Ask a Red Wings fan if the years in the wilderness are worth it. Still buried in a rebuild. It will be at least 3 years before the team is any good. That will be 11 years since their last playoff appearance. If this current rebuild goes off the rails, it could be longer.
The upcoming 6 game road trip is likely season defining for Vancouver. As a Sabres fan this is like the best record for this time of year in a bit. 2 years ago it was a strong middle of the season and kinda okay end that got them within 1 point of the Panthers. Being 500 at Christmas feels like if guys can get going you are still in the talk for a good second half getting. I know they need a 5 game winning steak or something like that, but not starting 4 12 1 is an improvement. It's been the top line that has been good with Thompson when he is in. The bottom line has also been good. They are also getting team scoring. It is the age old letting too many goals in. They need to win games when scoring 2 to 3 goals. Right now those feel like miracles. Plus not getting games to OT. Having 1 extra point is not enough. Ot losses and low scoring wins are what they need. Getting the St Louis game to OT by playing keep away so they had a full OT power play is proudest I have been watching them since 2018

As a Nashville fan, we were supposed to be a contender for the cup this year with all the money we spent this summer. Instead we're only contending for the draft lottery now. We're past panic and anger and have moved into stunned silent resignation.
As a Panthers fan, I am quite scared of the Winnipeg Jets, despite them losing 5-0 to us. Anyway, what really pisses me off are the times where the Panthers simply shut down, like someone took out the power cord from the socket. It's VERY frustrating to see the Panthers go from looking like cup contenders to cup pretenders in a period or two.
As a Devils fan, I would put them in 'OK'. Reason being that they have yet to put together a run that reflects they are a Cup contender. Playing well, but not like top teams.

As a Blues fan, I feel concerned is the correct category. Expectations going into the season were a push for a wild card spot, but too many key injuries with so much overlap means that young guys are getting more opportunity, but also getting used to mediocrity. Overall the effort is there, but when the effort leads to losing, it gets very discouraging.
I wouldn't call it panic in Detroit but definitely apathy and concern. We'll take the unexpected top 5 pick but if next year is terrible it's definitely panic time. No one wants to be the next Buffalo being mired in an endless rebuild then retooling the rebuild then rebuilding again
As an Islander fan I feel panicked because we have choked third period leads on a consistent basis for the last two seasons. Farm is pathetic and at best they are a WC2 that only gets in due to lower points.
Don't want to speak for all Pens fans but I'm definitely irritated. We're so directionless under Dubas right now. Trying to be competitive but also continually selling our best performers when things don't go well. The Ovi injury news is disconcerting, but I was pretty happy with how they played last night. I think they should have put Ivan Miroshnichenko right into Ovi's spot. As a Nashville fan, we were supposed to be a contender for the cup this year with all the money we spent this summer. Instead we're only contending for the draft lottery now. We're past panic and anger and have moved into stunned silent resignation.
Great Video, as usual, Shannon - Get ready to move Chicago if Chicago gets Jim Montgomery as I've predicted
As a Jets fan, I am a bit panicked with their 2 game slide in Florida, maybe I got so used to them winning so much 😂
As a Panthers fan, I am quite scared of the Winnipeg Jets, despite them losing 5-0 to us. Anyway, what really pisses me off are the times where the Panthers simply shut down, like someone took out the power cord from the socket. It's VERY frustrating to see the Panthers go from looking like cup contenders to cup pretenders in a period or two.
You just lost to the Preds too. It raises one’s eyebrows
As a Devils fan, I would put them in 'OK'. Reason being that they have yet to put together a run that reflects they are a Cup contender. Playing well, but not like top teams.
Pittsburg is in their own category of "we saw this coming, but it's still very sad"
Man, my preseason predictions were awful lmao
Me - "watch out for Montreal, Ottawa, Nashville, Detroit and Minnesota this year, they are looking real good"
That did not age well at all haha, at least the Wild are doing good 🤷🏼♂️
I feel ya there. I called two of Detroit, Ottawa, and Buffalo finally unseating one of Tampa and Boston and being better than the fourth best team in the metro. That aged like milk in the sun man.
