I live in the EU but I noticed that US residents have a bit more options than us. Overall if I lived in the US I would probably buy local or as local as possible to save on shipping, or buy in bulk - or look for free shipping, which brings me to Vulcan. That company deserves a closer look - their standard series barbells can match any other brand in the US (in the same price range).
@@markandersen154 true, I mentioned shopping local and used in the past few so I left it out of this one. I debated Vulcan (and others) but it's hard to limit the length of these videos
@@Azegreen the super bench? Who doesn't want a preacher curl attachment!? But why are the wheels an option? Not my favorite but for people who value those attachments it's not bad.
I ended up getting a vintage airdyne for free, and an entry commercial Precor elliptical for $200. My point is for gross cardio stuff i would never buy new, most stuff i try to get used if possible but i find so much cardio stuff lightly used second hand because that's typically the first thing someone buys "when they need to start working out" and it only ever collects dust.
I would recommend an adjustable bench ahead of a flat bench. Adjustable benches give you SO many more options for exercises which of course is one of the limiting factors in a home gym. I Used an adjustable lifetime fitness bench and Power Blocks for over a year and with some effort and creativity, you can do some great training for a limited budget.
I own the Power Block dumbbells and think they are great. Something to keep in mind is that they are flat on the ends so if you are pressing they can rest on your thighs like any "regular" dumbbells. Adjustment is also quite fast, which makes drop sets possible. It can be finicky, but getting the hang of it comes quickly. They are the best adjustable dumbbells in my opinion.
Hi, thanks to this review I grabbed an AB3100 today on a black Friday special and saved a couple of bucks. It met all my needs and was a great buy at 221 delivered. Thanks for the great reviews and help filling out the pain corner at my house.
Very informative & thorough video. I really enjoyed your content. Thank you for the various choices. Will be using this video to help me with my home gym.
I bought 2 boneyard OPB’s, an Echo bar, 500kg Rogue calibrated plates, Fringesport power cage, Rep AB3000 for about $3300 shipped during the 2019 Black Friday sale. I sold some of the extra 25kg plates and my total cost came down to about $2200. Best investment ever. I probably can’t afford to buy everything again at today’s prices.
It's a different world atm... I got a lot of my stuff pre covid for insane deals. Wow the plates though! Man that's some weight and calibrated, I'm jealous. Sound like a good setup!
Yeah the plates came out cheaper than machined plates because of the Hundo pricing and 5 for $5 shipping. I think it was almost the same price as regular olympic plates so it was a no brainer to get them 🤣
I would suggest the kettle bells sold by Walmart. Yes, Walmart. Cap makes them. They’re always in stock and the fit and finish is pretty good. They’re the gray hammer tone colors with no flash. Not the best but cheap enough without sacrificing quality.
Love not being a power lifter rarely squaring means I don’t need many 45s and not many 45s means I can afford rogue very nice and cool tip in Canada you can buy adjustable dumbells from Canadian tire for 200$ for 2 and they use 1 inch plates I bought them it’s a great deal and there only slightly wobbly. Thanks for going in depth on benches I find that having a nice sturdy adjustable bench is more important than kettlebells
How about a really small fry challenge… $500, AND it has to work in a 10 x 10 room with 7.5 ft ceilings…. Call it the spare bedroom on a dime challenge!!
Buy USED gym equipment. Half rack stand with adjustable bench, barbell set, and a few dumbbells (25, 30, 35 lbs.). This is bare minimum. You can slowly add attachments like a landmine to the barbell (a lot more movements) and more dumbbells to your small set. There are TONS of exercises you can perform with just this layout. This is how I started. Try single leg Bulgarian split squats with two 35 lbs dumbbells, for example. Best of luck with your 10x10 ft gym.
Thanks! They're pretty good and I use them pretty often though for DL I don't bother they move too much but for $10 they are great for a lot of things.
I've heard the colored bumpers don't smell much/if at all after a couple days airing out, is this true? As someone living in a studio apartment, I had to return the black bumpers I purchased due to living in essentially non stop rubber fumes.
Idk if there's much behind it, I'd think it matters more with the rubber used and the quality of the bumper rather than the color but who knows. In the garage nothing smells much, someone in a smaller space may have a more educated opinion.
@@GlucksGym So I ended up grabbing the rep colored ones. Much less of a smell than the blacks and no smell after leaving it out in the sun for a couple hours.
It’s still pretty solid advice but since everything has gone up in new stuff maybe 3000-3500. But marketplace is getting some decent stuff again seening full used gym set ups got 1500-2500
Seems like a missed joke, "I prefer wood". Does your wife know about this? Lol. Anyway, very informative, this will help me in my buying decisions for my new gym setup.
I’m watching this like I can afford anything that you’re talking about 😂😂😭😭😭😭😭. I’m a teenager whose only money source is babysitting because I don’t have a car and my parents can’t drive me 😭😭😭😭
For every pound you save in shipping, only three Chinese moms committed suicide at the factory. Love me some Titan. Let’s continue to buy Titan and win the culture war.
What did i miss? What would you get at this price range? Let me know so I can work on the next one!

How about ironmaster bench/ attachments? I think these could be a pretty versatile choice for a home gym.

Ok, finally subscribed. I’ve been watching this channel and it’s been pretty good.
Awww yeah!
This was an amazing walkthrough of options at the $2500 budget. So so much info crammed in here. Super helpful all around.

I think most people would agree with you. There's some great options but those almost always come out on top.
Yeah can't beat the speed of changing weight. I grew up on spin locks and PowerBlocks were a life changer!

Hey I live in Canada too and yeah love the dumbbell training handles. I don't know why they're so hard to find anywhere else.
Nice comprehensive list of your favorites.
Thank you!
I love the vault boy funko! I have 2 of them in my gym as well!
Still on the search for a female pop for Wynie for the gym
Great information bro! Thanks! I've been on the fence with REP or Titan for a power rack. This helps me with my decision.
Now I wonder which you picked!?
@@GlucksGym going with REP for the power rack. Rogue for my power bar and plates.
@@matt30125 sounds like the kind of build I'd like. The 4000 and 5000 are on my short list if racks if I upgraded.
First like and viewer!!! Awesome video!
Thanks Tony! I was worried it was too long.
Nice job, lots of research on these items
Too much work and time! Why can't I just be famous
Even if the shipping is priced in. Titan's stuff is still reasonably and fairly priced over the others.
What a very thorough and informative video! Thanks for putting in so much time and effort 🙏
Thanks man. Honestly took way too much time to make but it's out and I'm happy with it.
Why would you be forced to keep wooden rings inside? Or are you setting them up permenantly?
I know I'm in the minority, but I really didn't like my powerblocks. I ended up selling them and getting ironmasters instead, and they're great.
sick trackhoe bro
Haha if it was only ours
What kind of wall covering do you have in your gym. I am finishing a shed garage into a gym and am looking at different wall interior coverings .
That's shiplap placed vertically. It matches the outside of the garage (looks like a barn) so I thought it would look good inside too.
@@GlucksGym Thanks! I am thinking an oak paneling or something.

Did the price double for everything on here? I just clicked the link for the REP power rack and the starting price is $1400
Last time I checked Wrap prices were actually a little bit lower since they did "free" shipping. I might've linked bigger variation of the rack idk

What about 20" loadable barbells for dumbbells?
