My hair is naturally weak so colour and relaxer makes it super weak! To get my hair stronger, I have to dust/trim the ends ever 6 weeks; rotate moisture and protein treatments weekly; use Olaplex weekly; moisturise daily; wear weekly protective styles 5 days out of 7; use seamless combs to detangle damp hair and take extra supplements. It's a lot but it's the only way I'm not bald. Maybe one day when I move somewhere tropical, I will have a blond relaxed buzz cut but for now in winter I need hair on my head!
@@KrissypooHairView thanks and Thanks for pinning! I'm 40 and it's freezing outside I'm so glad I have hair on my head and all my edges! I live in London England UK and it can be hard to find a good stylist!
My hair is pretty weak - it breaks whenever I touch it for any reason. Olaplex and Aphogee products help, but I notice that when I drink a lot of water I have less breakage, and recently I started drinking collagen protein powders in tea or juice or just water, and it’s been a game changer for me. I’ve taken hair supplements for years and didn’t notice much difference, but the powder works wonders.
What client's dont say when they visit a new stylist is, they haven't returned for regular maintenance after receiving color. Let's not blame the stylist for her damage.
Exactly, they just use stylists as clout to make a video to make money from utube. Lazy, can't start a real business without bashing real entrepreneurs.
I agree, especially after getting color. Some clients don’t maintain or have a regimen for their hair in between salon services which is essential to maintaining healthy hair.
I swear I love what our hair can do especially with such a talented beautician. Especially in one sitting how amazing her hair turned out! Your hands are definitely blessed Krissy!
Hey Krissy!❤️ I have been natural my whole life, and growing up, I never knew how to take care of my hair. I was combing it dry every day, which led to severe breakage. My breakage was so bad that my hair was so many different lengths. I ended up getting a haircut, and it was a life saver. Hair went from chin length to almost mid-back length in 2 years. Those haircuts make all the difference
I never let anyone do chemicals on my first time in their chair. I always go in and ask for a wash, conditioner and blow dry only: no press. And if they say "Oh you need a relaxer so I can get it straight", I know I'm not coming back. We need more stylists like you, who analyze the hair and meet the client's needs!
Her hair appeared to have the same damage all over and not just in the back where the color was applied so I really don't think the stylist damaged it (of course, applying color to damaged hair doesn't help it). so the client should take some of the blame for the state of her hair because sometimes against a professional's advice, the client wants what they want. On another note, what are your thoughts about the Babyliss flat iron you're using?
She's lucky she found you! You did a nice job straightening, with just the right amount of heat to accomplish the goal. It had a lot of texture and shine when you were done!
I wonder if the stylist tell her that he hair was to weak for color. But sometimes people want color and their hair can't handle it. When I was a cosmetologist years ago, I would have to tell some of my clients that their hair to weak for color, some of them listen and some don't. It's not all about the money.
Thank God she came to you!!!! You really repaired her hair. Sometimes when we wear our hair natural, we think we can always freely put stuff on top of it that we shouldn't with a perm, but it is better just to work with your own hair. The color she has is nice, but she could have worked with her natural color just fine too. Great job. I was honestly getting nervous because of the breakage. I didn't think it would come out this nice.
Olaplex #3 would help with this kind of damage with continous use. It is a hair bond builder. Do reccomend it. $28 @ bttle at sephora and well eorth it.
Hey KrissyPoo, Her hair looks wonderful 😁. I am also natural and have been for over 3 years now. Permanent color and I don’t get along. The last time I used permanent color my hair broke off and had to be cut and I had to be out on steroids due to the reaction. And also as far as heat I only use a dryer on my hair just once or twice a month only because it helps my products condition and stay in my hair better (when I didn’t do it that way my hair would be very dry), and I only silk press once a year. Thank you 🙏 for not only providing good content but education in the process. I have heard good things about design essentials.
@Fiesty One I had seen them in my hair store and then a friend swore by the brand. I gave it a try after taking my braids out and the shampoo is ok but I love the conditioner…very moisturizing which is what my hair needs after braids. I like to switch up my brands 1-2 times a year and the conditioner will def stay in my rotation! Wishing you the best!💕
@@fiestyone OMG. Thank goodness you are OK. The last time I coloured my hair was a box dye. I'm high porosity so my cuticle is already open so I use golden blond to lift my hair to a light brown. My hair does well with color, even at home. However, I’m all natural and only use heat once a month. My edges don’t do well with color though or any harsh processing. I got highlights by a professional and used products for color treated hair that he suggested and I still had breakage. So when I color, I only use cellophane rinses with that shampoo and conditioner that go with it.
Did you moisturise daily? Did you wear protection styles most of the week? Did you deep condition with a weekly rotation of moisture, protein and Olaplex? Did you sleep with a silk or satin pillowcase or scarf? Did you detangle with a seamless wide tooth comb in small sections? If you said no to any of those that's where the breakage comes from. Coloured hair is high maintenance hair with or without relaxer and heat styling. I've seen bleached blond Caucasian straight hair break off from lack of maintenance too.
Yep sometimes even when it’s a good job on the color our hair might not take well to a particular color brand as well. Doing a strand test helps as well
I have wavy hair and I'm all natural. Never dyed nor bleached my hair. I really want a light brown balayage but I'm terrified of ending up with damaged hair. 😅

Sometimes, it's the maintenance. Colour is high maintenance. Daily leave in conditioner and protective styles. Satin or silk scarf/ pillowcase at night and weekly deep conditioning sessions rotating moisture, protein and Olaplex. Due to the breakage in that shape in the back, it looks like she has been throwing it up in a ponytail which is one of the worst styles to wear every week every day . I'd say you should only wear a ponytail if you have high maintenance hair, for 5 days out of the month. A French braid is more gentle. A French roll is OK but you have to take the hair pins out at night. Coloured and relaxed hair is high maintenance hair for most people.

If you don’t want to do that, make sure that you get “good” trim or cut. Do the protein once a month, as well as a mask treatment. The olaplex no. 3 is good as well for deep conditioning.

If you don’t want to do that, make sure that you get “good” trim or cut. Do the protein once a month, as well as a mask treatment. The olaplex no. 3 is good as well for deep conditioning.
@@KrissypooHairView thank you so much …I will do that
I saw people around me get their hair colored/it broke off/was dry/brittle. So I already know if i get my hair colored it may break off because I'm too lazy to take care of it afterwards, so i don't even bother.
I use a rinse, cornow my hair and slap a wig on it everyday and keep it moving😂😂 Yea I'm that lazy to do my hair
I respect that because your being real with it 💯💯💯
Going through it now. We now live in a world where you pay a so-called profession who is supposed to know what they are doing and you pay a pretty penny and end up with your hair ruined,,,HEAT DAMAGE....I now have to cut my hair,,,,AND THESE SO-CALLED STYLIST ACT SURPRISED THAT YOU'RE UPSET? DON'T BE SURPRISED WHEN YOU GET PULLED UP ON!!
Great job!!
Thankyou 🥰🥰🥰
Well done
Very Pretty!
That’s why I’m so nervous to see who I want to cut my ends ,I do not want them cutting alot ugh making me sick !!!
The longer you go without the thinner your hair will be to where you will be begging the stylist to fix your hair because the movement will be gone as well.
You did it good cut it look good
