This is the greatest mod ever for me, I like to keep my San Andreas pretty vanilla but this just adds a new level of atmosphere to the game. It just makes the world feel fully alive.

Great mod. Not adding tons of crap but making the game like it should have always been. Finally I can fly over the Red County without trees spawning 2 inches from my cropduster.
11:11 personally i like lower draw distance closer to the og PS2 version a little more than that, because of colorful fog, i love the retro gradient vibes and colorful silhouettes of trees and buildings it's aesthetic
Wow thank you SO MUCH for doing this video. I've had the 2dfx mod and Silentpatch for a long time couldn't get them to work properly. At the time I couldn't find any walkthroughs that explained in a way I could understand. I didn't realize I could do so much with the config file. The main killer for me was crashing into "invisible" trees while flying around the country areas among other things. Your detailed step by step instructions for installing and using all the config settings for 2dfx (draw distance!) has finally made this game enjoyable for me again. I spent hours listening to this video and tinkering with the settings. I really can't thank you enough for this. :)
@@TJGM So I started having some occasional crashes during cutscenes and when entering a vehicle. It seems pretty random because I'll restart the game and (for example) restart the mission and the cutscenes etc will play out just fine. The crash seems to happen during camera transitions. For example I'll enter a vehicle and as the camera changes from the drivers side door to behind the car the game will crash. *sometimes* Did you experience that when you first started using the 2dfx mod?
@@TJGM I uninstalled and deleted the entire sa folder and am doing a clean install this time only using only the modloader and 2dfx. I started looking for draw distance stuff when I first saw the video below. I was thinking cleo was what I needed. Eh I've spent so much time reading readme's and watching RUclips videos about these mods I've lost track of why I kept cleo installed. Hopefully the game will run properly this time around. 11:18 I wonder how this 6km is calculated,there is no measurement system in the game.Yeah with that draw distance map looks kinda small and reasonable to be only 6km by 6km from above but i still wonder. Although in some games 6km feels gigantic due to different FOV and slow traveling,while in San Andreas you can pretty much see the entire map length in-game from CJ's perspective here 12:39

NOTES/UPDATES: 03/02/2023 -I've updated the configuration files with the following changes: -"TimedObjectDrawDistance" has been changed from a value of 6000 meters to a multiplier of 5 instead in the recommended and screenshot configurations. If the draw distance of timed objects is too high, the game will crash when closing the game, not really a big issue, but it can be annoying. Setting this to a multiplier of 5 will allow you to see all timed objects on the map at any distance, but should stop the crashing when exiting the game. -I've un-commented (the forward slashes at the start of settings that disables them) all of the settings that already had their value set to 0, as 0 disables the setting anyway, so commenting settings out wasn't necessary. -For the recommended and screenshot configurations, I've changed "GenericObjectsDrawDistance" to 0, as generic objects are already covered under "AllNormalObjectsDrawDistance", so it makes no difference. Great mod, but following your configuration settings resulted in many glitches with how the distant objects were loading in, and with textures around me (ex: fences disappearing and reappearing repeatedly). By default the festive lights are off so I'm thankful for your explanation, I enabled them and will try to remember to use the game around those dates to check the difference
I need a help, 2DFX won't work in my GTA, i tried installing with and without modloader but it doesn't works, Cleo and and other mods are working properly except 2DFX, any solutions? I have Windows 11

