I am from Parma. I can tell you that he is honoured here by giving his name to one of the streets along the central river of the city and to a school, while his native house is now a museum. Unfortunately, I am not sure how many, nowadays, even in Parma know who he was. But that's a problem for all classical music in general.
48:02 in the original film, Toscanini had included his orchestration of the socialist “Internationale” between the Inno delle Nazioni and the Star Spangled Banner. However this segment was taken away from the original footage after the war for the reasons we know…
And he was also Related to the that Great Concert Pianist Vladimir Horowits because in 1933 Vladimir Horowits Married Wanda Toscanini Arturo's Daughter and if anyone cares to listen to their 1941 and 1943 Recordings of the Tchaikovsky B flat Minor Piano Concertos which they made in with the NBC Symphony Orchestra anyone can tell that the Chemistry between the two Great Artists is their but I didn't think that some of Toscanini Recording's didn't do him justice
Originally released in 1985, I think. I used to have this on VHS. Clearly though, the 2006 version has had a lot of performance footage added to it that was not included in the original version. Most of this extra footage comes from the NBC concerts he did on television between 1948 and 1952.
A great story; a great man. Unfortunately, none of these performances convince me that he was a great conductor. I find the interpretations rigid and dry! Forgive me.

Unlike so many, his music making stayed youthful to the very end. Electrifying! A very great man indeed.
He had charisma, chemistry and magic, He is "Patrimonio dell'Umanità"

This excellent documentary was made in 1988 (it's in the final credits), not 2006.
He was a great Man before being a great Conductor. He was a gift from Heaven!
He was a part of the ferocity of heaven. The darkness that shines.
great maestro

I shall not forgive you sir! You must submit!
I actually quite like his fast interpretation of verdi's. It's rarely played that way today
Shame on you!
better to forgive you 😅😅😅
