I don't see anything steam cleaned and all the fire rings look intact. Maybe just coolant got in the cylinders when you pulled the head. Theres always something standing somewhere in the system.
No, not on that bank. If coolant was entering the combustion chamber. Whichever cylinder(s) the gasket failed would be clean... Basically, steam cleaned. If compression is low, check the valves and seats. Why do you think the head gasket might have failed?
Always get coolant in cylinders when pulling heads ...
Yeah but it doesn't clean the pistons 😂 3 are clean 4 is covered in carbon and has very little coolant in it.
Exactly steam would’ve had that all clean like brand spanking new

Nothing steam cleaned except the pistons
Looks more like you didn't drain the coolant before you took it apart
i worked for 15 years as a automotive machinist, and everytime a cracked chevy head came in we cheered and threw a party after work !
@@flacarpetracer 😂
Drain the coolant before you remove the head. Pull a lower head bolt to drain more coolant.
@@terrydunn5784 yea, rookie move on my part…I didn’t fully drain the block first 😀
There's always spillage coolant is non corrosive anyway
If it's easier for your given work situation just jack up the rear of the vehicle to get a bit more drain-down.
Nope, as afore mentioned, drain the coolant first
My first thought was they didn't drain the anti freeze first? But they sure did to put it on the engine stand, ÿes yes

Nah, what you have is a coolant leak.
No forgot to drain all the coolant
@@No1414body I did forget 🤦♂️
No. Bad rings. Those clean pistons shoow " ring wash ". Time for an overhaul
Looks fine just fill them full of carb cleaner for a day or so and button it back up😂
You tell us when you find out where it's leaking.
Nothing appears to be bad without closer inspection.
Does snow look blown
Cylinder 2 and 4 do look pretty clean so it’s possible, but it looks more like ring wash to me
You are closer than I am , you tell me
Aaaaaashhhhhhh yep
It's toast yes i hope the block isn't damaged though
@@awesomusmaximus3766 it doesn’t appear to be
@@KevinNadeau Cool
Yes most definitely
Check. Head. Also
@@John-vb1vs I’ll be putting on new heads 👍
In addition to...😮😢
The top of some of the pistons are very clean, so yeah, head gasket most definitely.
Who's the real idiot? The one asking this question or the one who had to think about it.
Show us the cylinder head & + gasket.
Not on the passenger side
No, bad heater core.
Nah should be good
Negative. Good seal.!
Roger 👍
Or you just did not get the block drained
Clean it. Up. Good and. Have it. Magne fluxed
Or warped head or crack in the block
I don't see anyplace it looks blown
@@montymartin4493 yea, I realized that I forgot to drain the block before I pulled the head
Doesn’t look like it from here
@@fsu3784 Yea, I didn’t drain that side of the block before pulling the head 😀

Naw...
It sure is rusty

Nope
Always remove the water plug on each side of the block
