientist. . . they are driven - they are incredible. and hardly anyone understands. . .
Great production - directing and acting fantastic. 🌷
Most scientists made sacrifices. She just sacrifices herself to get the neural map inside human brains. I think the idea of this short film is so related in development of research in laboratory
Congratulations..very thoughtful, tremendous presentation and acting..superior concept..
I can understand both perspectives. The experience of discovery is unique.
Well, she did it just like a true scientist would. Such a good effort by the CGBros and they should take some considerable pride for it.
I paused the video came down here to say 'I'm in love with ann and now going back up to keep watching the rest of the video.
Great portrayal of the human condition, the need to make a lasting difference for humanities sake. We all carry this burden unknowingly, some discover it as some ignore it. You did an awesome work in this short portrayal of an instance. Fictional but all too true. Bravo!
Brilliant and well done movie, but it is extremely thought provoking regarding scientific research and ethics. How far are we willing to go to get what we want? As I said extremely thought provoking indeed!
Love these short films. There well done and fantastic to watch. Thank you
WOW ...Fantastic Film . Great work .
Great short! Loved the story and superb acting! Thank you!!
Not bad! Lessons learned...be happy with some good results and stop with bad results...at least not on yourself! Kudos to all that worked on this film...I use to be a small independent film maker. Couldn’t raise the funds for my projects so I had to put in down. Makes me sad to go into my studio with all that equipment from iMacs, cameras, and thousands of dollars in software...love ‘pro tools” and “adobe Creator” with all the components.now all of it is on 1terabyte hard drive...I still write, short stories, scripts, and completed my 4th novel. So I still create. “Break a leg”...
Great actors in this short. I put it on while working on something else, but it was so good that I stopped what I was doing to turn off the lights and watch this intently. Really intense facials and editing. Nice work!
Hey Cassandra 😘
Having a degree in science it makes perfect sense to understand what the rewards and dedication that dictate what is needed for discovery! Madame Currie died doing just that!
Well, she just didnt really know what she was doing. I'm sure if she could go back she would have used radiation protection.
They don't give out degrees in "science".
Brilliant! Great storyline, acting was amazing!
This is what I saw.
A neuroscientist tries to find out how the brain link and work, but struggle to get funds.
But the progress isn't good enough, and they need a good result to continue.
So they crank the machine up and get a result, but the radiation is too strong, killing the mice afterward and burning the teacher's hand.
The machine work but the radiation is too intense, like an x-ray but too strong
So the student wants to stop the test and back out.
However, the teacher can't wait because she is dying and the fund won't last forever.
So she scans her brain prove the machine can work, but I believe she'll die because of that.
The teacher walked into the wood knowing her life means something and her work will benefit the world, so she smiles with the radiation burn on her face.
The machine proves it's worth, and her student can use the result to get fund and kept working on her legacy.
The pressure of getting good results, getting funds, and winning other competitors is intense in science.
So ethic and safety vs progress, company funding vs public interests, company funding vs truth
will away be a continuing tug war.
@@chrisdt2297 Thanks. Interesting.
Perfect synopsis of the movie! Good for anyone who doesn't have this understanding of the movie.
end up in extra debt...
Typical mind person.... Her Ego bigger than the building she's into.
Very good film! Thanks CGBros!!!
Totally AWESOME!!!’ 👍🏾💪🏽🙏🏽👌🏾
Very well executed production. Pro level which these days is hard to find in bankrupt hollywood.
Do not allow hollywood to steal and ruin you talents! Make your own way.
Very good film well worth the watch you did well keep it up
This was an amazing short film. I loved the suspense
Another award winner...
All these people who are giving awards to these short stories must be far far cleverer than me... if they can understand them!!!

