Yet another excellent diagnostic video. The Pico is a very useful tool for in-depth investigations, but personally if room permits, I remove the spark plugs for inspection, carry out resistance test on the coils and perform a compression test. Thank you for a very well-presented video.
You are right Colin, but an oscilloscope allows for non intrusive testing with accurate results under actual working conditions. Visual inspections and resistance tests can be useful, but do not put components under the normal working stress environments. Also, a resistance test will not work on a 3 or 4-wire COP.
Hey Nigel, not a large amount of time. Once I got my head around what was needed, it was just a matter of diagnosing to figure what was working and what wasn't. I was actually surprised that it wasn't a burnt valve. But the relative compression test soon put my mind to ease. But I just had to double check with an old school compression test. I should have trusted the data. A lesson learned for future diagnosis. 🤔

Thx for the vid and the thorough diagnosis.
I'm guessing a lot of time went into doing all that.
