    $1547AUD for skincare and makeup.... ouch. Most of the products would have been bought during sales/discounts/loyalty points etc but I just used the full price since I don't remember exactly what the discounts were. 1 or 2 products were also discontinued and I had to guess the price based on the price of the product that replaced it. And some of my products are sample/travel size rather than full size.

    I only buy affordable makeup and skincare, but I also use Tretinoin. I haven't bought any products for over 6 months now because I'm using up my backups and trying to use what I have. Even so, it comes to almost $300. But I don't wear makeup every day since I've retired, so it lasts me forever!!! I have to make myself discard expired makeup and replace it!
    My skincare find of the year is the Goodall Vitamin C serum (thanks Taylor Wynn!) Bought on Amazon!

    Let me just say, that in the past, before Mercari started to mess with the way the charge their fees, I bought 95% of my face products there. Many people sell brand new products at a reduced price. Now, my Nikkia Joy Cosmetics products, I always buy brand new from the site. For example, just in Sigma Makeup Brushes, I own $178 worth of new Sigma brushes, but I only spent $83.48 in total! That’s a savings of $94.52!! I’m a bargain shopper all the way! Also, Nikkia, do yourself and your viewers a favor and try out the DCYPHER Custom Created Foundation and Drops! Life changing experience for this makeup lover! I currently own 18-20 high end foundations, and then I tried DCYPHER, and I haven’t worn anything but since!! Love you!! ❤

    what about Cleanser & Exfoliation (if you still use the Dermologica daily micro-exfoliant)
    Daily routine (full face + setting spray as a 50 y/o oily gal): $289 or $344 depending if I use the Dermologica daily microexfoliant+TooFaced primer or Clinique Exfol Serum(toner)+Nyx/Revlon primer.
    I use the Dermologica - I discovered here at Nikkia's channel - at night, & often every other day as I found it + toner/exfoliating serum = too drying. But the only price-differences are that & the primer (Too Faced if skin is dry or Nyx Electrolyte/Revlon ColorStay Grip if typical skin).

    Probably around $350 USD. I’ve stopped paying for any watery skincare products without having any reverse issues. Instead I focus on using only 2 serums that have a wide range of benefits. Also instead of primer I only use a KBeauty essence 50+++sunscreen. I save my intense skincare for night. Your base will look much smoother without having multiple products underneath to compete with. Yes please a glam look 🩷

    • @VAwitch
      @VAwitch 2 месяца назад +1

      And that's the thing - if it works & you're not buying it monthly or so, it's not bad. I use Clinique as my basic daily skin care (cleanser, toner/serum, moisturizer); have been since despite selling AVON they stopped carrying anything to address oily skin.
      I'm 50, been doing the Clinique 3-step for at least 10 years, & the only anti-aging specific product I use is eye-cream - and the closest anyone guesses is early 40s (and rarely that). I get their stuff when on sale/use points.
      I also use Too Faced BTW Matte foundation, as it's one of the few that has color+undertone that works for my fair just-barely-cool skin that also mattifies worth a hoot.
      But other than my foundation & concealer (Tarte or TF BTW), all of my actual makeup = drugstore (Nyx, ColourPop, Milani, Essence).

    I think there’s a stigma that “drugstore” products aren’t as good as high end products just because of price difference. It’s not our fault, that’s literally the marketing pushed on us.
    I feel like the narrative of this video is giving ‘high-end is still best’ and I disagree with that message, affordable can be just as good if not better.
