    Thanks for the video! I’m a Black American with roots mainly from the Congo. I am looking more into my roots to embrace my unknown culture!

    I'm Haitian and my father tells me that his forefathers were brought to Haiti from the Congo. The way you season your food and even garnish your fish with the onions is what's done in Haitian cuisine. The vegetable dish you prepared is similar to a dish we call Lalau. If you watch Haitian Food channels you'll see what I mean.

      The Leviticus Diet oh yes I am aware of that... a lot of the captures slaves (unfortunately) were first dropped in those.Ireland's...Haiti etc... that's why we have a lot of similarities in food, fashion even religion. I'm glad we can still connect like that!

      The Leviticus Diet Yes, get this book:
      www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/0300212542/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1524011924&sr=8-1&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_QL65&keywords=atlas+of+the+transatlantic+slave+trade&dpPl=1&dpID=61uWBrxeKkL&ref=plSrch
      I bought this book after watching a Bible video by the Gathering of Christ Church (GOCC) showing that history proves that we African Bantu are the real Israelites of the Bible.
      98% of slaves that were shipped to Haiti came from Congo, Angola area.

      If you want to visite congo you'd better visite both the congos,you have to organize your trip first. what do you whant to visite?cities nature,or both?cities: kin , brazza and pointe noire .
      nature: nature
      go to the great lacke region in drc ;the northerns regions parcks in roc to see the forest animals wich are very rare and then the kouilou region and the mayombe forest.As you are indian, i suppose you love business ,so go to lumbumbashi.
      take a lot of money with you caus the distances are huge.
      by the way you can not go to the congos without crossing the river,do it it's amazing

    Well, I have a yard full of cassava leaves, and I'm determined to eat some! So many recipes online are too complex, three kinds of meat, two kinds of fish, three kinds of powdered soup... I wonder if anyone actually LIKES this leaf? I mean, you think of a cabbage say, some people just boil it and that's about all, you can eat it raw even. SO, this is the most straightforward preparation I can find online, pretty universal ingredients... you can find sardines in tomato sauce anywhere... So, this is what we're going to eat tomorrow!

    • @leonardpearlman4017
      @leonardpearlman4017 6 лет назад

      Months later: Back again, the plants died in the winter here (Florida, USA), but grew back! It turns out that you don't need that many fresh leaves! You can pick enough to make a big pot of soup in a few minutes. I've looked at dozens of recipes for this on RUclips, most are just too heavy, people just POUR palm oil in there, and some peanut butter too, then ten pounds of meat and fish.... I'm going to choke on that, we're not used to such heavy food now. Also, the cassava leaves keep growing, I'm falling behind! In a related topic, I read somewhere that people use other leaves such as from beans and pigeon peas for this kind of dish, so this time I grabbed a bunch of those, too. I don't think people in America think this stuff is edible! Anyway, I'm eating it now, and it seems about the same with different three kinds of leaves.

    The food looks delicious! I was wondering how much of the leek and eggplant did you add? And did you make the whole bag of cassava leaves?

    • @MissUKnats
      @MissUKnats  8 лет назад

      1 eggplant is enough for the amount of veg I was using.
      Yes I made the whole bag.
