Amit, thank you for your efforts - the video is quite informative. Just would like to mark on 2 issues: 1) Refugees of 1 mln people during 1988-1992 were ethnic azerbaijanis. And it was the cost of 120k armenian's willing for so called self-determination. 2) Turkey is supporting Azerbaijan morally and the reason is not religion. Azerbaijanis are also turks and speak the same language (surely with minor differences) as turkish people in Turkey. Iran is also muslim country, but hiddenly supports Armenia. From Azerbaijani side russian, jew, lezgi, avar, etc.citizens of the country are fighting for liberation of Karabakh. So it has nothing to do with the religion.
P.S. the conflict started in early 1987 when azerbaijanis living in Armenia SSR forced by armenians to leave their homeland. During 1987-1989 azerbaijanis of 300k approximately became refugee and left their homeland in the territory of Armenia SSR.
Good, concise video. You only left out one thing - the Armenian genocide by the Turkish government 100 years ago. That might have a slight impact on Turkish / Armenian relations.

Look even Azerbaijani people say they don't want ceasefire. This proves Azerbaijan started the war. Truth will always surface. Both sides are suffering innocent lives. There is no point in fighting. As Dmitry Babich stated, "Nagorno-Karabakh announced independence in 1987 and Azerbaijan got their independents in 1991 when Soviet Union collapsed" Stalin gave the Nagorno-Karabakh to Azerbaijan without knowing that 96% of the populations are ethnic Armenians. Now there is NO SOVIET UNION, The people of NAGORNO-KARABAKH are free from Soviet Union. Therefore, they are exercising the freedom of rights and so was Lezgistan and Talishs but Azerbaijan were able to suppress and kill the leaders of Talishs and Lezgistan but not the Leaders of Nagorno-Karabakh because Armenia supported them and our ethnic people survived. You got your independents why can’t the people of Nagorno-Karabakh get their own independents? Azerbaijan is not even older then the Armenian Monastery that was build back in 1968 in Nagorno-Karabakh. What gives you the right to call it your land? Stalin didn't give a shit who lived in Nagorno-Karabakh he just divided countries because we were all under Soviet control. Stalin called your country Azerbaijan which is an Iranian name, yet Azerbaijan is ethnic from Turkey and you have mixed your blood with people of Lezgistan and Talishs. Tell me how in the world is Nakhchivan part of Azerbaijan? It's in the other side of your country, right next to Armenia? Why is there Old Armenian Monastery churches in Van which is in Turkey? Ayaz Mutalibov former president of Azerbaijan stated that the massacre had been committed not by Armenian soldiers but by Popular Front of Azerbaijan militants who allegedly shot their own civilians escaping through the corridor. Nevertheless, attempting to minimize his own role did not help him. In one of his interviews Mutalibov stated that the event was "organized" by his political opponents to force his resignation.

- The current war was started by Azerbaijan. They said many times that they won't negotiate and that they want everything
- The disputed area was in armenian control before the soviet union and it was defacto independent.
- After the soviet union it deckared its independence like the Republic of Armenia and Azerbaijan.
- Azerbaijan didn't like that (obviously), an the war started 30 years ago.
- The Azeri public is very vocal about this war. They want this war. You see that in sozial media.
- Armenians have a much smaller military and would never start a war.
- Armenians are the ones that suffer the most right now. Wen want a cease fire, but Azerbaijan does not.

You completely missed the UN resolutions on Nogorno Karabakh region in favor of Azerbaijan. Religion is secondary to this conflict. So many people were displaced in 1992 war from that beautiful land that holds lots of natural resources.
Artsakh or Nagorno-Karabakh declared its independence utilizing the same legal framework for self-determination as Armenia, Azerbaijan and a host of other republics such as Kazakhstan, Kirghizia, Georgia and Tajikistan did.

Coexistence was a solution but seems its too late, and is being projected as religious conflict, when both Azeries and Armenians are secular, one is aided by Turkey and Israel, and the other by the French and others. Follow the UN resolutions.
While the conflict itself is not discussed, its significance in the global and regional geopolitics, is informative. The original Nagorno Kharabkh conflict still has open scars, as many families were also split apart, where people ended up having both Armenian and Azerbaijani lineage. It's important to excavate the true reasons behind the conflagration, especially with Turkey's assertive stance which is also being felt in India through Pakistan. The persecution of some Muslims in one part of the world to violent reclamation in another is a sign of very troubled times.
@@ankitasurabhi6967 UN resolutions and resolve to solve the conflict by peaceful means was the solution, not anymore as the toothless UN resolutions cannot be implemented. Turkeys assertion in that region is obvious as the flag of Aizerbaijan, the language and the economic interests, all matter to Ankara, Bakau, and Moscow. Its better not mix Kashmir in this discussion. UN resolutions and democratic sanity are the solution. Both India and Pakistan are impoverished countries and war budgets do not suit their prosperity and progress. India/Pakistan have been a princely country/states all through their own history and the curries, the language, the people, the traditions, even the religious books change after every 50 miles. It is hard to keep them united. It is as complex as the European diversity.
@@anseralim62 Yes, but the process for that independence took place by referendum which the region’s civilians voted for. No one was driven from their lands until after this took place. It is Azeris fault for not accepting the will of the people. Armenia simply did what was necessary.

