Honestly, this is Mark's best performance. In the animated series, he had to hold back, because there were kids watching. But now, he can cut loose and show his true talent as the Joker.
"It will end where it began." - Batman Arkham City near the outline of Thomas and Martha Wayne's bodies, written on a piece of paper next to some flowers. They weren't talking about Bruce and the movie theater....they were talking about Arkham.....Arkham Asylum, the first game.

It's starting to look like Rocksteady's Arkham Trilogy is strikingly similar to The Dark Knight cinematic trilogy in terms of execution. Arkham Asylum reinvigorated the medium of Batman video games, like how Batman Begins reinvigorated the batman film medium. Arkham City is quite possibly the definitive Batman video game, as The Dark Knight is considered by many to be the definitive Batman film. Arkham Knight is a good game and a pretty satisfying conclusion, but also pretty flawed, same with how Dark Knight Rises turned out.
Your a idiot Ben Affleck is the best batman ever Christian bale is nothing like batman he was just in good movies doesn't mean his character was good you be yapping your loose lips sinking ships ass nigga
justinjacques766 Meh, a lot of things were done better in Arkham Knight, but at least I got more closure with the ending of The Dark Knight Rises. I loved the majority of Arkham Knight, but it was far from perfection. Not saying your expectations should be perfection, but I'm left scratching my head as to how the team that made this game also made Arkham City, which expertly avoided the mistakes that this game made (most boss battles in this game were unchallenging and disappointing, and there were only a few to begin with. Arkham City had multiple boss battles, and most of which were awesome. Gameplay in Arkham Knight got extremely repetitive halfway through the game, some of the side missions in Arkham Knight were disapointingly short (hush and man-Bat) and the ending wasn't executed as well as it could have been. Look, there were a lot of things I loved about Arkham Knight, and overall, I did have fun playing it. But it was far from being "Dark Knight Rises done right" as both properties made a lot of mistakes.
***** There is no next. Arkham is over. As for the Dark Knight Rises done right thing that is bull. They both have pretty much the same ending. the only difference is that in Rises Bruce fakes his death and in Knight he actually dies. PS. Don't argue that he fakes his death. i've watched the scene several times. You can clearly see him in the building a split second before it blows, and if there is no shot of him to confirm that he is alive he is not alive.
In arkham asylum killer croc rips his face off. You can hear the thugs in the game talk about it. They say croc ripped his face off and doctors couldn't do anything. They why he doesn't blink, he has no eyelids.
Let's face it: beating the Joker to a bloody pulp until he was nothing but a stain on Batman's knuckles was fucking satisfying, but what made it absolutely priceless? Kevin Conroy saying his iconic quote: "I am Vengeance! I am the Night!! I. AM. BATMAN!!"
How are people going to forget Joker? He brought Gotham to its knees on numerous occasions and has killed thousands of people. He will be remembered as the most dangerous villain the city has seen.
Mark Hamill said "Arkham City" was going to be his last performance as The Joker. Then he returns for Arkham Knight. The Joker played one on us... And this time, it went beyond the game and into the fourth wall.
So let me get this straight Batman let himself get poisoned so he can face his fear of turning into the Joker, then Crane will be surprised that Bruce isnt scared (WHEN JOKER IS IN CONTROL) and inject him again with that fear serum resulting in the Joker facing his fear of being forgoten which allowed Batman to take control over himself and thus overcoming his own fear and the joker disease, which had NO CURE! Very twisted i must say.
Martin Daskalov Somehow I doubt that was all planned by Batman, I mean how would he know and, when Joker is gone, how would he free himself? That Jason appeared was luck.
Martin Daskalov He didn't let crane poison him. He was shackled. He couldn't have stopped crane if he wanted too. And he didn't overcome the Joker blood disease

ValenKnight I'm actually watching this because when I played through it it lagged slightly on the cutscene, making me miss the bit where Jason shot Scarecrow. I assumed that that's what happened anyways but. I thought maybe there would be more explanation as to what the heck was up with Jason after that? Oh well. x3
14:53 Just realized Scarecrow holding a gun to Batman's head almost perfectly parallels his comic origin (Crane was a teacher of psychology who was fired for holding a gun to his students' heads to make them feel fear). Nice call back, Rocksteady!
