Hurricane Matthew: Report on evacuation on I-16

To assist with evacuations, Georgia State Patrol is closing Interstate 16 to eastbound traffic, allowing both sides of the highway to carry traffic west, away from the Georgia coast.

I remember this event when Savannah Georgia evacuated from the coastal areas. My family came to my house in Savannah Georgia to evacuate me from the coastal areas of Chatham County Georgia.

If residents are warned of the danger and are told they need to evacuate and they choose to stay put I think they have every right to do so. HOWEVER, I do not think any rescue worker or medical personnel or firemen or policemen should have to risk their lives to go get them when they finally recognize the danger. My humble opinion.