I made a CLEO script to increase grass draw distance years ago. However there seems to be a limit to how much grass can be on the screen, so it basically makes no difference. :(
@@TJGM have Limit Adjusters' authors tried to address this issue? I'm also having trouble getting DirectX 2 and SkyGfx to work together without glitches. SkyGfx fixes so many bad prelight issues, like some areas with are either too dark or too bright without it. And i have prelight fixes mod on. Enb accentuates those issues. But also combining it with ENB disables shadows, unless i turn some off Pipelines and PS2 Modulate. It also makes the game darker and adds more contrast. Now i've contacted SkyGfx's author and posted in official thread but nobody offered a solution. Have you tried combining them?
@@h.m.6423 As far as I know, no. Maybe fastman has with his limit adjuster, but I doubt it. Honestly ENB's and SkyGFX just don't play well with each other, I'd say it's more up to ENB developers to make sure it's compatible with SkyGFX's several options than the other way around. I don't believe there's another mod which enables dual pass unfortunately, so the only way is with SkyGFX.
@@TJGM you mentioned in the video that binaryipl.cs causes glitches but i did not experience any of them. I have applied Largeadress to game .exe and set streaming memory to 2048 MB in Mixsets, and i usually play 30 minute to 1 hour sessions, so i wonder why would it cause glitches in the first place? Maybe a memory leak?

@@vangezy6456 Original looks kinda garbage when compared to the definitive edition side by side, the only thing that GSG really messed up graphically are the models and even then that wasn't a huge issue and most have been fixed. The lighting, shadows and textures kinda carry DE to be an objectively graphically superior.

Excuse me, my game are lagging if I use this mod. For example, If CJ stands in front of his house and look at the direction of LS stadium, I can run my game at 60 FPS. But if I look at the downtown of LS, I just get barely 30 FPS. What a lag! My CPU is R5 5600 and GPU is RX 5700XT. So how can I fix this problem?

if you have a fairly mid ranged pc with an intel core i5 from at least five or three years ago and a GPU with similar performance to a GeForce GTX 970, Radeon RX 480 or GeForce GTX 1060 6 GB. I highly recommend this config; StaticShadowsDrawDistance = 200.0 MinDrawDistanceOnTheGround = 1500.0 TimedObjectsDrawDistance = 1000 LODObjectsDrawDistance = 1500.0 GenericObjectsDrawDistance = 200.0 AllNormalObjectsDrawDistance = 200.0 VegetationDrawDistance = 600.0 PreloadLODs = 1 This config is especially good for a modded GTA San Andreas (atleast in my experimentation) with HD texture packs like the ROSA one, and other stuff like vehicle reflections from the SkyGFX mod.

The mod requires more performance from your computer, so it could possibly make your fan louder if it's working harder. To uninstall, simply remove the files you installed.

So I was randomly installing and removing some mods and they automatically solved mip mapping and view range effect and srt thing problems even though before watching your videos I didn’t know what are those options for in the game lol Thanks though

@TJGM Thank you brother. I spent a while inside ini. Files configuring draw distance and stuff but nothing worked. In the end, it was either Pre-Lighting fixes or particle enhancer conflicting with, I assume SkyGFX. I just deleted both of those out of curiosity and have got it sorted! My game's looking and running perfectly. Thank you for your tutorials dude, they were such a huge help. I would not have been able to do it without your guides!
I dont know what is it, but my game keeps getting fps drops even with Open limit adjuster installed and nothing on my hardware going over even 50% usage, I have tried even using project 2dfx in a fresh copy with just the essencial mods (silentpatch, OLA, widescreen fixes, windowed mode and framerate vigilante) but still no luck, am I missing something? (P.S: I have fastman limit adjuster installed but not configured since I couldnt find anywhere a guide for how to properly configure the ini file)
hiii, is this working with directx 3.0 by makarus because i cant make it work im getting crashes in samp when starting. edit : map doesnt load only the cars and its very glitchy i cant see building roads or anything

I had this mod for the longest and today I decided to change some of the values to improve my game. When I changed them my game would begin to crash and so I changed them back to their previous values. For some reason now the game just refuses to play now. It constantly crashes as soon as I leave the safe house and walk for a bit. I spent the last couple of hours trying to fix it and at this point I might have to delete the entire game and reinstall all the mods I have. Do you know what went wrong?
Turns out it was a different mod I have called Enterable Hidden Interiors. Although I had it for the longest, I’m unsure as to why it was breaking my game now.

i did like you said but the game is now lagging to 45- 60 fps where it was getting 165. the problem is my cpu and gpu is not even being utilized so whats the problem ??
@@TJGM Turns out the culprit was "proper web anims " animation packs were causing significant frame drops. found out because i saw how to troubleshoot from your ultimate modding guide p.s: have you tried out project immerse yourself ? it really elevates project 2dfx. A showcase would be nice.