The Gotham Knight it is sad but now no mare batman games….every now knows who bat man is…. thank you Rocksteady for giving us this wonderful and final game of batman….and may gotham have the savior like it always had at the beginning the only savior it trusted Batman! *salutes*
Maybe it shouldn't bother me so much, but moments like these feel like game developers forgetting games are supposed to be... Well... Games. This conclusion is interactive, sure, but this felt like a waste of a perfectly good time to settle things between Batman and Joker. No Titan, no Clayface, but the Joker hallucination acting as a real, proper final boss. Wielding insane weapons, cracking morbid humor, Batman knocking him down again and again but he just keeps getting back up because it's a nightmare. This just feels... Hollow.
MJTRadio Finally. I thought I was the last person left expecting a final boss fight to involve, well...a boss. Your idea is ten times more interesting than this lame movie.
Brick Boom Man, I'm saying this because I love Batman. I say this as a guy who bought all 52 issues of Batman Eternal the day they dropped. I talk as a guy who loves Batman's sidekicks, his villains, his duality, everything. This isn't even a bad Batman game. It's just a lacking Batman finale game.
So instead of a deeply profound ending delving into both the psyche of Batman and Joker and their relationship, you'd rather have had a big dumb boss fight like at the end of Asylum? K
Elliot Scott Dating Honestly, just play the game. It's a great game I promise. You'll understand it deeper if you just play the game. I'm not saying this like an arse-hole. I just think it would be better if you did play it.
Some how I think this scene is like a hidden message from Mark Hamill telling his fans it's time to move on that this will be the last time he will be the Joker
The Arkham Knight was so disapointing, whining all the time and boring. His concept is interesting, a villain who fought Batman with the same super power (money). But overall he was bad executed in this game. It was interesting the individual battles of him against the batmobile, but that final boss "fight" with him playing the sniper was just silly. I expected some gigantic (literally) battle against scarecrown. Imagine those crazy battles of the Arkham Asylum with the full potential of the nextgen tech, Batman and Joker having to cooperate to defeat scarecrown, then you can have that exact same scene of Joker's mayhem (great scene by the way, shame that they cut off the blood). Everything plays nicelly on this game, but the lack of boss fights was a great concern.
Agreed 100%.The arkham knight's design and the concept of him being someone who knows everything about Batman kept me thrilled. But his final reveal was disappointing. The concept of Batman going against Scarecrow like Arkham Asylum with next gen tech is a great idea too! Those hallucinations were my favorite part of that game.
I love this "Without fear life is meaningless" line It show that fear is a feeling like another that makes a human an actual human But here in *That specific moment* there is no human no life just the legend the dark knight as his true form and it's terrifying Also there is no this "love and joy overcome fear" no this feelings does not exist here because if Batman doesn't feel fear he doesn't feel love as well because these feelings he just locked them away and get rid of it Bruce battles his fear by himself *as* the Batman and once there is no feelings left Bruce knows that he is already dead and only remains Batman that's why he decide to activate the Knightfall protocol to totally let Bruce Wayne completely die That's my interpretation
Xeonex I didn't make a big deal out of it. I just pointed out that he isn't innocent, like you claimed, a d when you tried to pretend that you meant something else I quoted you and now you can't handle the fact that you were incorrect.
monkeyquest45 I hear you, but they can surely make ONE game where the other villains can take the spotlight alone. My problem is, they say Arkham Origins is gonna star black mask and it turns out to be the Joker in disguise. It felt like a cop out to me. Then they say Joker dies and Arkham Knight will star the Scarecrow. Guess what? The Joker comes back. I just think Batman has a great rogues gallery and they don't need to use the Joker in EVERY game as a safety net. Especially if you're gonna say that the Joker is dead, either stick to your guns or just don't make that promise. Then I won't have those expectations in the first place, you know? That's just my opinion.
