Like his patch repair using his shirt!!!🤣
When movies were made with "real airplanes".
Lindbergh was 25 when he flew the Atlantic so his character is probably 23 or 24 in these scenes but Jimmy Stewart was 49 when this film was made
Anybody care to guess what Bud Gurney's seniority number was at United? He was featured in a United training film about the use of oxygen and hypoxia.
No idea. What is it?
@@cochinaable Number 1. He went from Jennys to jets.
Great movie even though Jimmy was too old for the part, but he ACTED the part believably.
The use of smoke in aerobatic shows did not happen until 1957 with the Black Cats in England.. Skywriting, yes, early as 1920. Aerobatics at shows...nope, not until 1957
And you'll need a Hollywood budget for that much smoke at a small country fair . . . they are not cheap! : )
All of the filming took place well prior to 1957, so I wonder if they got the idea from the film work or vice versa.
The parachute tricks look too complicated for back then, too
In the 1940's I remember watching a sky writter spelling out 7UP, 7UP, 7UP all the way down the line. Pretty neat!
И никакого СGI !!!
Had the tragedy of the kidnapping but ruined his reputation totally by being a Hitler apologist and appeaser.
No, he was not a Hitler apologist or appeaser. He thought we should stay out of "European affairs", but that was very common in the 1930s after the experience of WWI. We have the exact problem today with America's population after the experiences of the last 20 years misadventure in Iraq. Lindbergh was NOT an apologist or appeaser, however.
Plus, once we were in the war, he served as an armed forces "advisor"... an advisor who flew 50 combat missions.
Maybe, do your own homework. You will find out who the real good guys where.
