honestly had no clue that lagombi's deviant armor was so good for me. I main aerial greatsword and have been getting hermitaur ready for ultimate, now i see to switch to lagombi, thanks for the vid :D
12:24 What are you talking about? Bludgeoner got a massive boost in XX. Instead of giving a flat +15 Atk it provides a +10% attack increase. White/purple sharpness weapons still better overall, but at least makes akantor weapons kind of viable.
The biggest issue, I think, is that there aren't as many maxed G-rank weapons in Generations Ultimate that have easily accessible green sharpness compared to maxed high-rank weapons from Generations. The Gendrome sword and shield, which was one of the flagship Bludgeoner weapons in Generations, for example, had green sharpness out the gate when maxed at high rank, but has its green sharpness locked behind 50 points of blue when maxed at G-rank. It's a straight buff if you were already planning on using a weapon that starts at green sharpness when maxed, but for most players, the lower availability of compatible weapons hits harder. It would have been nice if they added a Bludgeoner +2 that gave a boost to blue sharpness.
Just got this now that its on sale and I can actually get it... I think I busted when I saw Boltreaver Astalos. As I primarily used an Astalos set with either Serigios or Nargacuga DB's as the weapon, of course, with aerial. Dear lord, that deviant set is true beauty to me.
That bloodbath diablos! Lord. I remember in generations I made a set that worked with keeping the anciant weapons in their rust forms for the unholy attack power. If I can find a way to throw handicraft in their somehow, I think it will be time to resurrect those weapons.
I tried making a set with Sharpness +2, Weakness Exploit and Crit Eye for the rusted Switch Axe because of the 30% affinity that the art gave, which would give the weapon 30-something positive affinity on 270 raw blue sharpness, but ultimately dropped it because of the lack of power that I felt using it, probably due to it being a dragon phial. Actually being able to do damage against something with a rusty piece of metal was pretty fun though.
With Sharpness +2, Crit Eye -3(difficult to get those 2 skills and anything else) Rueful Crit and the Worn GS, the effective raw including sharpness but nothing else would be 614.25. By comparison a 100% affinity, Crit Boost set with the Silverwind GS(a relatively common and overused set in MHXX and can have other skills) effective raw including sharpness but nothing else would be 646.8. Rueful Crit is a gimmicky thing and isn't all that great, but if *you* really want to go for it, then by all means, it's better than yet another 100% affinity/Crit Boost set.
I haven't played a handheld Monster Hunter since MH4U, but I have been absorbed in MH:W the past few months. Seeing the designs on these sets really makes me want more flamboyant over-the-top designs in World...oh well, a man can dream, right? :D
domdon950 been playing since monster hunter on ps2 and have never gotten a "realistic" vibe from the series, but I understand the art direction. Still would be nice to see some crazy stuff in World.
domdon950 That's a really interesting and awesome outlook that I haven't given much thought to, but now the gears are turning in my head. A portable with the changes world brought to the series would be epic!
G-Rank Mizutsune looks BEAUTIFUL! I so want that armor, the normal one was and is my favorite one to use from both the look and the skills, I just found it super useful. And now with that lovely kitsune mask on the male, which looks even better than the gunner mask? Count me in!
When i own this game i am going for that mizutsune soulseer armour it looks really cool and has some nice skills especially paired with sword and shield or dual blades or maybe even long sword!
Rueful crit adds a very very small damage increase per negative crit. If the numbers you gave are correct, that's 1% damage increase per 16% negative crit. This is basically a slight damage increase + negation to any negative crit you may have. I'd treat it as ignoring negative crit, mostly. Type this into google to graph the damage for rueful crit: y= (3/4) (x) )(0.75) + (x))(1/4)(2.0) + (1-x))(1.0) where X is the amount of negative crit you have. I'm excited to try this with some worn/weathered builds. The fact that handicraft gems give minus critical eye only sweetens the deal.
My favorite deviant is a tie between the red helm and the drilltusk. They just change the original fight so much and both their armors are easier to get and stronger than several of the harder deviant monsters (Dk and Dq)
The level of quality in armor sets between other monster hunter games like this one and then looking at MHW it just makes you damn sad. Imean it just makes your jaw drop looking at these things! & You just know world has the potential to have this kind of stuff imean just look at the Xeno'Jiva set, cmon' Capcom!! X(
That would be awesome if you did a video on the skill trumpcard! I kind of know what it does, but it would be interesting to find out what effect it has on all the hunter arts. Also I haven't exactly figured out yet how long it stays active once it procs. Great video! :-)
Bloodbath Diablos full armor + Indignant Scar or Demon Incarnate + bludgeoner level 6 with 3 slots charm + brave style = the best deadly set in the game ^^
If all goes well, I will hopefully have this game before summer is over this year...better late than never! I had Gen, but my copy got stolen. I'm gonna main Aerial DB, and I DEFINITELY plan to make both Deviant Rath sets, Silverwind Nargacuga, Snowbaron Lagombi, and Hellblade Glavenus! Of the new ones, I wanna make ALL the weapons from the Flagships, except Gammoth...I love hunting them, they're great fun, but I prefer high affinity and Sharpness on my weapons...so I'll probably be going for Deviant Mizutsune and Astalos sets, too!