I am from Azerbaijan, most of what you said was true, but some not. First of all, we are not fighting because of religion difference, and Turkey and Russia doesn't support because of their religion. One important thing you didn't mention is that both Azerbaijan and Turkey are Turkic countries, and our language and culture are the same. That's the main reason Turkey supports Azerbaijan. Russia supports Armenia because actually Russia created Armenia between Azerbaijan and Turkey to divide Turks (look Armenia's position on map)

The biggest inaccuracy of this video is that the conflict is not between Armenia and Azerbaijan, but it is a conflict between Armenians living in NK/Artsakh and Azerbaijan for the right to live in their homeland in safety. You forgot to mention the ethnic cleansing in Baku and Sumgayit and Kirovabad in 1988-1990. This is not a territorial conflict, but rather an existential conflict.
Not arguing that there is certainly that element, but you have to question whether that's the reason for the war or just the reason actors are using to justify it. After all, the official reason for the U. S. invasion of Iraq was weapons of mass destruction.

Only Karabakh had and still has vast majority Armenian population while surrouding areas that Armenia also occupied was vast majority Azerbaijani, in fact over 800,000 Azerbaijanis got displaced during the war while entire population of Karabakh was only 145,000 so Armenia has absolutely no justification as there was Armenian population and this is why Azerbaijan never gave up on their lands..
Also Azerbaijan and Turkey have very good relations because Azerbaijanis are also coming from Oghuz Turks same as we Anatolian Turks, in fact both we can understand each other's Turkish easily, it is like British and Australian English. In fact official motto of Turkey-Azerbaijani relations is ''One nation, two states''...

You covered well however this conflict helped Azerbaijan to regain control over the disputed land after longtime since 1992 clashes, and the prime reason for win was weapons from Israel, including the Harop “suicide drones” - unmanned aerial vehicles, therefore Israel played a crucial role and is a key supplier of drones and other weaponry to Azerbaijan, which reached a cease-fire deal with Armenia in recent conflict to accomplish its strategic role in the region as Azerbaijan is also a major oil supplier for the Jewish state.

They are totally different. Azerbaijan actually consists of Talish, Alban, lalish, Lezgi people. The country doesnot historically exist. Stalin made that country in 1920. And by the way many institutions and establishments in Baku and Sumgait was owned by Armenians before the establishment of Azerbaijan. So soon their oil will finish and bye bye.

You didn't mention, that according to UN resolution this area belongs to Azerbaijan and Armenia supports the separatists in that region and Armenia occupies areas around Nigarno Karabagh as well so clearly Armenia is the aggressor. Furthermore, Armenians killed and kicked out thousands of Azeris living in the area during the war in 1990s. Please report truthfully without biases.

All well explained but I believe a very important point is missed.
It is true always interests come first but also Turkey is one of the countries with high nationalist ideas due to many events occurred since early 19th century. Azerbaijan is the only country that speaks the same language (I would say 90% same) and culturally connected with Turkish. Actually people in Turkey mostly call them Azeri Turkish and themselves Anatolian Turkish. So apart from government interests, the people of Turkey and Azerbaijan feels they are the same nation with 2 different borders. That's why any government in Turkey wouldn't dare to go against Azerbaijan.
This is not necessarily always a good thing especially when it comes down to a subjective analysis of events but it is what it is.

For this purpose, Panahali khan ordered the construction of Bayat fortress in Kabirli district in 1748. [2] In 1751, Panahali khan built a stronger fortress on the Shahbulag plateau near Aghdam, ie Shahbulag fortress. However, due to the fact that this fortress was not located in a geographically convenient place, the construction of the fortress, Shusha fortress, on a high, steep mountain not far from Shushakend, began and was built and completed in 1756-1757. A weak explanation about the reasons behind the war between Armenia and Azerbaijan which end it up in the occupation of 20% of Azerbaijan lands. One needs to pay attention that not whole the occupied area was inhabited by ethnic Armenians. They expelled native Azeri people from their homes and occupied their lands. @@aramgregorian4935 Occupation refers to the illigal military presence of Armenia in the lands of the other country (Azerbaijan), which is continued from 1992 up to right now. You need to consider that Azeries are native to those lands, as well. Simply you can see this in the history of the most important city of this region, shusha, as it is founded by a Muslim and not by an Armenian perosn and it is the home city of so many Azeri artists and singers. I hope you're not gonna deny the presence of native Azeri Muslims in Karabakh as have been expelled from their homes during years of 20th century and later were killed and exiled by Armenian army in 1992 Kaeabakh conflict. The fact is that living a tribe in the territory of a country doesn't mean to expel the others from those lands and then by thr support of other countries (Armenia and Russia) build up a fake country which is not recognized even by Armenia itself. Right now 7 other adjacent regions of Karabagh which use to be the homelands of Azeries are occupied by Armenia, just as an execus to connect Karabakh to the mainland of Armenia.

Land disputes was, it was Azerbaijan's land captured by Armenia through war and it was being occupied for last 30 years or so, now Azerbaijan recaptured half of the land that it had lost. Captured land never was Armenia land and even now Armenia continue with occupation do not want a peace but rather want to continue with occupation, just like Israhell does.