Don't get me wrong, this ending is beautiful but for me it was too cinematic. Once Batman got rid of the Joker and Scarecrow injected him once more, you should have an actual showdown with Scarecrow, perhaps a nostalgic nightmare mission from Asylum. Once you complete this and say 'I'm not Afraid Crane' you smash X to inject Scarecrow with his own toxin, you then become an Over Powered frightening bat to take him out as he screams in horror. This would give the game a satisfying and more interactive end.
Maybe, but haven't the games always been more cinematic? Plus I'm kinda glad that they didn't make the ending a boss fight. They usually aren't very good at making them. (Titan Joker in Asylum was painfully easy and repetitive. Boss Battles that rely on the same pattern over and over again work well in less serious games like Crash Bandicoot. But they make characters like Joker an idiot if they fall for the same trick to fight them. It's hard to take them seriously. The Clayface boss fight in City wasn't very good either. Kinda dragged on. It also relied on patterns.
Gabriel Escudero Well I get that the bosses were never a strong suit but that's not what I wanted either. I mean one final nightmare mission would suffice as an ending wouldn't it?
That would have been interesting, I agree on that, but then I would feel you would just get an endless complaining like "Ah these nightmare missions are terrible compared to asylum." It would have to be a completely new kind of nightmare mission.
Someone correct me if I'm wrong or tell me if I'm right bc I'm a bit confused. Wayne's biggest fear was becoming joker, so when scarecrow gave him the toxin, he basically "became" joker. But when "joker" showed that he wasn't scared, scarecrow gave him more toxin which caused the "joker" to face his biggest fear, ultimately causing Bruce's biggest fear to be locked up and gone forever, making him not scared of anything. Am I right???
It all depends on interpretation. The way I view is that, when Joker takes over Bruce and gets injected with fear toxin afterwards, he becomes afraid not of being locked up, but of the only person capable of locking him up - Batman. In the eyes of the Joker and all other thugs, Batman is a fearless creature, who strikes fear in the hearts of criminals. To them, Batman is not a man - he is a myth. And so Batman took over Joker and ultimately, Bruce Wayne. Which is why Batman is now completely fearless. Because he no longer has his weak side - Bruce Wayne.
Fionngaming Murphy It's suppose to be the last one from Rocksteady, but I'm sure they'll continue the series through a different studio, possibly the studio who made Origins (WB Montreal)
Gamer's Little Playground most probably WB Montreal, since we all know it won't be Iron Galaxy Studios for sure - given how epically they have screwed up the PC version of Arkham Knight
Gamer's Little Playground hopefully they don't do a shitty job with any others, Origins is a good game but there is obvious lag when gliding and it freezes my console at times. There shouldn't be lag at all on a console at least that obvious anyway.
First I laughed, then I cried, then became that "I'm Batman" and I laughed so hard and then I cried more and more and more when Joker said "I need you" Why are they doing this to me? My poor Joker ;-;
I really liked how that mental struggle ended. Showing that while the Joker needs Batman, it's definitely not vice versa, despite how it may seem sometimes. Really nice ending for the series.
I love how batman, when he gets the joker in a chokehold, declares how he is vengeance, he is the night, and that he is the batman, in similar fashion to how the trailer for the game stated "be vengeance, be the night, become the batman"
"No, Bruce! Don't leave me! Please..." I almost feel bad for Joker. And this is the Bruce Wayne that i always wanted to see in the movies. Very cool characterization.
I love how the subtitles still refer to him as Batman even when he's unmasked as Bruce Wayne. If you really think about it, the Bruce Wayne identity is the real mask.
I wish they would have explained what happened to Scarecrow to make him look so different in this game. Don't get me wrong, I Love the new look, but they never explained why he's so broken (his legs both have braces) or why his eyes are so callused and his teeth missing. Killer Croc?