Heavenly eye is so neat. Look at that red heel and claw like gloves and boots. I have my ギグギ set transmog to this. Aesthetic comes with attacks up (HG).
So many sexy looking armor sets in this game... I already have DK, but I might have to make Snowbaron as well. And I definitely want to transmog Grimclaw over something, or maybe that new Astalos deviant... They are just so hot!
Since I transferred my game from Gen to Gen Ultimate...I've still been using - exclusively - the Grimclaw Armor. Speed eating and HG earplugs for the bloody win!!!
I'm going to max them all regardless. Elderfrost seems more suited for a Bow instead of a blade imo. In 4U, I always try to keep my weapons in White/Purple Sharpness. But all in all, I think I'm more excited for Transmogging than the actual deviants. I can remake one of my best fashionable AND functional sets I had in 4U. (Basically the Amatsu Chest and Waist, alongside Fatalis Arms and Legs. I had the Zinogre Pigtails with Brutality in it, but since it's not going to be in Generations Ultimate, I can find a suitable replacement.)
Well, as I am just getting aback into MHG right now, and trying out a new weapon + style (really liking Aerial Gunlance right now, though I wind up as Prowler more often still), the info for Snowbaron Lagombi is looking quite nice, skill-wise. Appearance-wise, I may transmog Elderfrost Gammoth.
Just beat my first EX deviant (rustrazor), not really planning on making any deviant sets to use specifically, next EX will probably be soulseer for the transmog.
4 years since my last comment. Unfortunately, if your goal is to finish a hunt as fast as possible, none of the Deviant sets do a very good job. You want mixed sets, especially ones with skills like Critical Eye +2/+3, Critical Boost, Weakness Exploit, Repeat Offender, and other damage/affinity boosting skills. Sharpness+2 and Razor Sharp are also important for maintaining sharpness. The only full armor set that seems to approach this is the GX Old Fatalis armor set, which gives Critical Eye +3, Critical Boost, and the compound skill Fleet Feet, which combines Evade Extender (further evade distance) and Peak Performance (more attack when health is full). And the negative skill, Horrible Luck, implies that you don't care about the quest rewards.
Appearance wise, bloodbath Diabolos is the best hands down but I love mitzusunes skills, evasion abilities plus my favorite skill challenger 2? No contest there. So i guess I'll have to max out both thier levels to get mirzu practicality and Diabolos glamour x3. I'll be so fun making a return to a MH with so much to do compared to world...
Soulseer Mizutsune cause that monster is just gorgeous to fight and look at. Deadeye yian Garuga cause it is an amazing set to play reckless when you have a SnS!
I already was a little suspicous about the Heavy Polish skill and now that I have done some testing I can confirm that Heavy Polish DOES NOT work the same way as Protective Polish does. The skill works as the following: When you use a whetstone your sharpness will still decrease as normal unlike Protective polish. Instead it will increase its power. I cant seem to find out what they exactly mean by "power" Since it doesn't effect the raw dmg of the weapon at all. I guess it effects the sharpness multiplier but I cant find the damage values no matter how hard I look.
I'm surprised I can't find a timestamp collection so I will just make one

It's a straight buff if you were already planning on using a weapon that starts at green sharpness when maxed, but for most players, the lower availability of compatible weapons hits harder. It would have been nice if they added a Bludgeoner +2 that gave a boost to blue sharpness.
Awesome
I already maxed out Hellblade and Silverwind
I have dreadking and dreadqueen but not maxed yet
Just got this now that its on sale and I can actually get it... I think I busted when I saw Boltreaver Astalos. As I primarily used an Astalos set with either Serigios or Nargacuga DB's as the weapon, of course, with aerial. Dear lord, that deviant set is true beauty to me.
That bloodbath diablos! Lord. I remember in generations I made a set that worked with keeping the anciant weapons in their rust forms for the unholy attack power. If I can find a way to throw handicraft in their somehow, I think it will be time to resurrect those weapons.
Ah yes, those things that eat up earth crystals and monster broth like a hungry deviljho.
Personally, the one I've used the most is the silverwind one, I use it for an evade lance set and it's really fun to use
Same. Except i use maxed out bloodbath
@@riverguavs6139grimclaw and soulseer are the 2 deviant sets I mainly use
Probably gonna go the same way as gen and favour my boys Nargacuga and Zinogre. Mizutsune is a real beauty though so I'm excited for it as well.