I'd say Ottawa is somewhere between concerned and angry. They might be solidly in angry after the next two games against Vegas and Vancouver though
Correct for us. Nothing to say here lmao
You laugh now, we will laugh later when you fail to meet your own expectations yet again.
@@theScotian24 what a crappy thing to say! If your team was 14-4 after 18 games, when everybody said you were going to suck, you'd be pretty stoked too. don't be a negative person
Is Toronto doing an experiment to see if they can do well without Matthews?
Don't panic. Okay. Okay. Don't. Panic. Panicking.
-2024 Canuck fans
The Metro is just stacked with skilled good teams
Thanks for letting us know
I completely agree with the placement of the Blues, along with the consternation involved in determining that placement.
Yes VGK are 6 games above .500 but the amount of goals they give up is concerning. It’s a good thing they’ve been scoring a lot or the record could be worse. Not quite panicking but a little nervous if the scoring drops
@@VGK2017 welp after the TOR game
@ was a good game. Woll was a wall. Have to give him credit. I thought VGK carried most of the play except for the 3rd period
Don’t forget your towel
Thank god this season is different. Last season there were like 10 teams waiting for the draft since early November.
I still have some hope for the Habs to make the playoffs if they can turn things around. That's especially if the Bruins and the Sens continue to struggle. But I guess every team is also hoping to turn things around lol. There's definitely still a good opportunity in the Atlantic.
As a flames fan I’m loving how things are going right now wolf has arrived the vibes are solid
As an ilses fan, im not very worried. Barzal and Duclair are out, and were still picking up points. Were only losing games by one goal, so when they come back we should start winning some more
I’d like to think that but no matter who plays they still seem to find ways to blow the lead and lose in OT.
@@tommoore9735 points are points lmao, after last season ive finally understood to never give up until the e is next to thier name
@@platypussoup7827 that’s true but I don’t want to make it in by a bunch of OT points because then they will just lose in 5 or 6 games first round. On top of that they won’t be in the draft lottery.
@@tommoore9735 if they comeback and we still are losing in overtime, than i agree with you. Lou CANNOT be in charge during the trade deadline if we still suck. But we're only losing by one, maybe two goals every game, and they could easily combine for 60 goals together, which would win us way more games. Defense look pretty good even tough its still missing big pieces, sorokin and varly are also playing great. Unironically if we still suck i would like to see Roy take over the GM role as he seems to have a good vison for this team and he could make some big moves
I’ll tell you what… I’m loving life as a San Jose fan rn. Ik we aren’t going to make the playoffs but our expectations weren’t high and there is a real excitement about these kids currently. Things seem to be looking up for the long run even if they aren’t immediately here just yet
The Sharks are fun to watch. They seem like they are genuinely having fun out there. Your broadcast crew is pretty good too.
Good job dude. I like your comments
I'm one of the seemingly few Bruins fans who is not panicking. Is a disappointing season so intolerable? On the other hand, it's been an excruciating FIVE MONTHS since Boston won a championship!
Agree! 57th season as a 🐻 fan… seen worse!🐻🏒🏒🏒
Chicago fans are definitely angry - We aren't expecting to win, but man are they rough to watch, and seeing Bedard not taking the next step is a touch frightening.
They were atleast meant to be fun to watch this year, even if they end up bottom 5, but they can't score for shite, brutal.
In Bedard's final year of junior, his team was eliminated early and it was expected.
Bedard will age like fine wine. The problem is that they have some washed players in their roster.
I’ll be the one to say it for Jersey fans, we are concerned about consistency.
As a rangers fan cant keep relying on goaltending the top guys are not playing hard looks at times they dont want to backcheck
Pens fan. I want us looking for the draft the next three years.
Carlsson for draft picks?😅
As a Vegas fan, I'm kinda panicking. Goaltending has been shaky
Its not fair to panic with that record though. Mild concern yes but not panic.