"The most dangerous thing you will ever do is see a psychiatrist." - Peter Breggin, MD March 2, 2020
Bravo
One of the better CG ones.
Going to need to watch it again. What we are willing or obsessed enough about to put our own life at risk to prove What?
...to prove that our Ego is bigger than anyone's.
You guys are wrong.
She already knew she was dying.
She knew they could do it, but not if she died first. That’s why she was so driven.
To sacrifice oneself for the greater good is not ego, it’s a very noble and unselfish gift to humanity.
Not much CG, but very confidently produced.
After the doobie: "What if we go get a pizza?" Discovery is left undiscovered...
Wow. Suspenseful.
These sci-fi shorts are TOO short! What happens next, dang it!?
Didn't you notice what the woman looked like at the end?
Great film.
Oh man...wow!
Mad scientist does mad scientist stuff and wastes 20 minutes of my life I’ll never get back.
aw, you poor thing - you just wasted 1 minute of my time!!! >:|
It’s surprising the amount of different takes on this. I thought it was pretty clear.
Whoa! 10/10 UK
*Some give all; many give as little as possible.*

God didn't want her to give all. Satan comes to kill, steal and destroy. Pride was her undoing.
@@denisejustdenise I believe God did send her to change the world---- in her area of talent. She gave everything God graced her with. She was not perfect. Satan could never influence someone with as much commitment and brains that she was born with. Satans servants aren't that smart.
@Oliver Von arx True divinity is a contradiction. False prophets know all about God--- etc.
Great actors!
This Short made me cry.
She is awesome. This is awesome.
I do believe this one passed the Bechtel test. ;)
These animations can teach a lot and let to understand many life things and lessons
Geez, good thing they sectioned the acellerating voltage.
Great piece of work (really), but what the hell just happened ?
Very well done.
@3:43 "They're looking stressed" Yes well they were just about to get a massive needle stuck in their heart I'd be pretty stressed Myself.
BRILLIANT
Great acting!!
Alright. Until I can read brain scans, I have no clue about the ending. I’ll check back after I finish medical school.
Don't make me angry. You wouldn't like me when I'm angry.
That was a green cross-hair, not a red one... ;)
She hulk granny??
Very nice film.
Christine Kellog-Darrin continues to make great choices in her career.
Good writing while also some dramatic acting talent that's able to convey meaning in this story better than usual. The experiments of "Nectome" in Silicon Valley are somewhat in line with this science fiction scenario. Those are terminal patients, and the level of the scans upload the brain activity in real time immediately after pronounced dead, and it is a process uploading cyber-space data stream of the ionic molecular processes in computer data recording theorized to collect enough brain function pattern, structure and organization so that in the future AI will be able to synthesize an AI emulation copy of that functioning brain, a computerized clone of that human mind. But it is not at all a big program, as all the theory is experimental, and costs way over $10,000 per dying patient. It's only for those who have decided attempting this brain scan data collection seeking future invention to live again somehow, totally experimental with no guarantees and costing that much money. But at least 25 people have given that payment to try this. Nectome has proven in a laboratory trial accuracy of preservation and scan of a pig brain so that the molecular data is within nanometers variance of the original organic brain tissue. It remains to be seen if new AI technology such as "quantum computer" capability will make an image of that brain able to mirror something of the original living brain enough to actually make a real computer clone version of that functioning brain and mind. However, this is really a research project. What I notice is that the story doesn't really explain the application idea, but a new kind of life after death is pretty amazing to be a real science research project. This sci-fi doesn't go there, but everything about this story connects in dozens of ways to that one.
Such good actors
Loved the movie
Does the good doctor long to make this breakthrough discovery
for the good of the human race
OR,
Does the good doctor wish to make this breakthrough discovery
for the glory & recognition she knows will be bestowed upon her?

smoke pot smoke pot everybody smoke pot...
Clarity is ... unclear.
How are you supposed to enjoy a short like this with some many ads?
I didn't get it whether she has succeeded or not what does that face mean at the end if she has succeeded then why did she break the device if not why was that glow on face with a crazy wink? ......
I didn't get the ending .
mopidevi asset me neither

