Eliott Giles did the road mile world record 3:51 the other week in the Streakfly 2. Sounds like be good for my faster plods :) Vaporfly still my shoe of choice for racing and faster stuff so be interesting to see what they have done to it. I had to "adapt" the rather generous upper in the VF3 but now fits me well. Given a choice probably would still go for the VF1 however but had some good runs and races in the VF3. Zoom Fly 6 - well arguably two of the worse for me shoes I have bought in recent years were the 3 and 5 so does not need to be that great to be "better" LOL. Not sure about the air pods and weight. Vomero 17 and Pegasus 41 are near identical weights for me. For easier days don't really mind such shoes not having the weight of racing shoes because they aren't and nor do I try to use them for that.
Vaporfly 3 is still a good shoe for race day, especially if you can find it on a discount. The leaked pic of the VF 4 looks almost like an Alphafly without Air. I guess that makes sense but I really liked the unique design of the VF 3.
Discounts are going to be hard to come by in years to come, find that a lot of brands are looking at producing lower stock so that their modes aren’t ending up reduced which is a really crappy thing for us consumers.
When you pick up your iPad to look for prospective replacements for your zoomfly 5 (why I’ve kinda liked to be fair) … and you see Ed has dropped a Nike video! Delighted.
Alpha/Vapor/Streakfly as raceday shoes plus zoom fly and vomero as training shoes is all you need! I can't wait to upgrade my rotation with these new shoes :D
All the track legal trainers seem to have disappeared in the past few years. The rules changing from 25mm to 20mm hasn't helped. It's bouillabaisse mon ami, as they say in France.
VF4 and Streakfly 2 (SF2) has AF3 vibes in the heel design. I hope the plate gives SF1 a direction to the bounce of the foam. I found SF1 a bit wild even for a low stack shoe.
Nike definitely need some half decent alternatives to the VF and AF. Love mine. They just need some good daily trainers. The new Zoom Fly 6 looks like a great replacement.
I hope the new V4 is closer in feel to the VF2, I struggled to get a pair and ended up with Metaspeed edge+ it seems my glory days of 8mm drop shoes that feel like you’re been throw forward are gone.
My Nike has fallen - from the top they now seem to be mish mashing with tweaks of the AF3. They need to blow up the system and just have a few core shoes for each necessity and not "blend" everything together into one type of shoe with different changes here and there. Yes it's the others that have caught up and maybe have lapped them (no pun intended) but as we're seeing with other shoe makers, there's just too much out there with just subtle tweaks or versioning.
I just bought the Clifton 9 and I am not a very fast runner but it seems to be very comfortable for me. I am looking for something that will help propel me a bit more. I am mostly running on the treadmill. Would you recommend a plated shoe or no? I need something flat without the arch becasue even something as comfy as the Infinity run 4’s would hurt after a few kms and i’d have to slow down. I am preparing for a half marathon around March and I recenlty started running again. I am almost 40 and i have arthritis so comfort is key. Any recos with a flat sole like the clifton 9? plated or not? what should I try? Dind’t like the Bondi 8 very much.
VERY interested in the streakfly 2, I've seen some people claiming that it's actually lost a tiny bit of weight as compared to the v1... Hopefully we find out soon
Hi Ed! Are you gonna review the new balance v5s? I've got 400 miles on my v4s 😅 I've also asked Kofuzi as well but he won't buy any to review which is understandable. Two best shoe reviewers on RUclips imo.
Nike are fortunate that ZoomX is still an excellent foam. They still have great top tier running shoes despite the heavy competition. I'd like them to get a new foam now that is lighter but similarly responsive. If they can do that and develop a lightweight racer like the Adios Pro Evo I think this will be very good for them.
Love that the Vaporfly has become that shoe that seems everyone loves to hate. It’s still absolutely brilliant & seems to be the shoe that all others are measured against.
The Vomero looks strange…like a Hoka, then why not a Hoka, since Hoka has been innovating this 2024. The Zoomfly I think is arriving too late to the new foams celebration. Vaporfly looks interesting
What is the point of the ZF and VF now? They're basically the same shoe. Yes, there are differences, but they seem to be pushing the ZF into the VF space.
@@TheSiameseDreamer it will be heavier and simply not as much a race shoe as the VF. But many people like the zoom fly as it’s cheaper and more durable
I suppose/hope Nike is working on their second tier foam (like how Asics has ff blast+ and Saucony has pwrrun+)! ReactX is not doing it for them... they need to get some good daily trainers out there to get back in the game! At the moment their running shoe lineup is like a two chord song!
Mmmm... Fontaines! Starburster is alright though, isn't it? Just discovered the Skinner Boys. Lovin' it. A mix between old Arctic Monkeys and D&B. On-topic:how come that with every Nike non-racing shoe I just think: mehh, skip!
It always fascinates me how people can have vastly different opinions of our speed slippers. I really enjoy running in the Zoom Fly 5. I even ran a half marathon in it a couple of years ago and it worked very well for me. I imagine the fact that I am a good 30kg heavier than most runners has something to do with it. Anyway, I'm mostly posting this to help with the algorithm. It's a fickle mistress for sure.
@@EDDBUDwhat fr? There’s so much choice, that I often throw my arms up and buy nothing. Shoes are so expensive now that the risk of picking up a pair that doesn’t “work” only grows! I find a company with awful stock levels (ASICS 👀) also makes me hesitant to buy when they briefly come back, as I don’t want to feel like I’m rewarding or showing them that their poor stock strategy works 😂 For the algorithm!