@@Major5x yeah it all happened in the Batman Arkham Asylum game, scarecrow was snatched by croc in crocs cell/liar. At the very end of that game you can see a titan crate in the water and either croc, bane or scarecrows hand will latch on to it (hinting that they will return again later in the series)
Joker: guys! guys! guys! It's great to see you........... Me: it's great to see you too joker Joker: ........it's been a devil of a time tracking you down!!!!!! >:) Me: wait WUT????? *BANG BANG*
One more thing I want to mention which makes this ending of unmasking of Batman reversible in future games. You remember how you beat up Hush who did plastic surgery on himself to look like Bruce Wayne? Batman didn't give him to authorities and just locked him up in his dungeon somewhere. He is basically him in appearance. He can always let him out and say that Hush impersonated him as Batman. Public will believe it because batman is already a disguise and Hush is crazy to begin with. Lol
Didn't Joker died? Then what is this? They said The Joker is clearly dead, Mark Hamill said he's retired and Arkham City was last game he gave voice of The Joker. Now i'm really confused...
Speedy Zooba It was something about Jokers infected blood being sent to hospitals and 5 got infected by joker, 1 Girl, 2 Male Adults, 1 Old Man, and 1 Batman.
***** Yup Batman was 1 of the 5 affected by the Blood. The Fear Toxin overloaded him of his fear of being overtaken by the Joker blood, in the end batman took his body back and locked joker up deep in his mind.
One thing I dont undersatnd.... Why does the scarecrow look like that? Like he has a bag face and underneath is only his flesh and skull... And what are those 2 cylindric things coming out of his cheeks?
Matthew Feagins Yes, and to adress the second question: It's just a cool design. Scarecrow obviously wears a gasmask that looks like a bag, so he can look like his namesake. So those "cylindric things" are filters, like on a gas mask.
Human Toy Freddy The Nerdy Bear i guess but it still bugs me :/ i get hes slowly loosing himself the more the mutation sets in but common at least keep some consistency. In Origin i get why he looked like that compared to his arkam asylum look since it was an earlier version of him, but here he looks just strange.
Human Toy Freddy The Nerdy Bear prob haha, but besides that he looks like hes becoming more fish then croc, i mean look at his shoulder. Its like a coral reef is growing on it.
Mike T This forums post explains the ending very well community.wbgames.com/t5/Spoiler-Zone/Ending-Explained-with-the-Burning-Batman/m-p/580132#U580132
***** Bruce can't just "retire" because people would continue to target him and those who are close to him. He had to either die or make it look as if he died.
Nic Tessier Well the last one made by Rocksteady. I'm sure Warner Brothers will get other studios to continue the series, but Rocksteady is moving on to other things
I will miss Rocksteady but I'm fine with more Batman and I will admit Arkham Origins wasn't that bad for me. I didn't experience any glitches or anything :(

And the boss fights they did have were largely disappointing. Talk about a disrespect to deathstroke's character.
WAY too many tank fights.
The boss fights and story sucked, too much batmobile, and repetitive sidequests
In the end batman should've said "You want something to fear scarecrow? FEAR ME!"
So the arkham knight aka Jason Todd aka red hood helped Bruce. I like that 😊
aka ex robin
I love this "Without fear life is meaningless" line
It show that fear is a feeling like another that makes a human an actual human
But here in *That specific moment* there is no human no life just the legend the dark knight as his true form and it's terrifying
Also there is no this "love and joy overcome fear" no this feelings does not exist here because if Batman doesn't feel fear he doesn't feel love as well because these feelings he just locked them away and get rid of it
Bruce battles his fear by himself *as* the Batman and once there is no feelings left Bruce knows that he is already dead and only remains Batman that's why he decide to activate the Knightfall protocol to totally let Bruce Wayne completely die
That's my interpretation
"Croc, old boy, you might want to duck!" 😂😂😂
lol at all the people who watched the ending without looking at any other parts
?? jokur is alive? i thouht he waz ded wut tha fuk
Ho'z da Akam Niht, guyz? I to lzy 2 chk of misef! 2 lzy 2 ply da gme!
Can both of you please speak English
Although I "sort of" hate Joker, I really felt bad for him in this. He was so innocent at the end, and so afraid...
He deserved it
Chris Sixx I never said he WAS innocent. I just said he looked so sad, that he looked a bit innocent.
Xeonex Dude, you straight up said "He was so innocent at the end"
+Chris Sixx Dude, it's a video game. Stop making a big deal out of him "Killing" other virtual characters.
Xeonex I didn't make a big deal out of it. I just pointed out that he isn't innocent, like you claimed, a d when you tried to pretend that you meant something else I quoted you and now you can't handle the fact that you were incorrect.
