Just now heard one, sounded slightly deeper but not much. Thought maybe it was a tiny dog breed at first, but that made zero sense considering where I live lol. Thanks for posting this, it helped
Heard this last night while laying in bed watching a movie. My husband and I searched the woods. Glad to now know what this was! Found out how scared my husband is in the dark 😄
Heard this when we lived on the backwater of the Ohio River somewhere in Kentucky. Like it was in a tree right over our bedroom window. Freaked me and my husband out.
We just heard on on our hillside, have a mama and 2 fawns that visit us... they took off up the hill like lightening! Never heard one before, definitely a bobby!!
Years ago I heard one screaming unusually I followed his screams. Some poachers had set traps on our land I ran back gotta burlap bag finally got it in the bag an Uncle came help fix it up we rehabbed it. I followed their trap line took everyone of the traps tacked piece of cardboard on a tree with a note ..they never came to get em..he was a young cat and beautiful I saw him on the mountain few times his leg healed but you could still see where that trap got him..
@LeMortso coyotes are mean around here. They will come up in your yard and come kill your pets, dog or cat and pets can't wander off far from your house around here. There are packs of coyotes all around where I live and they pose dangers to your outdoor pets. I would shoot a coyote if they come anywhere in or near my yard. They done killed a pet cat of mine recently. 😢😢
I just heard this sound 2 days ago in Henry County Indiana from across a little fishing lake. It was crazy loud, and was around 4:30pm on August 16, 2023. So definitely not dark or near sundown! I didn't know they had made their way that far north in Indiana. I saw one 4 years ago crossing a road near a south-central state park with a lake. That was my 1st indication they were even in Indiana. So cool, Im a feline fan of all types.
I heard them a couple of weeks ago in the front yard. At the time I didn’t know what it was I thought it was a baby but it was 3am. Scared the hell out of me 😳
I have a bobcat on my property here in marlton West Virginia. Now. I've seen him on the game camera and I've heard this same call at night just as it gets dark.
I commented this earlier on this thread, but just wanted to say I went up the nearest tree. I had no idea I could do that. Found out later they are not interested in humans.
Heard what sounds exactly like this in Middle Tennessee this morning. Except there was a couple more seconds between the calls, it wasn't that fast. Sounded just like it though. Just slower and a little longer with the noises.
Was a Trapper for 30 yrs, if this is in Feb shes calling for a Male. Most common sound they make is a Meow. Heard two of them scrapping one time but didn't ever see them. You should hear two Mink fighting if you want to hear something weird.
are their calls always this fast? I heard something similar but more time between the call. couldn't tell if it was an owl or what. I thought it was some kind of prey 'dying'.
I have one that comes around and it sounds the same but only calls a lot less frequently. Like I’ll hear one “bark-like” sound once a minute or so. It’s definitely a bobcat though.

No, I didn't place scent there, and this bobcat called for about a mile along this heavily used wildlife trail. The camera was pointed at a bear-marking tree, and after I placed the cam, it captured a mountain lion marking there. So, there was a lot of natural scent in that spot. But, my guess is that the bobcat lost her kittens somehow, and that's why she was calling. It went on for about 2 weeks and then ceased.