I believe the draw distance for the PS2 version was 300, but could be wrong as it was kind of a pain to find out

I'd personally set the StaticShadowsIntensity to 0.1 or 0.5 because of areas with a lot of lamps cause the lights to overlap and be super bright

My GTA SA Starts choking when I install this 2dfx mod, I tried lower the settings from the ini file still it chokes : (

Tengo un problema con el Mod, lo meto en la carpeta modloader y entro a un servidor SAMP DL, dicho servidor tiene mapeos que no son Vanilla y concretamente en una zona de la ciudad, me da CRASH. Comprobé mod por mod y efectivamente es el 2DFX. ¿Podrías ayudarme? Gracias

So I was randomly installing and removing some mods and they automatically solved mip mapping and view range effect and srt thing problems even though before watching your videos I didn’t know what are those options for in the game lol

Why my GTA SA has a graffity glich in save house and behind Cj when I walked outta house. This happend when I put Mod Real Skybox, but if I cut or delete it that glitch show again. Can you help me, please?
The models for the skybox aren’t being loaded correctly. Not really sure, you’d have to ask the author of that mod.

very nice but if i used it more 1h my game will be error: not enough space for coronas, if i set the coronas 0 its will be fixed?
The only issue i'm having is that the larger trees on the map have big gray boxes around them when in the distance.
That's a mod incompatibility.
@TJGM Thank you brother. I spent a while inside ini. Files configuring draw distance and stuff but nothing worked. In the end, it was either Pre-Lighting fixes or particle enhancer conflicting with, I assume SkyGFX. I just deleted both of those out of curiosity and have got it sorted! My game's looking and running perfectly. Thank you for your tutorials dude, they were such a huge help. I would not have been able to do it without your guides!
I dont know what is it, but my game keeps getting fps drops even with Open limit adjuster installed and nothing on my hardware going over even 50% usage, I have tried even using project 2dfx in a fresh copy with just the essencial mods (silentpatch, OLA, widescreen fixes, windowed mode and framerate vigilante) but still no luck, am I missing something?
(P.S: I have fastman limit adjuster installed but not configured since I couldnt find anywhere a guide for how to properly configure the ini file)

It's because Project 2DFX changes the farclip. Disable the draw distance changer in the .ini and it should fix it.

Replace the Project 2DFX ini in your Project 2DFX folder with mine.
I had this mod for the longest and today I decided to change some of the values to improve my game. When I changed them my game would begin to crash and so I changed them back to their previous values. For some reason now the game just refuses to play now. It constantly crashes as soon as I leave the safe house and walk for a bit. I spent the last couple of hours trying to fix it and at this point I might have to delete the entire game and reinstall all the mods I have. Do you know what went wrong?

Turns out it was a different mod I have called Enterable Hidden Interiors. Although I had it for the longest, I’m unsure as to why it was breaking my game now.
Why did you skip Factor values from DrawDistanceChanger. Atleast you should have explained.

i did like you said but the game is now lagging to 45- 60 fps where it was getting 165. the problem is my cpu and gpu is not even being utilized so whats the problem ??
Game isn't optimised great.
Either way, you shouldn't be playing at 100+ FPS anyway, an FPS that high will break a lot of things in-game.

animation packs were causing significant frame drops. found out because i saw how to troubleshoot from your ultimate modding guide
p.s: have you tried out project immerse yourself ? it really elevates project 2dfx. A showcase would be nice.