For me, it's that they're a different team with both Hague and Stone out. Plus, they can't beat a playoff team on the road or now at home. Not sure they belong 6th in the weekly power rankings.
@@carlgemlich1657 I agree. Maybe still top 15 but definitely not 6th. Stone is a big loss. Defense is not looking good ATM
As a Florida fan, I'm still shocked every time I hear that 1. they actually won last year, 2. they are still considered a top team in the league, and 3. there's actually mention that they could go back to back. I'm just not sure what to make of all this. We suffered for so long that it's just a really weird feeling.
Caps fan here. After Ovi's injury NO WAY we're in the top category!! I'd say concerned. Other players are playing well but Ovi was playing very well and they will have to adjust however long he is out.
Hes week to week relax already
@@theScotian24 Week to week yes. I heard that. If I wasn't relaxed, I would have said panicked which I didn't.
Well done very fair.
King's: Not angry, just need a new front office. The whole thing
Yeah. Can’t figure who the hell they are.
I and surprise that the islanders are not one the panic list
As a flames fan I wanna ride the line of great play as long as possible then crash and burn to get a top 10 pick and save our draft
I can confirm your theory about sharks fans, we suck, but you can see the light at the end of the tunnel
How can the thunderdome of the metro (sans pittsburgh) be EVEN WORSE than it was 5-10 years ago?
Here's misery, who the Wings could have drafted:
2013 Shea Theodore
2014 David Paztrnak
2015 Brock Boeser
2016 Tage Thompson
2017 Jake Oettinger
2018 Quinn Hughes, Adam Boquist, Evan Bouchard
g'day shannon ,, as a utah coyote fan , [ they'll always be our az. coyotes] hard working young lads mostly, the excitement has ebbed from opening weeks = 3-0 start , 4-8-3 since ,reality is setting in for utah club, realistically they will have 75 points +/- , we will see how staunch the folks in utah are as the season goes along , fair weather or actual hockey fans thru thick and thin.
As a Flames fan, I would put them in the whoo hoo! category because they were expected to be in the lottery race, not the playoffs.
If Kaprizov gets hurt, and he did get banged up last night against the Oilers, The Wild go from Homer Simpson to panic instantly. Kaprizov is a huge reason why Minnesota is winning most games this season.
Boston watching the NY Jets and implementing their strategy
As a Flames fan, I'm feeling great. The expectations for us were like to be a bottom 10, and we're in a playoff position. Wolf is playing great, and we're getting good results from most of our players.
Rangers game should be fun! If they can win that I’d be pleasantly surprised, but honestly it might not be that big of an upset considering the rangers have been kinda faltering lately.
Rangers game should be fun! They’ve been hitting some rough patches so a win there is within reach! It would be fun if they get another win streak going.
Flames play well when I watched this year and last.
Detroit is to high. What the heck Yzerman?
As an Islander fan I feel panicked because we have choked third period leads on a consistent basis for the last two seasons. Farm is pathetic and at best they are a WC2 that only gets in due to lower points.
For the Canucks, I'm definitely concerned, but it has more to do with the injuries/absences than with their record.
Don't want to speak for all Pens fans but I'm definitely irritated. We're so directionless under Dubas right now. Trying to be competitive but also continually selling our best performers when things don't go well. And I love Sullivan but you can't have a team with Crosby on it playing this poorly and keep your job.
Dubas is a huge gaslighter, he talks like he knows what he's doing, then he acts like a squirrel running around looking for his nuts, don't miss him in Toronto, you can send us back Bunting tho please and thank you 🙏
As a Pens fan, the anger category is fair, however I think it's starting to get very close to panic lol.
Sullivan has lost thr room. The Pens need a new voice to get them motivated.
Would you be able to do a video explaining how the draft lottery works?
The Ovi injury news is disconcerting, but I was pretty happy with how they played last night. I think they should have put Ivan Miroshnichenko right into Ovi's spot. Give the team some consistency for a game as Ivan plays a similar style to Ovi and then work to shuffle things up. I get Hendrix being in the lineup, but it caused a lot of ripples up and down the lineup.