@@chrisdt2297 Yep, that's the way I took it. She was sick, Funding running out, mice was to small. She had faith in her design/invention/research. Nuked her self silly over time, then jumped under the machine her self. assistant comes in & reads the data & it all works, proven worth! which is why she has a look of somebody who just discovered something, just as she said. But cost her life but in her work she will live & allow others to live Life. Assistant inherits all her work & grants..
@@chrisdt2297 then why is everything of that machine was broken and unwired
@@mopideviasset448
My guess is when your brain is radiated so badly, you will have a hard time getting up.
She pulls the machine tries to sit up, break it.
Swipe all the things on the desk to the floor.
Stand up and bump into the boxes, then walk out.
Very impressive 😃👍
Good thriller film, oh with science equipment
depends upon the producer of this short … could extend into full-length production. nice work.
Let's change the name to "Suicidal Compulsion," shall we? "Obsession" works, too!
I am surprised they kept using the same two mice over and over. and they should have made a move to cover the rest of the mouse body, leaving only the head free. I did not like the fact that no shielding was used to protect the doc and assistant when turning on their machine.
I got the concept they were trying to achieve, but attention to detail would have counted a lot in this short movie.
who can afford shielding?
We are but Cheez-Puffs in the party mix of the universe...
Intense.
The Cooler King's grandma...The Cooked Queen. Lol.
That joint looked like a Taylor made to me, perfectly rolled?
she looked more like the vaping kind anyway.
I thought that it was a cigarette, and that she had lung cancer. Since she gave her head a radiation dose, I'm guessing that she has a brain tumor.
Thought: What a wonderful gift.
Excellant..
can't leave us hanging like that 🤔
Why do all of these films end with no conclusion? Interesting, well done, good acting...no conclusion.
j that's what's good about it. there are more layers happening than in typical hollywood, it lets you use your mind
"We are NOT equals..." ooooooh! there it was. harsh.
Wake me when it's over.
Brilliant film, and I agree with you all, but I don't understand one thing!!
Is red eye like pink eye, just worse?
All Things For Fun Media . I haven’t heard the expression in ages, it used to be used for train travel but I suppose it might be extended to plane travel. It refers to late night/early morning travel that leaves the traveler with red eyes from tiredness....
Then she gets angry and turns green just saying!!?
Richard Warnock
lab teacher just hulked out.
she did a job on that lab.
bye, going to die now.
I would like to know what the board think of this.
The English subtitles mangle the speech and distort all meaning. After all the work to make this short film, it's a shame this was done so badly.
I love how this ended! She turned herself into something like the predator monster but also an undead angel. That’s why she was glowing. She was shown going into the woods outside of the school because she was getting ready to hunt her prey. Her prey would be all the people that didn’t fund her but also all the right wing people that want to stop weed smoking.
I think that she also found a super hybrid weed, that when smoked turns others into undead left leaning Ángel demons that make others smoke the weed and therefore keep the cause “alive”. Great plot, thanks.
WOW
6G 66.6 gigahertz ultra evolution!
The story of 25th degree Scorpio Sun.
😘
I gave it a thumbs up even though I was disappointed.
This has almost nothing to do with how actual science, incl. scientific discovery, works today. The film isn't necessarily bad because of that, it's just not about science.
Dr. Blowfert...paging Dr. Blowfert...
OMG a fire! No, just a gas leak.
The production and acting on this are excellent - the ending feels abrupt and puzzling. Some of these well done shorts feel a bit like half formed thoughts- maybe lots of ppl arent as engrossed by storyline as I am- more consuming the style of the thing? I don't need a tidy ending... but would prefer to know its more of a treatment/teaser than short film.
Conclusion: No matter what...smoke weed everyday.
It's your brain that is harmed, so have at. I won't complain about less competition in this world.
Unless you're a scientist
@@johnkennedy4023 Yes, they're mad enough. :)

she sure did.
I though she was going to send that ball thru the wall on last throw.
Liked where it was going...Would’ve like to know where it ended!?! Uncompleted work shouldn’t be considered a short story, when a story consists of a beginning, a middle and a end. I appreciate a cliffhanger but I need substance, as to know which side of the cliff to hang off???
IKaiUfa
I hear you on that.
It's a dilemma humanity has dealt with for millennia. Just how far should you go?
You couldn't get much more rude and selfish than that old lady
I get it!
If the scientist lady wants to cure herself, smoke some pot. Works for me.😁
So we’ve gotten to a point where we smoke dope to make us better at what we do - next time I’m at work caring for your loved ones I’ll double toak a fatty ! Good luck !
That's all you got out of this short movie? LMAO Ok toak it is...
what is happening in this video???i don’t get it
You're not the only one.
Its just about the average day of a "mind" person.
I'm confused..the ending....
She sacrificed her own life for scientific discovery.
Oliver Von arx , I noticed that, too. They probably took her as the model....
My curie comment was meant for Tracy Stowell
what was it all about...somebody explain please...
About accurately scanning your brain, she dies but there is a copy, and what makes her her may wake up again in another body one day.
Who knows.
It is about the damage that the "mind" can make to one person.
