Thanks Yudhi! Glad that you like it. :)
Very nice…!
Good job
you are my best teacher.
I want to draw like you too, but it doesn't work. Your drawings are concise, dense, and have a cinematic atmosphere.
Thanks so much for your comments and best of luck with your own work! :)
this is probably a stretch, but can you recommend a cheaper paper and charcoal that can give the same effect your drawings give? i can only afford printing papers.
Hi Ledah, I work on newsprint sometimes (it's quite inexpensive). Cheaper printer paper might work for you too, depending on the effect you're after and the kind of charcoal you're using. I find that it's usually smoother than I like and I prefer a little heavier surface. Really soft vine charcoal might be too active on a completely smooth paper as well, so you may have more luck with pencils because they tend to be more predictable across different surfaces. I would suggest experimenting a little and you may find a combination that works well for you. Best of luck!
@@JeffHainesArt i bought a willow, a brush, and a textured paper. i don't really know how to this, ill be trying other papers after watching your step-by-step to see if im missing something. thanks.
@@JeffHainesArt Update: I probably got too excited trying things out which only disappointed me since they all turned out ugly.
For now I'll be practicing only until 0:36, making out the general shapes and values. Thanks again for this video.
