👋Good morning, I hope you enjoy this full tour of Scania’s museum. Please don’t forget to give the video a like if you enjoyed it. My next video will drop on Christmas Day, looking forward to talking to you then, happy holidays👍
really good piece of history of scania!! greetings from Finland and happy christmas and coming new year :) *hyvää joulua ja tulevaa uutta vuotta in finnish ;) *
Thanks! In Italy until 1976 the road code obliged the trucks to have the right guide. After the law 313 of 1976, the obligation of the steering wheel is declared. So 141 Sicilian was purchased in 1976 or 1977 and as all the trucks of those years had the steering wheel to the right. 👋
Down here in Mexico Scannia is starting a quite agressive program of introduction of heavy trucks that can handle double trailers to handle loads of up to sixty tons. You can see them more and more competing with Kenworth and Freightliners. They have set the standards of automatized gear shifts. Incredible enough, all the american brands have little if not any of these in the mexican market. In the bus market, they are also very competitive, but more with Volvo and Mercedes Benz. I think it all come from Brazil and Argentina now. Expect to see more and more of them here.
Well Presented, in depth brief and enlightening. ive been a fan of Scania since i was a child as trucks & mechanics have long been my passion. As with other videos by Stavros, never boring, or unbiased but fair and direct, with the occasional humour (where I come from the steering is on the right side). I just cannot fault any of your videos. Keep up the good work.
Thank you for a wonderful visit to Scania in Södertälje. It was a good and educational visit. As a Swedish, I am ashamed because I have never been there. But now I have to visit it after your visit. Thank you for your wonderful movies and keep going.
Would love to see Scania come to Canada. That would be a great opportunity to bring back the T cab since most trucks here have the long hood designs. Plus they it would force the other manufactures to step up the design because quality have been dipping over the last few years.
FANTASTIC video as always Stavros!! I greatly regret not visiting this museum when I was in Stockholm, but after seeing this I will certainly go to Södertälje to see this museum for myself. Do stay safe!
Was waiting for this video from the Scania factory was great seeing all the old things that thay made. Would of loved if you could of going through all the trucks Scania made tho. Like all there best trucks down and up throughout the years. I enjoyed watching it all the same 👍
I don't drive trucks but would love to see Scanias come to Canada. I like KWs but these are much better in my opinion. Of course Paccar would never allow it. The only smart companies/driers are the ones who can keep an older rigs on the road here and still make it work. Nice to see a couple of buses in the museum. Would be nice if more factories did this and were so open. The one giving the tour knows his history quite good.
Interesting video (as usually) Stavros... I have a dream; to know this museum in Swedden. One day, who knows.... Thank you very much... Remembrances from Rio de Janeiro/Brazil - The most market Scania in the world. 👍👍👍 🤗🤗🤗
Fantastic video Stavros! Sweden must be incredible to visit. I wonder how many if any Saab cars they have at the Scania truck museum? Speaking of Saabs, they have their own museum located in Stockholm, I believe. Anyways, Happy Holidays!!⛄
Your vids just keep getting better and better, that was fantastic, I really enjoyed that, cant wait for the next one. Also I have a request, can you review a refuse truck. I know that may sound strange but I saw a brand new Dennis refuse truck the other day and it was like something out of a scifi movie, would definitely be interesting to see the specs on that.
Fantastic good stuf stavros LOVE SCANIAS AND MY OWN 1999 144 530 V8 SCANIA JUST ROCK OK EVERY ONE OUT THERE BE SAFE HAVE A GRATE CHRISTMAS AND A GRATE NEW YEAR AND WE WILL DO IT ALL AGAIN OK HI FROM BRIT MAN IN AUSTRAILIA 24.12.19 TAKE CARE SEEYOO
HP and $$$ are alike, double what you have or need, and it's still not enough! Scania are some awesome trucks, especially the one in the start! I'm from USA, and they are much nicer looking than what we have! I have little truck experience, but the Detroit 2stroke engines are probably the closest to being iconic as scania, they aren't as efficient, power is ??,/ but the sound is definitely there, you may only be going 20kph up a hill, but you sound like you are going over 200kph! Ha-ha, but from 2-53, to 8-71, 8-93, to 24-cylinders, over 100ci per! Huge engines, and not forgotten the common 6-71, and 6v-71, screaming machines!! Two stroke diesel engines are just cool! Especially turboed!! But not produced anymore! Scania v8's,They also sound cool I'd love to see scania trucks all over the US! With 730-770 HP I'm sure they could pull the hills and mountains, but here 10,12 & 15 gears is common,
The USA and Canadian auto markets are over-regulated and Scania's designs would probably never fit regulations no matter how safe the vehicle is hence why they haven't moved into any American markets yet...
@@wclifton968gameplaystutorials had Scania truck here in the 80' you're able to buy them, but early 90' just disappeared. It is shame. There is a Scania shop in Newark, New Jersey. still in operation.
@@hunzolee well Americans are more patriotic than us Europeans and the US Government prefers protectionist policies that help people stay poor because it gives them more control of the American people
Not many knows that Scania also sell separate Engines for boats, Excavators, Stone crushers, Gensets and much much more..., Pretty much everything that can have an engine of this size! Trucks have a V8 730hp engine while the V8 marine engine "almost" has twice as much. Also that orange engine is not a truck engine,Its an industrial engine, Just saying
My guess is that where you have length regulations like in Sweden you lose a lot of cargo space if the truck is longer than it has to be? 24 meter limit and in some cases 25.25meter. Also i think the demand was very low at the end of the production
Having driven trucks since 1979..... the Americans could take a lesson or two from European makers and vice versa.....European builders could take a lesson from American builds for lightweight and driver amenities...... but the bottom line is what they can make a profit from in their main target markets the rest of us have to make do with adaptations and find out what works for us verses cost for our profitability......... BTW Old School that I am the 142 intercooled 420hp before any of this computer controlled input is the bench mark for me....... maybe a143 500 but I never had one of them.......

Awesome, thanks a lot for this Stavros! :D I live in Sweden, but have never visited that museum. Have to plan a trip now!
It is nice to see people so happy about Scania. I am currently working for Scania in the Netherlands and still enjoy it.
141 for me
Are you working at zwolle Cinthia
@@gary96397 no, I work in Meppel. It's the paintshop from Scania. We send painted parts to the other factory's

Frits Driessen I asked but couldn’t get anyone to give me information on it. I’m guessing sometime in the second half of 2020 they will reveal it.
Added to my to do list. Nice!

I love how the grills of the 143 and 164 look like the office building
Here in Italy all the trucks sold until the 60s/70s had the right hand drive,i don't remember why,it is not only because it was sold in Sicily