On the astalos armor I'm pretty certain bonus shot would replace sharpness +1 not critical boost.
aesthetic wise, i really liked that crystalbeard armor, because you really look like a mecha hunter of some sorts, and that's really cool.
I haven't played a handheld Monster Hunter since MH4U, but I have been absorbed in MH:W the past few months. Seeing the designs on these sets really makes me want more flamboyant over-the-top designs in World...oh well, a man can dream, right? :D
Zach Rajewski World is going for a more realistic kinda thing and GU says Fuck that shit
domdon950 been playing since monster hunter on ps2 and have never gotten a "realistic" vibe from the series, but I understand the art direction. Still would be nice to see some crazy stuff in World.
Zach Rajewski at this point hope the Portable Team has access to World’s Engine for thier next game which may be the Switch MH CC is tossing around
domdon950 That's a really interesting and awesome outlook that I haven't given much thought to, but now the gears are turning in my head.
Ended up wearing the gunner mask on my blademaster set 'cause FASHION. XX can't come fast enough. The new Mizu set looks fantastic.
but who is rA9?
bejisan1 rA9 is gaijin hunter!

Black Flame King!!! >=3
Ooo bloodbath sounds good too~
crystalbeard uragaans armor looks like something from a metroid game
Wow. So many skills for G Rank monster armors. I can’t wait for Master Rank in MhW.
When i own this game i am going for that mizutsune soulseer armour it looks really cool and has some nice skills especially paired with sword and shield or dual blades or maybe even long sword!
Excuse me? That Crystalbeard Uragaan armor is dope
Missing 8 deviants in stories 2 🤔
Whatever how could I be disappointed either way, we’re getting 10!!
To date Repeat Offender is my favorite skill in regards to both Name and Effect. Even with Iceborne out that doesn’t change.
The grind for these monsters is brutal

i dunno why i did this but it turns out dat i didn't need to :( #used20minutesofmytime4nothing
X(
The main reason why I bought switch man I can’t wait for this!
I bought switch only for this game as well
im gonna wear thunder lord zinogre sert cause is says antivirus we need this
Hello there, i got a question:
If the Boltreaver skill gives sharpness +1, can i upgrade it to sharpness +2 with a charm?
Please, help me!
Yes you can, and if you use the hellblade set (which give you handicraft +2) you can use razor sharp too.
That would be awesome if you did a video on the skill trumpcard!
I kind of know what it does, but it would be interesting to find out what effect it has on all the hunter arts. Also I haven't exactly figured out yet how long it stays active once it procs.
Great video! :-)
The Deviant armors are the most coolest looking ones out of all of monster hunter
Bloodbath Diablos full armor + Indignant Scar or Demon Incarnate + bludgeoner level 6 with 3 slots charm + brave style = the best deadly set in the game ^^
Wow, Silverwind Male Armor Makes You Look Like A Black Panther
Can't wait to play this all day on the big screen !
So many sexy looking armor sets in this game... I already have DK, but I might have to make Snowbaron as well. And I definitely want to transmog Grimclaw over something, or maybe that new Astalos deviant... They are just so hot!
Gotta sharpen that bow gun
Man, Nightcloak Malfestio’s armor reminds me of Qurupeco’s grank armor from 3U. The nostalgia is painful, but amazing.
I love SnS in MHGU so I’m going for dreadqueen first.
Great video man, might make bloodbath due to how sweet it looks
thanks. I was waiting for this vid
Since I transferred my game from Gen to Gen Ultimate...I've still been using - exclusively - the Grimclaw Armor. Speed eating and HG earplugs for the bloody win!!!
Elderfrost Gammoth is going to be my first priority. It has pretty much all the skills I like for Bow.
the bloodbath armor looks AWESOME!!! i really want that armor.
Soulseer's armor made me scream. Why couldn't we have THAT as an option in normal gen!?
I'm gonna go the lazy route and stick to Atlal Ka's set. It's potential of free-making your dream skills is my cup of tea.
When he says brave he means Valor, right?
Yes
Just beat my first EX deviant (rustrazor), not really planning on making any deviant sets to use specifically, next EX will probably be soulseer for the transmog.
Best guide on Deviant sets.
all the infos i needed thansk gaijin
Silverwind Nargacuga looks badass
I find funny that stonefist set (the "shield" crab) gives aggressive skills and rustrazor set (the "blade" crab) gives defensive skills
Tetsucabra set with master trap and a good gunlance can fry some fatalis like we do in mhfu
The skill works as the following:
When you use a whetstone your sharpness will still decrease as normal unlike Protective polish. Instead it will increase its power. I cant seem to find out what they exactly mean by "power" Since it doesn't effect the raw dmg of the weapon at all. I guess it effects the sharpness multiplier but I cant find the damage values no matter how hard I look.
