  • I've lived in this area all my life.
For the last four and a half years, I've had the honour of being the Member of Parliament for Penistone and Stocksbridge, which includes Chapeltown, Dodworth and our villages.
I love our community, and I decided to go into politics because I want our towns and villages to be the best place possible to live, work and raise a family.
As your MP, I've campaigned on local and national issues, and secured millions of pounds of funding for our local area. I've led national campaigns on child protection, and changed the law to prosecute Big Tech bosses who fail to keep children safe online.
Unlike many politicians, I'm not afraid to stand up for common sense and speak out on difficult issues, even when it's not what the media or Westminster want to hear.
If you want me to continue with the great work we're doing locally, and continue to be your bold and courageous voice in Parliament then please use your vote to re-elect me, Miriam Cates on 4th of July.

This is an interesting video, Miriam.
You make the most of the local benefits that the government has given to your area and your national campaign (while I don’t know its detail, it would suggest that you have done something positive.)
Given that you base most of your piece on your local good work, why do you attempt to frighten the electorate with the national things you say the Labour Party will do? (E.g. raising taxes (something they say they won’t do) although wasn’t VAT 17.5% back in 2010?) Hmmmmm) After all, you have been part of, if unwittingly, possibly the most incompetent and corrupt party for some considerable time, perhaps since the Great Reform Act of 1832:
a liar of a Prime Minister who made one set of rules and then broke them
a leader who trashed the economy within days of coming to power and made the promise that she was a fighter not a quitter but then resigned
there followed a leader who said that he would lead a transparent government but the deals with the Home Secretary were soon revealed
and I’m sure that I don’t need to mention the dreadful waste of public money on PPE which was siphoned off by “The Friends of the Tories”
I wish you well, Miriam, but surely you have no desire to sit on the same benches as the above and be tarred with the same brush?

I don't want labour in charge, but neither do I want the Tories.
As great as Miriam has been, a vote for her is a vote for the Tories.
If she joined Reform UK or became an independent, she'd have my vote in an instant, but the bottom line is the Tories and Labour are two heads on the same WEF controlled snake and this election is nothing short of a baton passing to Labour who will just continue the same underlying agenda that the Tories have been pushing, acting on behalf of foreign non governmental organisations, lobbyists and the rich (criminal) elites and central bankers.
The ONLY way to make a REAL change in this country is to either take a chance that Reform aren't just another head on the snake or remove your consent to be governed by 'Leaders' who do NOT have our best interests at heart, by writing "I DO NOT CONSENT" on your ballot form
Imagine the constitutional crisis that should cause if EVERYONE did that, including those who are awake, know "democracy" is an illusion and simply don't see the point in voting.
But that's the biggest challenge of all - convincing people NOT to vote for the usual establishment puppets.
At least Starmer was honest when, given the choice of westminster or Davos, he said on BBC TV, "Davos"(ie. World Economic Forum)
