Well to be fair, majority of those who thought it was the Mickey Mouse dance haven't read the manga (or that specific part of the manga). Also agree, the Mickey Mouse dance was funnier.

Kobeni's dance is probably the song "Butterfly" recorded in the game machine "Dance Dance Revolution", Mickey at Tokyo Disneyland seems to have more similar choreography...
It’s a dance from “モーニング娘” which OP song is referencing from. Original song is from 1997 which Denji’s time period and Morning Musume was popular idle group at the time. Name of the song is “そうだ!we’re alive” which the OP song borrows the lyric of “努力、未来、a beautiful star”
It's definitely not from mickey mouse clubhouse. The intro is probably made in japan and I'm 200% sure they dont even know wtf mickey mouse clubhouse is over there.
I think it could be both, having it be Mickey is hilarious and I wouldnt put it past Fujimoto at all, but Kobeni dance also makes alot of sense. I wonder if we'll get the full manga in 12 eps (not likley from our current pacing, so maybe 2 seasons), but when it's time to *VANCE* I am so exited to see what song she is weeping to.
I'm 100% sure it reminds me of something else but I can't put my finger on what exactly. It looks so much like one of those "teens special greetings" kind of things? like the you bump, clap, high five on the back, bump your shoes etc.
Everything does not deserve to be judged, but it can be criticized with logic and facts. For example: "the lower amount of melanine on your white skin won't protect you from the sun as the same way of a human with more melanin." Or "Your dark skin can be used to hide in the darkness so you'll sneak in first"
Doesnt matter, u cant flex on them bcs saying its kobeni dance it would spoil a lot. Imagine them asking and why is she dancing, and ur like unable to say it cuz it would spoil them

The thing that keeps catching my eye with their dance is how they are tapping the inside of their feet together on alternating sides. I'm no dance expert, but I could have sworn there was a kind of dance that involved both dancers kicking their leg out, tapping them together and then switching sides, all while twisting your upper body to maintain balance/just add flair to the dance.
I get what you mean, but Mickey crossed his foot inward while also swinging his arms and torso the opposite direction if the foot being kicked, just like Power and Denji here, while Daisy, Donald, Goofy and Minnie did the kick inward, as you said. Edit: turns out, it's neither. Kenshi Yonozu, the anime composer, has gone on the record to mention that the Power and Denji dance comes from a Morning Musume choreography 😅
