    I use a pitcher for measured sugar. You can easily pour large amounts with no mess. Gonna try this with ghost peppers. Great video! Thank you!

    This recipe really appeals to me. More ingredients than the usual but it's going to be worth it. I'm going to use our Datil peppers ! Thanks (from a fellow Canadian)

      For every cup of juice use 3/4 cup of sugar. Here is the full recipe found at the Cansanity website cansanity.com/?page_id=3228

    Do you do anything with the leftover fruit after you stain the juice.

      I don't use the leftover fruit from the making of this preserve. But, when I use apples when making peach or strawberry preserves or jam we eat the leftover apple mash as applesauce.

    So you don't need certo in this recipe?

    • @cansanity
      @cansanity  Год назад

      That is correct, you do not need to add Certo or any other commercially produced pectin. The pectin comes from the apples.😀

    Thoughts on cayenne peppers in place of habanero

    • @cansanity
      @cansanity  2 года назад +1

      Because the cayenne pepper is red and has sweet heat not smoky and about 10 times hotter than a Jalapeno, it would be a good pepper to use in hot pepper jelly. Just note, that the habanero is a hotter pepper. So, if you want hot pepper jelly with a lot of heat, use the habanero.

    do you use Pectin?

    • @cansanity
      @cansanity  4 года назад +6

      I do not use any commercial boxed pectin for this recipe because it is not necessary. The apples provide the pectin for this jelly.