They find SOME way to put joker into EVERY arkham game, don't they? I like him but enough already.
stfu
Brick Boom No.
he's the most important villian... joker made batman and batman made joker
monkeyquest45 I hear you, but they can surely make ONE game where the other villains can take the spotlight alone.
Joker wasn't in the spotlight in this game at ALL buddy.
I really like how the Scarecrow's toxins are basically what saves Bruce from the Joker's influence
Well this part isn't exactly the end of the game.
Gabriel Escudero I know and I am almost on my way to completion, but my point still stands, this is way too cinematic for a conclusion to a franchise.
I think the events in this video are some of the best Batman plot points ever
Also,
"I'm not going to kill you"

-Scarecrow 2015
Someone correct me if I'm wrong or tell me if I'm right bc I'm a bit confused. Wayne's biggest fear was becoming joker, so when scarecrow gave him the toxin, he basically "became" joker. But when "joker" showed that he wasn't scared, scarecrow gave him more toxin which caused the "joker" to face his biggest fear, ultimately causing Bruce's biggest fear to be locked up and gone forever, making him not scared of anything. Am I right???
Sir Swagger 420 hahahahahahah I love my man! but not in that way 😐
It all depends on interpretation.
I love when Batman says his famous line "I am vengeance I am the night I am Batman" and when joker begs Batman not to lock him up
Is this the last bat man game
Fionngaming Murphy It's suppose to be the last one from Rocksteady, but I'm sure they'll continue the series through a different studio, possibly the studio who made Origins (WB Montreal)
Gamer's Little Playground most probably WB Montreal, since we all know it won't be Iron Galaxy Studios for sure - given how epically they have screwed up the PC version of Arkham Knight
derek400004 haaaaaaaaaaaa
Gamer's Little Playground hopefully they don't do a shitty job with any others, Origins is a good game but there is obvious lag when gliding and it freezes my console at times. There shouldn't be lag at all on a console at least that obvious anyway.
The only way I can see them making a good sequel to this is to go the batman beyond route. All the new villans, gadgets ect would be really cool.
Kinda sad when Joker says "I need you" 13:54 . Joker loves Batman :(
😢
First I laughed, then I cried, then became that "I'm Batman" and I laughed so hard and then I cried more and more and more when Joker said "I need you"
Why are they doing this to me? My poor Joker ;-;
Batman and joker will always be my favorite
I really liked how that mental struggle ended. Showing that while the Joker needs Batman, it's definitely not vice versa, despite how it may seem sometimes. Really nice ending for the series.
I love how batman, when he gets the joker in a chokehold, declares how he is vengeance, he is the night, and that he is the batman, in similar fashion to how the trailer for the game stated "be vengeance, be the night, become the batman"
Matthew Axelson It's a reference to the animated series from the 90's
this ending is amazing, metaphors and all. I can't help but love it. it's still Batman all the same.
I already miss you, Kevin Conroy
So,the last battle and ending is a hallucination sequence and cutscene? At least there was a fight at the end of AC
"No, Bruce! Don't leave me! Please..."
I almost feel bad for Joker.
And this is the Bruce Wayne that i always wanted to see in the movies. Very cool characterization.
At this moment scarecrow knew he fucked up
I love how the subtitles still refer to him as Batman even when he's unmasked as Bruce Wayne. If you really think about it, the Bruce Wayne identity is the real mask.
Sorry Joker.
I can't be the only one who almost cried at about 13:43 :(
I wish they would have explained what happened to Scarecrow to make him look so different in this game. Don't get me wrong, I Love the new look, but they never explained why he's so broken (his legs both have braces) or why his eyes are so callused and his teeth missing. Killer Croc?
yes it was because killer croc
thats why he wanted to get to batman
@@brittanybrittany1 because that now wasn't there to save him
That clears it up👍🏾 preciate it
@@Major5x yeah it all happened in the Batman Arkham Asylum game, scarecrow was snatched by croc in crocs cell/liar. At the very end of that game you can see a titan crate in the water and either croc, bane or scarecrows hand will latch on to it (hinting that they will return again later in the series)
Kevin Conroy and Mark Hamill are the best Batman and joker
11:32 thumbs up if you know which game they took this from
TourDent Can't be Bioshock
yasmany navas nope
Saints row :D ...... Jk
TourDent condemned, the mannequin scene :)
mrej six Fuck that shiiiiiiiit
As many say, "it ends where it all started".
