In case anyone else is interested... the two statues are called Power & Speed. They are holding a lion & an eagle and currently reside at Eltham College in London. This is the second short I’ve seen them in, so I was motivated to hunt down the location.

As a long term sci fiction fan all I can say is that this short puts to shame many many big money productions from Hollywood, time travel is very tricky to get right, this one is not perfect (fight scene at the dunes lmao) but it shows the power of putting your heart in to a project. Bravo! and can't wait to see more from the team! Well done Well done Well done. This story can be easily developed for a 6 or 8 part miniseries.

@Luffaman You do realize this story took place in the past, right? That future.. is the current day world, except with temporal modifications which will cease to exist due to future-Arthur breaking the 'train of thought' through past-Arthur's new belongings.

    • @MistedMind
      @MistedMind 4 года назад +3

@@SeedlingNL Yet, if that "time-travel tech" won't come to exist, how then can he still hold in his hands his diary brought back FROM THE FUTURE by his son?
If it's time travel: It's a bloody messy one.
If it's dimensional travel - as suggested when his son says "must have changed lanes" then, there's still the "bloody future" with time-travel technology:
But only in the last dimension shown the dad won't make his formula public to prevent this dimensions end (wall).

After 19 minutes of watching this, I was fully invested in the rest of the story. Even though the time traveling ass-clown did get his hands on the car keys, he totally forgot about journal that the father handed to his son. In the end, I think time DID change due the father finding the future copy of his journal. Very well done. I've become a fan of these 20-40 minute movies; some of them are much better than what main stream Hollywood is currently making. Just sayin'. 🇨🇦👊🏻🤙🏻

@beingsentient significance of keys . They took train cause could not find car keys. The leap already happened is why couldn’t find keys in the first place. While on train first time the kid made a statement that helped dad get formula of time travel solved eventually causing destruction of worlds.

@Christian Holz. excellent comment. IMHO social media, like twitter, has resulted in the dumbing down of the young. I've been frustrated at the terse devolvement of communication which is limited to 140 characters. It's acceptable for Hyku (spelling) but leads to the loss of all long form literature which promotes emotional and philosophical discourse. Twitter is short and unable to move people. Keates, Shakespear, Dickens inspire us, and contribute to the culture which has become bland in the current generation. We are enriched by the gift of literature.

This is what professional filmmakers create when they're making art out of passion, without any of the constraints, forced rewrites or compromises inherent in large commercial productions. In fact, RUclips, and to a lesser extent all the other free streaming platforms have reawakened the true second "Golden Age" of filmmaking, with presenters like CGBros, and Dust, and a few others showing top quality independent films. Despite having subscriptions to several streaming services, I actually spend more time watching CGBros and Dust than I do those mainstream services.
And, oh, I really enjoyed this - especially the part where the alternate diary fell out, giving him the chance to change their future..

One of the best films I have watched in a very long time, well worth the time spent. Here is what I believe time travel will be. When a person travels in time, that person can only experience the time in which he or she lived. The time traveler will be able to visit their own past, and not their future. The time traveler will be looking out their own past eyes riding like a passenger inside a plane controlled by the pilots, ei themselves in the past. There will be no way to change the outcome of the past, only re-experience it. The time traveler could once again see their loved ones that have passed, once again bringing clear past experiences that have been lost to the fog of time.

With films done this well, it looks like I won't be standing in line paying huge sums of cash for tickets, sitting next to people that smell like hot dog water, choking on cheap popcorn, when I can see better films in my own living room and not miss a scene if I have to go to the bathroom! Wonderful entertainment here and great actors and production.

Very well done, and a great story line. Well acted and good editing. I enjoyed it very much. Pity Hollywood can not do these types of films anymore.

How come these short films are so much better and original than the boring, repetitive, and over-hyped garbage coming out of Hollywood?

Very well done, enough subtly disturbing, but not overtly screaming stuff.... but same complaint I've been making since at _least_ the year 2027, there is ultimately only ONE time-travel plot.

That was mind blowing. Thank you. It's a vain hope but I hope to see rich ideas like this on the big screen again. If Chris Nolan can do "Dunkirk" then you guys have a chance.

I wish these writers would make whole movies!!!! I love this. I get so mad at writers today they can't write so they make sequels, one after another. If you all would make 2 to 3 hour long, in depth, movies like this I would watch every single one. Man 9.5 out of 10 short film you all make are just hands down the best around.
