- Cracked headstock is always sad, especially on guitars like this. This is really good Martin D-28 that fell of the stand. But if you act quickly and use proper technique it can be done nearly as good as new :)
Thanks for paintjob to our friend - @grankinworkshop
Also we launch YT sponsorship, and already have educational content about fretworks.

So much for the effectiveness of a volute in preventing a headstock break. It just directs the force to an unsupported area.
Great work!
This Lady knows what she is doing, skilled to make that repair invisible is awesome. Love watching her clips
This has to be one of the cleanest neck break repair ive ever seen. Some serious skills there Tanya and i love watching your videos they are inspiring me to learn how to do a refret :)
Cheat , bluff
@@ovniufo6777its good to read, but its better to watch and learn
That was impressive--you'd never have known there was a break there at all. Well done!
Was a carpet layer for fifty years and in all that time i think i saw two or three trade ladies. Always found that they had more attention to detail so we should see more 😊
You got that right, my wife constantly finds my flaws when I am doing home improvement projects
Absolutely perfect - actually incredible. When the wood glue was dripping and then the hard file came out I was like ‘oh - this is not coming along well’ and then magic happened, absolutely amazing

Aesthetically, that's about as good as a headstock repair as you can get!
Compressed air is a great way to get glue deep into a narrow crack.
Great idea!
Or a glue syringe. I would be afraid that compressed air would blow it apart.
Wow! Thats one of the best neck repairs I've ever seen. Amazing work. Thanks for sharing!
You cant even see the crack anymore Thats awesome work
Really enjoy the calm style of your videos. Plus, great repair and the best nails in all guitar repair!
Amazing work, Tanya. One of the best I've seen. Thank you.
Great job! I haven't seen many breaks at the volute. It is ironic since the volute is designed to fortify the pitchback of the of the headstock. I always see breaks above or below the scarf joint. I wish there was a way to get you some GluBoost. It will save having to refinish the entire neck to conceal the repair marks. Nevertheless, it turned out awesome. Well done.
This young lady is great to watch. Amazing work.
What a magnificent job, you can't even see the slightest mark. Well done.
Top class job I love watch different Luthiers and they all have their own ways of repairing guitars
That was awesome! I was saying to myself “how’s she going to clamp around the volute?” and then saw your frame (not sure if that’s the right term) with the volute cut out for the clamps. As someone who knows next to nothing about woodwork or guitar repair, this was especially amazing.
The other neck repair video popped up and I was so impressed Im checking out your other videos. Much enjoyment seeing a female in the art / craft of luthier work. No offense tonthe guys but what a nice change and shes damn good at it.
wonderful to see Ladies in this field!!
I have no idea why i watched this but i found it extremely relaxing. Good stuff.
Falls are always dynamic, and egregious. God bless any player who has to suffer from such.
Back in the early-to-mid '70s, players were coming into my brother's music store with old Gibsons and Martins and Guilds, in need of new tuners ... Back in the past, makers seemed to use lower quality tuners to save money. I hand-reamed MANY a hole to instal new Grover or Schaller tuners. Using a reamer and a rattail file, I marveled at the mahogany dust that came out of those old headstocks, as it was dry as the desert. This was in Tallahassee, Florida where you would think there was plenty of moisture. However, home heaters and A/C units dried out all kinds of woods. My belief is that super dry wood is weak wood. I use a simple humidifier in the cases of my guitars with mahogany necks. Those things are bone dry in about three weeks, dependent upon time of the year (there are actually a few weeks where we do not need the heater or A/C).
Here's my method for installing strings:
All you have to do, is run the entire string through the post. Back it up maybe a post-and-a-half's worth. Bend the excess toward the middle of the headstock. Wind the string down like a coil (the lower on the post the string, the tighter against the nut it will be). Then bend the excess string back and forth until it breaks off cleanly. No need for clippers. No stickers to nail your fingers. However, you have to twice overwrap the string-through on the 1st and 2nd strings, otherwise, when you break off the strings, they will slip on the posts.
Trust me. You will love having no stickers to draw blood. By bending the excess string toward the middle of the headstock, you form an "S" through the post, adding to a tight fit. Oh yeh, some nut lube on that nut will work wonders for tuning. That’s 61 years of string changing experience for you … But what’s right for you, is right for you!
Wow that is beautiful work it was like you transported the guitar back in time to before it was broken! Subscribed!
Great job! And the clamp you came up with was very suitable, good idea!
absolutely stunning, just like new
That was certainly one of the kindest neck breaks I've seen. Brilliant repair, Tanya. Flawless. Something of which to be very proud of. Congrats on over 60k + subs!!

Великолепно выполненная работа!
Nice, neat and accurate...I noticed that the mahogany neck breaks in a critical spot....Gibson mahogany is a must....
Wow.......just wow.
Awesome skills
CiAo! Sei proprio brava. ;)
Tanya is not from USA,she from Ukraine)this place have a lot of proffesional luthiers🔥

Fantastic work!
Damn...that's like an Erlewine repair! Flawless!
Great job! Have you ever tried the dark Titebond glue? It's great for gluing dark wood surfaces.
I’m a fan!
Brilliant work! Wow
Amazing finish! But how strong will this end up being? I always see headstock breaks being repaired with splines and bowties.
Wow -perfect!
Most excellent. Fine craftsmanship.
Just perfect!!
Water to swell the grain?
Ty for another great vid. Please tell us what products you finish your fret boards with, starting at 6:42 . Thanks.
Fantastic
Beautiful work. Do you job out (contract) the spray and buffing job? It looks like someone else’s hands.
that's got tho be the strongest glue without a dowel or some sort, the head didn't break when tension was applied to the strings.
Great work,nice nails
What a geat job! Did you use the Superglue you to fill in the cracks? Could you please show how to fix the curved neck of a classical guitar w.o. a truss rod. Or is it too expensive for the majority of (reasonably priced) guitars ?
CA is great as filler and kind of primer.
In some cases curved neck can be "fixed" by just planning of fretboard and proper refretting, but in case of major defects or twisted neck it jus too much work and it make no sense at all))
But if I got an occasion - I`ll make video)