Joker: guys! guys! guys! It's great to see you...........
Me: it's great to see you too joker
Joker: ........it's been a devil of a time tracking you down!!!!!! >:)
Me: wait WUT?????
Speedy Zooba What about guy who is The Joker aka his clone? He killed himself.
Speedy Zooba Also source of Mark Hamill retired of The Joker voice actor comicsalliance.com/mark-hamill-retires-the-joker-arkham-city/
Speedy Zooba This. He uploaded it, i forgot name of guy where Harley did clone or whatevs. It's still inside.
It's really weird to hear The Joker say Bruce and Alfred lol
One thing I dont undersatnd.... Why does the scarecrow look like that? Like he has a bag face and underneath is only his flesh and skull... And what are those 2 cylindric things coming out of his cheeks?
His face is deformed because in B:AA he was attacked by Killer Croc
Matthew Feagins Yes, and to adress the second question: It's just a cool design. Scarecrow obviously wears a gasmask that looks like a bag, so he can look like his namesake.
So those "cylindric things" are filters, like on a gas mask.
iWillWakeYouUp Yes they are.
"I'm done taking orders from you...Heisenberg!"
This is the first time that the villain won because gotham knows who batman is and that's all what scarecrow wanted, to expose him
James Sinclair which seems to be one of the games flaw. what do u think?
I love it when he says I am batman that means he has overcome Bruce Wayne and truly become as they call the "Batman"
Absolutely incredible 👍🏻
Am I the only one that feels bad for the joker?
get ready for the encore! I love that line so much
Mark Hamill as the Joker :) I thought he'd never do it again.
60 hours of gameplay, with a story in a 12 hour time period. It's not even breakfast yet.
That last scene kinda looked like the Batman Beyond suit
Thank you rocksteady for giving us a great game series 2009-2015
did anyone else feel a little bad about Scarecrow when he was screaming?
No he terrorized Gotham and wanted to destroy everything
A little bit
Cubed Chespin it was funny all u here is ahhhhhhhhh what's wrong crow scared
Cubed Chespin He deserved it
It was funny how he yelled btw I love batman games I wish they can make more of them reply on this one cubed
They should seriously do a movie on these
what the hell happened to killer croc? he looks more like a fish thing then the cool monster we saw in asylum.
His body is always changing.
I guess it's because he's slowly becoming more animal,I think it would be a while before he starts walking on all fours.
Human Toy Freddy The Nerdy Bear prob haha, but besides that he looks like hes becoming more fish then croc, i mean look at his shoulder. Its like a coral reef is growing on it.
Maybe it's to swim better?
I just love how Joker goes out shouting when hes not supposed too, like he doesnt even fear anything.
Where is the real ending?
Eat Sandviches Get Ze Bitcheses Settle down, child.
Yes, this is the internet we're using to communicate! What an astute observation, kiddo. ;D
***** do the azreal side mission. then you will see why they didnt go that way..
I love how people are saying in the comments, "Wait, I'm confused, someone explain?" If you played the game you would understand. haha
Is it supposed to be the last batman game ever ?
Nic Tessier Well the last one made by Rocksteady. I'm sure Warner Brothers will get other studios to continue the series, but Rocksteady is moving on to other things
Probably the last one in the current continuity.
I will miss Rocksteady but I'm fine with more Batman and I will admit Arkham Origins wasn't that bad for me. I didn't experience any glitches or anything :(
BobtheGamer100 Batman Beyond Arkham ???
Oh shit good idea bruh 👆
The ending means:
1.Set up for paid DLC
2.set up for new game
So... Batman's part Weeping Angel?
That...explains quite a bit actually
What???
how he moves so quick when you arent looking. :p
If I were the joker I'd call the tank at 4:50 "The Punchline"
