Congratulations on your achievement! You just made that guitar your own. I know how it feels as I did the same on my Gibson Custom-Inspired Epiphone 1959 ES-355 Ebony. It made me love the guitar more. Like you, I also replaced the stock Grover Rotomatic tuners with Grover 502GK Rotogrip Locking Rotomatic tuners with Keytone buttons also called Tulip. Among my acoustics, in my experience, Rosewood buffs out the nicest. Enjoy your guitar.
I have a gibson j200 standard and also a sigma j200 (an 8 year old one with rosewood fretboard, they use micarta for the board and the bridge, imho i think the new ones don't sound as good), my gibson is my prized possesion❤, but the sigma is so close to it!! pound for pound they cannot compare! i was completely put off this and the new epiphone j45 because of that horrible satin finish on them, what you've done looks fantastic!! i think i might be getting a couple of new geets very soon! 😍
I honestly hate the Epiphone headstock and I don’t under stand why they don’t do what Fender does and use the same design for Squier. I love how they did the original Gibson headstock on this and I might pick this up because of that
Very nice job 👍🏼👏🏼 But i will stay with the mate finishing on my 1957 IGC SJ-200 and also the original tuners. I have the Grover's on my Gibson J-45 Standard and I find it a bit chunky 🤷🏼♂️ I like your videos very much 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👍🏼
How much of the meguires bottle was used in total? Thanks for this video it's inspired me to try. Excellent visuals. How many coats did you apply? Thanks!!
Thank’s for the video. Very interresting. I've never done this kind of thing before. Not being talented, I certainly think of calling on a luthier to make it glossy as you did. Especially with a guitar for $1,500. Do you know more or less how much it would cost by going through a luthier?
Hey Paul! Great Video! Can I ask that you do a breakdown on the strings that Paul Used on all of his basses in the Beatles? I’m a Bass player and I’m trying to figure out which strings he used for each era, specifically for the Hofner, during the paperback writer. If you could help me out with that, it would be a big help, thanks!
Through a guy that knew a guy that knew another guy hahahaha. I wish they were a bit closer to the vintage ones but they look damn close. Unfortunately I was only able to get those 2. And I think that was about 8 years ago now
That is a great question! Unfortunately there isn’t many photos of it that are quality. I’ll have to rewatch the movie and see if I can pick it up from there
Releasing a video tomorrow of trying this myself. Yours came out much more glossy! A little jealous, but thankful for your inspiration (video is live Halloween - ruclips.net/video/jZNUHUCIOIs/видео.html)

This is incredible, Paul. You completely transformed that guitar! The sheen that’s brought out by a little buffing went a long way in particular.
Thanks Jacob!!!
I get the feeling this guy likes vox a lot
Great job Paul, gloss was definitely the way to go!👍👍
Legendary job Paul, looks absolutely stunning! Definitely reckon the mods improved the guitar
Thanks Luke!!

I hate the usual Epi headstocks too. This guitar is awesome.
Big agreement
Thank you Paul!

Sending a guitar your place Paul 😍 let me know how much to get it done mate 😘
I tried two guitars with laurel fretboards, and they are just not smooth enough to justify the price. For that price, it should be rosewood.
I'd give ten thumbs up for Grover tuners but I only have 2 hands. At least I don't have to use one hand for tuning the guitar the entire time too
Hey man, you’ve defo improved the look, think your technique would work on the natural model of this guitar?
Definitely!!!
How much of the meguires bottle was used in total? Thanks for this video it's inspired me to try. Excellent visuals. How many coats did you apply? Thanks!!
Hi Paul, What strings did you use to replace the stock Gibson strings? Thanks.
D’Addario EJ16. But I do plan on switching them out and trying a few other D’Addarios!

I’m not too sure! If I had to guess, $150-200 roughly
Would you consider doing a mod to swap out the saddle for the tune-o-matic setup?
Yes! Coming up soon I plan on talking with my luthier to see what the possibility is
@@guitargearconnectionI have always been curious about doing that kind of mod. Eagerly looking forward to seeing this one!!

Ugh I know I need to get going on that asap lol. I’ll have a video out soon going over it all!
@@guitargearconnection Thank You!
where did you get the 2 screw truss rod cover for your epiphone casino ?
Through a guy that knew a guy that knew another guy hahahaha. I wish they were a bit closer to the vintage ones but they look damn close. Unfortunately I was only able to get those 2. And I think that was about 8 years ago now
Where did you buy the truss rod cover please.?
Anybody point me in right direction? Having no luck
How did the tone/sound change when you did the finish? Did it affect it/make it good worse?
No change at all! Just feels better at the neck
You buffed and polished the neck as well?
What strings would george have used on his J 200?
Sonomatics?