VF3 didn't fit my foot, tried on 3 different sizes. Strange because normally Nikes fit my feet perfectly, even the Peg 37.

Not a patch on the old panam.
They need to be competitively priced, the competition from adidas, puma and saucony to name but a few is just too strong.

The more 5? Why not! 👍🏼👊
Is it me or are all these Nike supposed updates all merging into looking very similar? All of the updates shown have the AF3 sole shape now🧐
Same shoe. Different materials. Slightly. 🤣👍🏼
It’s called design language.
Does anyone have any idea if the Nike Free Run 5.0 are going to be relaunched?
Thanks.
Heard nothing on these yet
Streakfly looks interesting, the others, not bovvered! Top vid though Edd to the Bud.
Waiting for invincible 4 🏃 pass on those cheers ed
Great knowledge and instructive Edd. 👍👍
Glad you enjoyed it
That vomero looks very similar to the journey run.
A good information. Like to EDDBUD. Happy monday.
Thanks for tuning in!
dont forget Rivalfly 4
Dankeschön:) Looking forward to the Vomero and Streakfly. Have a nice evening :)
Thanks, you too!
New shoes are great and all but I'd be just as happy if they brought back the Tempo Next %, my favourite Nike shoe.
Perhaps we didn’t know what we had? Bring it back
I still run in my Fly 5, it's a really good shoe
any live streams?
Possibly tomorrow

They went for durability I think. But should of also kept a elite model going as you say with a softer foam
Nike top racing shoes always has great performance. Can’t wait till this comes out
Everything should "run" downstream from the Alphafly- in terms of design, tech and weight. Flagship product strategy.

To be honest I am more interested in finding the old Vapofly in a lower discounted price when the 4 drops. If I find the VF 2 or the OG, even better!
The 2 was superb. The v1 was amazing. Super light and still feels futuristic.
Hello again 🎉
What is the point of the ZF and VF now? They're basically the same shoe. Yes, there are differences, but they seem to be pushing the ZF into the VF space.
No the zoom fly has a different foam on the bottom section and potentially thicker upper and more rubber
@@EDDBUD but honestly, how much of a difference is that really? It's as near as makes no difference.
@@TheSiameseDreamer full zoomx is very different to half and half.
@EDDBUD but, if that's the only substantial difference, is it really worth the extra cost?
